GREAT MOVIE! really well-done and told a story that needed to be told...
Even though you know the ending, you are riveted to the outcome. A MUST SEE

    Argo

For an event that occured in the past I think it covered all the details that were available at the time. It was a covert event put on by the CIA and Canada. I had to think back in that time frame of the hostages and how they were freed after the 6 were on their way home....I would recommend this movie very highly and I would see it again. The acting was good and so were the special effects .

    "Argo"

This movie was everything a film should be. No wonder it received the Academy Award. Five stars!

I wish I could say the same for my Fandango gift card. It took was too much effort to get a ticket!

When we first tried to use it at the theater, we were informed that it could only be redeemed online. So we returned to our rental condo, ordered our tickets and then went to a local library to have them printed out because we are on vacation and do not have a printer with us.

We thought we were all set at last, but when we tried to our printouts at the theater, we were informed that we had to go to Customer Service to have them scanned. There we had to wait in line for several minutes before this last step was completed and we were finally admitted into the theater.

We enjoyed the movie but it was a real hassle to get in the door.

On the edge of your seat from start to finish

Argo is a great movie. You will be on the edge of your seat during the whole movie. There are also a number of funny parts of the movie. It is a "must see" in my book. You will not be disappointed. The language is a bit "real" for most of it, so it isnt intended for children. Thats why it is rated R.

    Argo Fluck Yourself!

    by

I absolutely loved this movie and have been recommending it to everyone. There aren't many movies I would consider paying to watch a second time, but this is one of them. Perfectly cast and acted, we should surely see Best Actor nominees from this movie. I'm thinking we may see Best Screenplay and Best Director also. How does a movie keep you in suspense even when you know the ending? I don't know, but it did! I was literally on the edge of my seat.

    Argo

What a memorable movie! The portrayal of the Iranian hostage rescue was excellent. I was riveted to the screen and although I knew the outcome, I was still experiencing the fears, anxieties and tension that the actors were sharing with their audience. I did research the actual event to compare the accuracy of the film version, and the director did follow the details of the event fairly closely minus some adaptations necessary to filming along with heightening the drama of the event especially at the end. Ben Affleck is to be applauded for this awesome movie. I have recommended Argo to many and especially those young people who were perhaps too young to remember this historical event as an opportunity to look back at our history and the details surrounding the actual rescue which were unknown to many of us who do remember this event. What a fascinating story! Don't miss this film!

    Leave out the foulness

    by mromine

The story line of the movie was interesting and entertaining. However, the F-word could have been left out. I seriously doubt that the Canadians used that word much in the 70's and I know that many Americans didn't use it as prolifically as was portrayed in the film. Hollywood needs to clean up a bit.

    Best movie of the year

I didn't know the backstory or the actual events that inspired the movie, but it still kept my attention. The storyline was setup well and it was easy to follow. I especially liked the humor of John Goodman and Alan Arkin's characters.

    Argo

Loved this movie. Lots of action and excitement. Not made-up fictional action, but a real situation played out in real-life to save people's lives. Great movie with a nail-biting ending. The settings and photography brought you right into the plot and made you feel like you were actually there.

The movie you didn't know you wanted to see.

Saw Argo last night. I had read a couple of reviews that Affleck got the elements right in this political docudrama. To simply agree with the previous statement, would be an injustice of the worst kind. Affleck and is cast and crew knocked this one out of the park! From the historically mostly over-looked true story subject to the technical filming techniques; Affleck has gone out of his way to deliver a movie worth spending money to see. As for the plot and level of suspense; you will be grabbing the armrest of you chair in suspense - even if you know how the historical situation came to an end.

To sum it up: I see many movies a month. This is the first movie I have seen in many years that is worthy of taking my time to sit-down and right a review , let alone a recommendation for.

Go see this movie! you won't be disappointed.

The film was excellent....great acting, and gave insight and understanding to what took place with the hostages. Was able to include the viewer in the emotions, reactions, tensions etc.
Both my husband and i liked it very much. The film also reinforced the power of committment to belief and the variance of one's moral barometer.

    Excellent film

    Excellent story very well told

    by mfsheff

Argo is very well done. A little too political to start with but then moves along well. Great acting especially by Alan Arkin and Bryan Cranston. Very much worth seeing. Affleck has come into his own as director.

EXCELLENT LESSON THAT HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF ....
BENGHAZI COME TO MIND ; IE , IN 5 OR 10 YEARS TIME A MOVIE WILL BE MADE TO
DEMONSTRATE THAT OBAMA AND HIS INNER CIRCLE DID IN FACT PERVERT , DISTORTE AND TWIST THE TRUTH .
TO WIN THE ELECTION AND OR THAT HE IS A FOOL BELONGING TO THE SCHOOL
THAT ISLAM EXTREMISM DOESN'T EXIST .
