    On The Edge of My Seat

    Even if you didn't live through the Iran hostage crisis the first time, this movie will immerse you in that era, much the way All The President's Men takes you back to Watergate and Apollo 13 takes you back to the golden age of NASA and critical turning points in American history. The casting/acting/direction/storytelling is excellent.

    Since it's based on a true story, those of us who lived through the hostage crisis basically know how it's going to turn out, yet you find yourself on the edge of your seat, over and over again. I have the same reaction when watching Apollo 13 even though I've seen it multiple times. To me, that the mark of a great movie--when you can get swept up in it time after time.

    When channel surfing, there are certain movies that I can't pass up when I stumble upon them--Die Hard, Young Frankenstein, Apollo 13, etc. This may turn out to be one of those movies for me.

    Argo

    Loved it. Unlike other movies that create a caricature of the heroes and villains, Argo does a splendid job of portraying the characters true to life. Well done. The pace is just right and the build up of tension to the ending is done superbly. Fantastic masterpiece!

    Argo

    A very informative, suspenseful and well-told story. It is very poignant for those of us who remember the Iran hostage crisis but never knew this part of the story. It was fun to see the late 70's setting, wardrobe and hair styles and to realize that typewriters were being used then, among other things. A great cast who played their roles brilliantly and I found the cinematography effective in bringing the story along along with the music to enhance the setting and human feelings and suffering being displayed. Don't miss it!

    Exceptional

    Argo def lives up to the hype. It's truly amazing how this film grabs you and fills you with the anxiety, heart pounding moments the characters are felling with little dialogue, you too feel like it takes days for just one minute to pass by. Exceptionally directed, acted and filmed, it's a movie you wake up the next morning thinking about. Kudos Ben Affleck, writers, actors, cinematographers

    ARGO

    Excellent movie...even knowing the ending, you will be on the edge of your seat.
    I was not prepared for the humor involved which was a great diversion...but then Alan Aarkin is a given! He was perfect.
    Four of us went and each one of us thoroughly enjoyed the movie.

    Argo

    Loved this movie. Lots of action and excitement. Not made-up fictional action, but a real situation played out in real-life to save people's lives. Great movie with a nail-biting ending. The settings and photography brought you right into the plot and made you feel like you were actually there.

    Intense

    Despite knowing the outcome of the plot, it was still scary and intense. The acting was superb. Ben Affleck did a great job telling the story.

    Ben Afleck is become a heck of a director.

    Very well done, suspenseful film who biggest flaw may be that it sometime may play they suspense angle a little too dramatically. However the (true) story is top notch.

    Argo - fantastic!

    Great film! An action packed spy thriller of the highest order, and it's a true story. Wow! Would have been a 10 but for the absurd plug to feckless Jimmy Carter, who takes credit for Ronald Reagan's securing of our hostages' return. Go see it anyway.

    Yougo, Igo, Argo

    Very suspenseful and film is well casted with believable characters in every instance. Alan Arkin and John Goodman seemed to have a great deal of fun in the roles that they played. Ben Afleck's style was well suited to his role.

    Well done suspense

    Ben Affleck is a great director as well as actor. Even though you know how this will end, the movie keeps you on the edge of your seat. Alan Arkin is fantastic as a Hollywood producer and has the funniest lines. Very entertaining, and it reminded us about the Iranian hostage crisis - what a terrible ordeal for the majority who were in captivity over 400 days. This movie tells the story of a heroic rescue and wonderful cooperation between the US and Canada.

    Great suspenseful movie

    Went to see "Argo" today. Excellent film.

    Kudos to the storytellers (produced by Ben Afflect and George Clooney) and the real persons of whom the story is about.

    And, to make matters almost perfect, not one person in the theater blocked my view, used their phone or talked while the movie was showing. How was this possible?

    I was the only person seeing the movie!
    Had the whole movie to myself.

    Where?
    At the City Cinemas Village East Cinema
    181-189 Second Avenue, New York, NY, where I took an afternoon off and saw this moving movie.

    Go see it while it is still in theaters, and if you miss it on the big screen get a DVD of the film. You will benefit from the story, for sure.

    Best Movie...Understatement

    This is a "must go to" movie! Even though we now know the out come of this historical event, the movie keeps you on the edge of your seat. It is a movie that should be seen by all audiences and will, I think, become one of those movie that will be added to the short list of all time great movies.

    Great! Well written, directed, and acted.

    Very good movie. Same caliber as "All the Presidents Men". Great screenplay and writing. Definitely worth the price of admission. I'm very impressed with Affleck's directing and acting.
