    Not the best Die Hard

A Good Day To Die Hard was not the best in the series. Wish Bruce had had more sarcastic and cocky lines. He didn't seem to be as enthusiastic about this film either. But, if you like tons, and I mean, tons, of car wrecks, and lots of fireballs and blow ups, you'll still enjoy this movie.

    Nap Time!

The movie was just ok. It wasn't a waste of money but I wouldn't recommend running right out to see it either. I love the other Die Hard movies and am a huge fan of Bruce Willis but I was not impressed with this movie. I actually fell asleep during it for a couple of minutes. Husband woke me up laughing at me. Bruce was not actually the star of this one honestly. He played more of the supporting role. He also looked a bit skinny for a "Hero". Anyway... there's my opinion.

    Ehhh...

So I'm a huge Bruce Willis fan and I love the original Die Hard and all the ones in between but this one was well Lame. Don't get me wrong loads of action tons of explosion and gun fire. But jokes were delivered and there were crickets. Bruce seemed to be walking around like a old man trying to reconnect with his son while there in Russia and be chased and what have you. I thought that was rather corny. Bruce was so much better in Looper than this. The actor who played his son was okay over all it isn't something I would watch again and I may even forget about it.

    Money maker

    by bartab

One third of this movie is a car chase .One third is a helocopter spinning around a courtyard.all this over nukes getting into the wrong hands.Like the Russians are going to leave nukes unprotected.Best line of the movie is when Bruce Willis says "I'm on vacation".Should have went on a cruise..

    Average.... Iliked it

    by

Nada del otro mundo.... Pense que no iba a poder dormir de tanta accion, explosiones y tiros jajaja, pero dormi bien. Me gusto mucho la accion entre padre e hijo y los pocos chistes que saltaron espontaneos.

    Great initial chase scene

    by

It really fell flat in comparison to other Die Hard movies before it. Only a couple of quotables and not as many laughs. The initial chase scene was pretty good and after that it just went down hill fast. So if you are a die hard Die Hard fan, go see it, but otherwise skip it.

High hopes and excited, but left disappointed!

First I want to say that I am a big fan of Die Hard series and when I first heard that they are making a new Die Hard, I was excited! After seeing this film, I left dissatisfied.

Not only it does not feel like a Die Hard, its also not a very good film. The plot SUCKS, the villains are NOT memorable, acting is so-so but 90% of this movie is all shooting and explosions so you can't get a connection with the main characters, AND THE WORST PART OF THIS MOVIE IS THE YIPPE-KAI-YAYMOTHER F***KER WAS NOT EPIC AT ALL! This is the worst Die Hard in this series; yes, even Live Free or Die Hard is even better then this. The only thing that it says it from giving it a OH NO is the action, its average; its alright but its going to sound weird but its way too much.

If you are a Die Hard fan, you will be disappointed! For everyone else, you might or might not like it, I would say to just rant it: you are not missing anything that is a must see. I give a high NO, very close to a SO-SO.

the critics are way too harsh

    by

this was classic diehard with alot of explosions and gunplay.

if youre expecting Shakespeare in the round dont bother, but if you are a fan of the Diehard franchise you wont be sorry.

I'm a pretty critical guy (EVERYONE who knows me will agree) and I had a great time last night. Non-stop action and memorable bad guys.

    TYPICAL BRUCE WILLIS

    by cassnjc

Movie was great!! Just what you'd expect out of yet another Die Hard movie, but I think they've all been good and this one did not dissapoint!!

Typical Bruce WIllis humor made the movie - I'm on Vacation - he's say throughout dodging bullets.

Hubby and I went together and he enjoyed it more than I did!!

    Lotsa action!

    Action & Bruce...

It may be a good day for Bruce Willis to end his series as this was a little drawn-out and obvious to lead to future ones with Bruce in probably more of a Cameo-role. Action was great and unique as always.

    Good movie...not great

Full of the typical action you would see in any Die Hard film. John McClain keeps getting shot and falling off of 12 story buildings but keeps going!

    Fun

Most people who want to see a Die Hard movie aren't looking for a brilliant bit of cinematography or deeply moving dialogue. We watch Die Hard movies because things crash, smash and blow up, and because John McClane is awesome. A Good Day to Die Hard is a lot of fun. There are crashes, smashes, and explosions galore. John McClane is still awesome. While it may not be vital piece of cinema history, it was most definitely an enjoyable, entertaining way to spend a couple hours.

Thin plot strung together by big explosions

I love Die Hard. I watch it every Christmas no matter where I am or who I am with. "Ho, Ho, Ho". It has so many memorable moments and great character elements weaved into the plot, it stands out in the sea of generic action flicks that have come and gone throughout the ages. Sadly, the franchise hasn't been so lucky.

They don't give me enough space here to say what I really want to say about this movie and the franchise, but I'll just leave it at this: A Good Day to Die Hard is a bunch of big explosions tied together by weak and possibly even more unbelievable dialogue. It doesn't know if it wants to be a Jason Bourne spy movie or a more traditional Die Hard action movie. Sadly, it fails at both. Courtney Jai could preform some great hand-to-hand action scenes and I'm fairly sure Bruce could as well, but the action in this movie is delegated to waving machine guns around in the air and huge, ungodly explosions.

No memorable moments or dialogue, no redeeming qualities.

    Mega Action

This is the opposite of a "chick flick" although I am a chick and really enjoyed it. Bruce still rocks and even though this sequel was not big on dialog the action was amazing! We had a party of 5 ranging from 27 to 64 and everyone enjoyed it.

    Good movie but...

I am a huge fan of the Die-Hard franchise. In my opinion it is one of the best (if not The Best) Hollywood franchises of all time. I will always make time to check out my man John McClain.

All that being said, this one felt old. You could literally see that the movie just had nothing left to offer Die-Hard fans so they throw in over the top car chases, helecopter crashes and guns blazing for no really good reason. It was so obvious that this HAS TO BE the last one. The only way I can describe it is it was like watching Michael Jordan at the end of his career with the Washington Wizards...he kept trying but you could clearly see he had nothing left in the end.

I recommend you go see it for some good action but be fore-warned this is not the John McClain you are used to seeing. May be time to say "Yipee-kiyay motherfu***r" to this franchise.
