    This movie died hard!!!!!!!!!!!!

Iv'e never wanted to fall asleep during an action movie. The action was very cheesy (especially the part where he rolled over the cars in a Mercedes SUV like it was a Monster truck). the humor had me rolling my eyes, and the story line was very generic and unmemorable. Worst action movie iv'e seen in a long time for sure, and I'm an avid action fan.

    Alot of Action

It was an interesting movie. Would have been a good movie to see in 3D.

The ending was to easy to figure out even though the story had alot of twists.

    Best Die Hard Movie

This was one fun movie. One of the best chase scenes. The vehicle chases and the helicoptor scenes were great. This is a must see movie. The way the two main carracters play off each other just adds to the fun. Get your popcorn and sit back and enjoy.

    Hell yes!!

He's back and better than ever. This one is definitely the one with the most action, and it's funny too. It's a better mystery movie than the others too. There isn't even one dull moment in the whole thing. The effects are top notch and like usual the stunts are just great. Maybe a little over the top, but still a great movie, and a classic installment to a classic franchise. If there is a 6th move, I'm not too sure how they can top themselves. I'm really glad they got back to the R rating too, excellent movie. Whether you've seen each other movie over a thousand times or never heard of this franchise, see it now!!

a good day to die hard

Good die hard movie, but not much of a plot. Plenty of action scenes, but the purported father-son relationship seems contrived. Not as good as the earlier movies in this series.

Don't Waste Your $, Rent It

    by

Die Hard movies typically have a formula. There's JM introduced to a situation he fell into, 75% of the movie is JM strategically trying to get the bad guy (emphasis on strategically), mix of comedy here and there, (most of the time) a great villain who you get to know. Now for Die Hard 5...
None of that applies here except for things exploding. 90% of the movie was a chase scene that JM mostly walked straight into within the first 5 seconds of the movie. No strategy, just chase, jump, run, explode. And the bad guy...you don't care enough about it in the end because its not fleshed out at all. It seems rushed. When the bad guy is introduced, JM and son figure it out within seconds with no real threat to themselves.
My final word on it is this: it was an awfully unfulfilling mixture of The Expendables and Indiana Jones (the end smelled richly of IJ). The only thing Die Hard about it was Bruce Willis and Die Hardisms thrown here and there. Extremely disappointing for BW last DH film.

A Good Movie ... for 99 cent rental

For the most part it was an enjoyable action flick. But it didn't feel like a true Die Hard movie.

It starts with an implausible setup that is followed by an implausible car chase. I found myself cringing in sympathy for the victims of John McClain's destruction of Moscow. For those ten minutes or so, John McClain was a worse villain than the villains.

The rest of the movie was OK, with a few moments of explosive fun.

The main thing is that Bruce Willis seemed tired. Tired of the role.

I went home and watched the first Die Hard movie and enjoyed it five times as much.

A Good Day to Die.. Referring to the Franchise

I love Die Hard. It was a revolutionary film with great elements of suspense, comedy, and pure awesomeness. The sequels were just okay, but were still at least watchable. But with A Good Day to Die Hard, I want to chug bleach. With such a poorly written script, I feel mentally raped with a chainsaw for seeing this movie. It's one of the worst films I've ever seen. 0/10. **** smear of a film.

    "boring and shallow"

the dialog and plot were about as deep as a parking puddle. Not in the same class as past "Die Hard" flicks. Bruce Willis was sleep walking through this worn out yarn.

Save your money and eat some popcorn at home.

Over the top ridiculous insanity - but in a good way.

    by

It started out slow.. almost 30 minutes of non-stop over the top action which really without any real meaningful dialog was just boring. But then the movie began to pick up steam when the theater laughed out loud during the cheesy mid-movie bit where the son is secretly listening in on Dad's regrets about "never being there". From that point on the movie was the old crazy campy over the top Die-Hard that we all know and love - right down to the insanely over the top ending that had everyone in the theater laughing out loud.

A Good Day to Die Hard

    Meh.

It was fun, occasionally, but no where near the quality story or direction of the others. I won't be adding this to my DVD collection.

Great fun and excitement - enjoyed seeing Mr Willis do it right

    by jamit

Bruce is getting a little older, but still knows how to entertain and perform. This script is fast paced and well written. Plot has great twist and the characters are engaging.

The action is fairly violent and the language is tough, but not too bad. Not sure I would take my 7 & 11 year old Boys to this show. They like toy guns too much already and I wouldn't want them to believe they could try some of these stunts, but it does have some comedic relief and definitely fine for young teens.

Chase scenes are not completly believable, but are very exciting and fun. This series could go own and own. Mr Willis as well, makes us older guys feel like we can still do anything. Keep'em coming Bruce!

So So Wanted This to be Good

    by Chelepi

Sadly I was very disappointed. Action was great. Over the top of course. But lack of real plot and the humor we are all accustomed to in a Die Hard movie. Bruce Willis still sexy as ever! He just gets better with age!

Way day ISN'T a Good Day To Die Hard

As I sat in the theater watching the previews of the upcoming movies showing, my wife turns to me and says, "I can't believe that we are here to see the fifth movie in a series". As I thought about this, I agreed. Yet every Die Hard movie keeps you full throttle in action, great special effects, and story lines. Bruce Willis can still pull these off after 17 years. We were both impressed with the new edition, and look forward to #6!!!!! For anyone who likes action films, this is a must go.
