    Critics were wrong

This was not a horrible movie, but it wasn't great either. It had some clever moments, but not enough to keep our attention for long. There were some interesting characters, but they never developed so we didn't get very attached to them. (Note: this movie is NOT for little kids. It would have horrified my 9-year-old.)

    Frankenweenie

It's the classic story about a boy and his dog. The fun part is that it is set in the classic horror movie genre. You will laugh and cry. It will entertain children from 10 to 81.

The movie is amazing in its use of puppets in the still shot cinematography as Tim Burton directs another holiday classic.

It's nice how we can get so attached to our pets. Nice memories.

When you were younger and had a pet, particularly a dog, then you may rekindle past feelings. That's what I experienced. A boy's best friend was his dog, and when the day happened that his dog died, it makes you remember when your pet died too. Through what you already know from Mary Shelly's "Frankenstein," happens, you want to see and hear that familiar bark again. It's funny how animals can make us feel. Lastly, I saw it in 3D - however, not surprising, 2D is satisfactory enough.

    Zzzzzz

I do not enjoy black and white. Period. That's why color was invented, to provide punch to the scene, interesting animation, etc. This dog should have stayed dead. Poor dog. Predictable, dull, but then I'm not a Tim Burton fan. Was hoping this would be holiday fun, but it was Tim Burton weird. Without the fun.

    Charming Gothic Tale

    by PJM74

The title almost says it all -- definitely a charming and strange gothic tale replete with clever dialogue and quirky characters. Stunning animation and visuals serve as scenic eye candy as well. If you're a Tim Burton fan then you'll probably like this.

    Frakenweenie Review

Movie had outstanding cinematography, it was phenomenal!! A typical Disney movie; predictable in plot. As an adult, I do enjoy Disney movies; however, 30 minutes in and I was asleep. Film definitely for the very, very young.

    It was cute!

I took my 4 year old son to see Frankenweenie last night and we liked it. It reminded me alot of Corpse Bride but most of Tim Burton's animated movies seem to be the same. It was cute.

    Not for kids

    by Gma D

Took my 7 year old grandson and his 12 year old sister. Big mistake for the younger one! At the opening credits he said, "I don't want to watch this movie." He lasted through most of it, but we had to leave when things got really scarey. Another kid about the same age and his mom were leaving at the same time. Oh well.

    Frankenweenie

BEWARE IF YOU ARE TAKING CHILDREN! Like other reviewers, I noticed that half the children in the theatre were sobbing by the end! It is dark and frightening! It should be rated PG-13. It is intense from the very beginning. There is grave-digging, flinging animal parts, lurching animal parts, animals brought back to life by being electrocuted. It is not for the faint of heart. Be very careful who you bring.

    TERRIBLE!

    by ttt100

I am an 11 year old boy. I went to see Frankenweenie for my birthday and It was so bad.
Like you were hoping after a while when was the dog gonna die and become Frankenweenie. I mean the movie plot was cute but the dialoge and the black and white just did not do it for me. Even when the movie was happy it looked dull because of the black and white. So I would tell you not to go to the movie.

    Oh NO!

    by

Frankenweenie really bit the BIG one! I was sooo embarrased! My 3 year old had her hand over her mouth most of the time scared to death! The stroyline was in poor taste and really pointless! I kept hoping we would see some color somewhere or some kind of redemption, but no such luck! Disapointing! Go see Hotel Transalvania!

    BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!

I was excited to see this 3D at IMAX. But the movie was a disappointment. I took my 9 year old grandson and he was VERY BORED with the whole thing...and he is not easily bored. Wish I had my $35 back.

Not for young kids and adults who want substance

    by leaaz

I thought since this was a Disney movie and it had good reviews it would be a fun afternoon with my 4 and 9 year old. WRONG!! I had to shield by 4 year old's face for half the movie and finally walk out before it ended because he was so traumatized. Don't waste your time or money! I didn't enjoy it either so had no problem leaving but wish I could get 90 minutes of my life back for something with more substance.
