    Excellent Film!

Argo is the story of how U.S. and Canadian governments worked together to get six American diplomats out of Iran during the Iran Embassy Hostage of 1979-81. Ben Affleck's moving film was entertaining as well as an insightful look in how this country responded to this momentus occasion. The acting was excellent and the story was riveting.

    Argo = Awesome

Love the period pieces that splice together the real imagery/clips into the film. I believe this was very well done in directing, acting and multi-location shoots. It was seamless and suspenseful. Two hours flew. Would love to see this get best director or best film. Go see this film!

    Argo

Well told (almost) true story of hostage rescue with incredible suspense. The early rhetoric of explaining the history of US-Iran relations was, unfortunately, not accurate--Hollywood PC a la George Clooney. Otherwise it kept the essence of the rescue. Well acted and beautifully directed. Audience actually applauded.

This movie is outstanding. Incredible accuracy, suspense and even though you know the ending you will be on the edge of your seat the entire time. Just enough timely humor to take the tension down a notch at the right times. You must see this movie. Affleck is American treasure and this movie will go down in history like Schindler's List or Saving Private Ryan. By far the best movie I have seen this year and maybe in many years.

    Great, intelligent, movie

    by

This is the best movie I have seen in a while. It is well written and it literally keeps you on the edge of your seat. It has action but does not rely on the action to keep you interested it actually has a well-written script. Ben Affleck even looked good in his early 80's style.

    Argo was great!

Fantastic movie. This movie kept me in suspense from beginning to end. My wife and I and college age son all loved it. As a period piece, it was very well done e.g. clothes and hairstyles, etc. I highly recommend this movie.

    A Gripping True Story

It had every reason to fail, but the scheme to rescue these American's (and the movie) succeeded in spades. It's a great tribute to Canadian-American friendship, CIA smarts, Hollywood savvy, and living in the free world.

    Real and Mesmorizing

Argo is a immersive experience which takes you back in time, and places you right in the middle of the story, showing every facet of it.

    ARGO, Go!

Finally an action flick with brains. Low body count, slow car chase, no weapons. ARGO has real characters, a terrific story, and suspense (even though you know the outcome going in).

    Edge of your seat

You know a movie is good when its about an actual event, you know it was a success, and your still on the edge of your seat.

Can a Movie Really be THIS Good?

I've thought long and hard about this. But I've gotta say it. "Argo" is the most exciting movie I've seen in my entire life. And this is a movie where I already know the ending. Hell, I remember when it happened.

In addition to star quality from Affleck, Goodman, and Arkin, a brilliant decision was made to use off-the-radar actors for the hostages so that one didn't focus on the actors but rather could think solely about the characters being portrayed.

The pace never lets up. And the stand-up-and-cheer ending represents the best in movie-making.

    ARGO

Movie is a reminder that we don't always make the best decisions when aligning with foreign powers and it often comes back to bite us. Having lived thru the Iran hostage crisis I was surprised that the movie was so gripping and exciting. I got nervous and yet I knew the outcome. Affleck did a terrific job, direction was excellent, recreating the time and event were very authentic. See this movie.

Excellent drama but with some Hollywood bias

This is a very entertaining movie and a great story. Honor and thanks to the real heroes that pulled this astonishing caper off. Unfortunately the movie ended with a historical statement from Jimmy Carter taking credit for the release of the hostages after 444 days of captivity. The historical truth is that Carter authorized a military rescue attempt that failed miserably, losing 9 american lives. This was a huge embarrassment for Carter and the US. The movie also neglected to mention that the hostages were released the day that Reagan was sworn into office as President. They were not released while Carter was President. The truth is sometimes inconvenient for the typical Hollywood bias.

    Uncomfortable history reminder

Lest media propaganda lull us into believing that Iran and Iranians are peaceful and democratically-minded, ARGO is a grim reminder of what happens when violent, ignorant, mindless Islamists decide to gather in the streets under the guise of "student protests". A superb film, had me on the edge of my seat even though I knew the ending. Good job, Affleck.

He goes, She goes, we all go to Argo!

Gripping, great story. Our audience cheered and applauded. I am sure the story got a little of the Hollywood treatment, but that's what makes movies great.
