    Great movie

This was a great movie. Even if you already know what the eventual outcome will be (because it's based on a true event) there is still a lot of tension and suspense and you can feel with the characters. The acting was great! Storytelling was very good but the pace could have been a bit faster at times. But that is already nitpicking. Me and my wife we enjoyed the movie very much.

    It looked so real.

My family and I lived in Teheran for 2 years, coming home just about 4 months before the revolution. I couldn't imagine how the film could recreate the city (and the time) so well. I drove through those gates (to the embassy) at least once a week, I avoided those staring eyes whenever I summoned the courage to go to the bazaar, I wondered if my Iranian bahji (maid) could be trusted with my possessions and my children, I said a thank-you prayer as our plane (a Pan-Am for us) lifted out of Meharbad Airport. And I sat transfixed in our new quarters in Indianapolis watching the scenes I had just left turn to madness. The film caught not just the appearance of Teheran, but the atmosphere, perfectly. Ben Affleck deserves an Oscar for his direction at the very least.

    Could've been tv made

T V character actors ALL paid scale!

Not academy award level---Walmart or Target kmockoff of Tom Clancy.

Harrison Ford never won a best picture & he would have been better.
AFFLECK is a Hollywood CIA agent. Look for more historical revisions from him.

AFFLECK was SHOCKED he won; voting like POTUS voting was fixed!

    Breath-holder

I got so wrapped up in the plot that I discovered that I was gripping the seat arm and lifting the Swissair off the ground myself. Affleck deserves all the rewards he can receive for this one. Just hope we don't see a bunch of poorly made knock-offs following in the wake of the success of Agro.

    ARgo

This is a really great movie. Not only are you on the edgeof your seat throughout the film, you are also laughing out loud. And then you walik out feeling real proud to be an American.
Ben Affleck deserves an oscar for this picture, but not sure if its best screenplay, directing or his underscored low key acting that really hit the mark.

ARGO Enjoy the ride! Oscar bound for Afleck!!

There is not one thing negative to say about ARGO! So suspenseful! This was just all around good film making! Although we know how it turns out, Afleck led us down this suspense filled ride.

I had no idea Ben Afleck was this intense. So far, best movie i have seen all year! He really knows how to direct--his attention to detail, the pacing. All of the actors were superb! Bob Cranston is finally getting his due. Thank goodness for the comic relief from Arkin and Goodman, to relieve some of the tension. Most, if not all of the audience got up to leave when the credits started to roll--but were soon called back to watch.

    ARGO, Go!

Finally an action flick with brains. Low body count, slow car chase, no weapons. ARGO has real characters, a terrific story, and suspense (even though you know the outcome going in).

    Argo

This is one of the best movies that I have seen in a long time. Even though I knew how it had to end, I was on the edge of my seat the second half of the movie with my heart in my throat. My only complaint is that, although he did a great job, Ben Affleck does not look like a Tony Mendez.

    ARGO

A great movie! A.true story is sometimes better than fantasy. We need more CIA agents like the one who brought our people out of the violent revolitionary Iran in 1979. Go see it and be reminded how fortunate we are to live in this great free country...AMERICA

    Must See!

    by

Ben Affleck is back in Argo, and what a return! Based on a true story, Ben must rescue 6 americans from Iran after the US embassy has been taken over. So he comes up with a plan to act as a film crew to get them out of the country. Everyone, from the Iranians trying to capture these 6 people, to Ben, to the actors in the CIA, everyone was phenomenal. You could feel the stress as the 6 americans hide in the Canadian embassy, hiding for their lives. The scenery is amazing, whether its in the desert of Iran, or the city. The end is very satisfying, yet keeps you guessing till the last second. At the end, it shows the actual photos of the real people, compared to the ones in the movie. I liked how they incorporated the actual history into the movie, and cool that the character Ben plays resides in my home state of Maryland. Some of the material is graphic, public hangings, close range shooting executions, etc. If you love thrillers, suspense, based on actual events, youll love ARGO!

    Best Movie in Years

Absolutely go see it. For those old enough to remember it, it takes you back to the days of the crisis. For those that aren't, it gives you a real taste of what it was like.

    Argo

    by bminey

Well written, well acted and very funny for a movie based on a real event from a tough time in our country's history. I highly recommend this movie for those seeking a serious, thought provoking movie with great moments of levity.

    Argo

If you like serious movies based on real history with terrific acting, this is a must go! Thoroughly enjoyable and lots of food for thought. A bit scary to think that it took place in 1979-80, but seemed like it could be a current event!

    Great movie - worth seeing

    by AKSoto

Stayed true to facts from the declassified CIA files which shows life is more intense than human imagination. People clapped at the end and stayed for the credits.
