A Good Day to Die Hard

    by ssmcgee

I thought this was fantastic. The special effects was amazing. Over 100 cars destroyed.
Bruce Willis has always been my favorite since Moonlighting with Sybil Sheppard. He always
(no matter what movie) has a comedic tone and expression. This is a must see if you like action films.

Not what I expected from a Die Hard movie

To me Die hard always meant a decent story with some laughs splashed around awesome explosions. What I got with this movie were explosions that got repetitive and a whiny father-son bonding story.

Fan of series, but not this movie

Ok, I am a big fan of the series. I can watch any of the first four over and over. However, if this is the best they could do for "Good Day" then they should have just stopped with the fourth movie. Yes, it's an action movie first, so plot should be secondary...but come on, this was bad. "Let's see, we need a story...I know, lets give him a son who's a mess up in another part of the world, and have Bruce go talk some sense into him; where, this New York cop walks right into the middle of an ambush on his son (who is actually an undercover fed)." Yep, Brucie blew his son's cover and has to fix it. The rest was so unbelievable, I just couldn't enjoy the movie anymore. My wife and I walked out of the theater wishing we had gone to see Hansel and Gretel instead.

Bruce Willis has still got it! As long as you remember that this movie is simply for entertainment you'll really like it. There's plenty of comedic one liners, references to the past and explosions to keep you well entertained!

    Alot of Action

It was an interesting movie. Would have been a good movie to see in 3D.

The ending was to easy to figure out even though the story had alot of twists.

A Good Day To Die Hard

Want to see a great action packed movie ~ you must see A Good Day To Die Hard. Great story line and of course great acting by Bruce Willis. The directing and cinematography were good. You get a good laught and maybe a tear or so. Enjoyed every minute of it and probably will see it again!

A Good Day To Die Hard

Well as being a fan of Bruce, and the "Die Hard Trilogies", my husband and I decided to go see "A Good Day To Die Hard". However, AGDTDH, lacks chemistry between John and his son; in addition, to the movie lacking a plot. On the contrary, it delivers plenty of action, Bruce Willis is in the best shape of his life, and I believe that they are trying to pass the torch to John Mcclanes son(Jack). Nevertheless, if you are a fan of Bruce Willis then sitting through AGDTDH is not a total bust, but don't expect some oscar worthy plot, because it does not exist in this movie.

"They'll pay for anything with 'Die Hard' in the title"

That's not a real quote, but it's what I envisioned the backers of this movie saying. For about 90% of this movie, I felt like a sucker. Far from the high standards of the Die Hard franchise, this one felt phoned-in. It had a typical spy action plot (I thought we were over the Russians), with some schmaltzy father-son pass-the-torch dialogue thrown in.

That said, the final action scene was really intense and way over the top, which IS what you expect from a Die Hard movie. For that 10 minutes or so, I was thoroughly entertained. I can't bring myself to move it up to "So-So", because you can probably just YouTube the last scene and save yourself the time and money of watching it in a theatre. Don't worry, you won't have missed any of the plot.

    Lots of action... what plot?

    by Kier42

I'm going to start off by stating that I don't have a very high standard for plot in action films. Given that, this was still a let down. This is my least favorite of the Die Hard movies, by a LONG SHOT.

    Action Movie Entertainment

If you like 1) Action Movies or 2) Bruce Willis then go see this! Watching it on the big screen is totally worth the 8$. Yes, compared to the other Die Hards its a much faster pace with more activity and less story-line, but Willis is awesome, he's got some really good, funny moments with his son, and ultimatley there's a lot of stuff blowing up. Not the best Die Hard flick of the group, but certainly worth seeing, as long as you know what you're in for.

    Better Than Anticipated

I'm a huge Die Hard fan and for me the ticket price was not a waste of money. I will say the plot was lacking. I felt myself lost and trying to figure out whats all the shooting about and why John is Moscow. The previous Die Hard films had a clear cut plot and villain and I wish that was more developed in this film. Other than that I definitely enjoyed the film, it was non stop action packed and lived up to the previous Die Hard films in that area. At first I was skeptical about the father/son dynamic but I actually liked that about this film. I guess it was only fitting the last film involved his daughter so now he had to make a mends with his son. If you are truly a Die Hard fan you won't be disappointed in my opinion.

A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD

I gave this sequal a go; but it was a close call from being a so/so. Some special effects are good; but most are way over the top and look rugged and fake. The story is an old one so it's predictable from start to finish. Also like many movies are doing today, scenes or lines from the trailers are not in the film at the theater (I don't like this trend in films at all). The acting is OK and the plot is just worn out from this franchise.

Love the series but STAY AWAY.

    by acdavis

The whole movie is unbearably awful, and not an awesomely bad movie that entertains you with how bad it is. The one-liners are awful, most of them don't even make sense (John keeps screaming 'I'm on vacation!' when he isn't even there on vacation) and all in all plays out like a badly written fanfic.
