    edge of your seat!

This is an excellent portrayal of the ugly situation at the time. Even though one knows the result, the actors and the screenplay keep you on the edge of your seat! Outstanding, can't miss- I would think especially for people who are not familiar with the events and the time.

    Tense

    by SherToo

Even though you know the ending, the tension keeps building. The terror the Americns were subjected too is all too real. As citizens of the US we have all become aware of the dangers in a country like that, where human life means nothing. The actors played their parts exceptionally well since as any normal person would be petrified to the point of paralysis placed in that situation. The scenes were well developed, especially the one in the marketplace with all the Iranians banging on their vehicle. The movie was well worth the price of admission! Would not be advisable for children under 16.

    definitely over rated

Because of the publicity, i went to see Argo. The name was not attractive, and i didn't know alot about the nature of the film. However, the story was one that should be told, the acting was awful, and because of the events being true, you leave and continue and think about the events. Had there been better actors, this would've been a much better film. Too much was missing.

Timely, Smart, Edge of your Seat

    by

Ben Affleck's film wowed us! We were at the edge of our seats from beginning to end, watching recent history unfold with sure-handed direction, fabulous acting, incredible attention to detail, and best of all an intelligent, big-hearted and honest telling of a complicated true story. Wow! I was still shaking when we left the theater and can't wait to see it again.

    ARGO

Unfortunately, the weather was so bad I couldn't get out. I'm hoping the movie theater will allow me to use the tickets on Tuesday 10-23-2012. I've been trying to contact them to ask what their policy is on using the tickets on another day, but when I call I only get a recording.

    Great Movie!

Affleck does a fantastic job as director and actor. Alan Arkin was superb! Kept my interest the entire time. What a great moment of CIA history brought to the big screen!

Argo - Must see to appreciate the title!

Ben Affleck's award winning performance was at it's finest; as a producer and extractor!
Argo provides an insight to the terror people lived through, political espionage and the true acts of heroism of individuals.
Be prepared to sit on the edge of your seat as you watch the unexpected. John Goodman and Alan Arkin provide needed bursts of comedy to break up such a serious situation.
Watch the credits, it's not over until you view them!
    A must see!

Entertaining even if slightly embellished account of the escape from Iran.

Well-executed, thrilling and with well placed touches of humor. It is "based on" actual events but with a liberal sprinkling of artistic license especially in the climax.

    WOW

    by s311

Call me a bad historian but I had not recalled the true story behind this movie and watched it anyway since the reviews were so high from users and critics. Can I just say that this movie had my heart pounding so fast at times and I have never had any movie do that to me. It was incredibly intense, real, and with superb acting from all the characters. A must see, even if you have read about the story, I can assure you it will still blow your mind. 2 thumbs all the way UP!

    Argo

Despite the criticism that this is not a true to facts documentary, it's a very good movie. And there's a lot here that is a good representation of the facts. Though I was a young adult at the time of these events, I didn't even remember the 6 that got out with the Canadians help. Very entertaining, very informing movie.

Ben Affleck on his game. The story was not politically slanted (which was refreshing). Based on fact and powerfully written and directed. Cried a little happy tear or two at end. Best pic of 2012.

    A history I was forgetting

    by luza97

I liked the approach that they did to this part of our history, 1979, that concerned in that time to everyone of us, the part everyone inmediatly knew about the Americans kept hostages, and this part no so often commented: the six Americans that took refuge in the Canadian Ambassy, how they lived those days . In some way this movie honored not only the help of one nation to another but a person that put his live in risk for others. I loved the way they treated the violence in that environment without make it excesive, like some times happen in other movies. And also I laugh some. Sadly we were only four people watching the screen, maybe because it was released last year, maybe because it was in a mall that has not to much advertisement of its reopening, I am sure it was not the movie. If you have not watch this movie, go now or wait for the DVD, but don't miss it. I am also going to buy the DVD once it is release. Kuddos to DIrectors Affleck and Clooney. Stayed until last letter!!

    StoryTelling at its best

Ben Afflick is a giant amongst story tellers.
On the edge of my chair for most of the movie. Believed it. Absolutely.
I really appreciated seeing a movie that represented "Leading" so believably. It's a constant topic in the corporate world but most of us don't know what it looks like.
Well, it looks like CIA Agent Mendez in Argo.

    Great, intelligent, movie

    by

This is the best movie I have seen in a while. It is well written and it literally keeps you on the edge of your seat. It has action but does not rely on the action to keep you interested it actually has a well-written script. Ben Affleck even looked good in his early 80's style.

    Don't Miss Argo!

This is a wonderful movie: gripping plot line, good acting. One of Ben Affleck's best ever. Go and take your adult friends and family. Some may even remember the story. I didn't.
