An Epic End to the Best Superhero Story

Some of the best cinematography and realistic action scenes I've seen. 'The Dark Knight Rises' goes to the more mature approach, with intense dialogue and true emotions. Christopher Nolan has created a phenomenon with these incredibly powerful films and has raised the bar. I recommend watching 'Batman Begins' and 'The Dark Knight' before watching 'Rises' to see the connection of all three. Have fun! I'm sure you will.

Can't wait for the next Dark Knight movie!!!

A roller coaster ride of intense action. Loved it. Brilliant cast. Great plot....edge of my seat most of the movie. Catwoman is some wonderfully catty lines and Anne Hathaway showed she can pull off kick-*** and sexy. I want to see it again....and (SPOILER ALERT) see the next movie with Robin!

    brilliantly done

The film is great - script well-written and cast is great as always. But the IMAX theater viewing really put it over the top.

If you want to see this film try to get to an IMAX theater.

    All around greatness

The film was everything I expected. I've been waiting for this film for the past three years and yes, the wait was worth every second of it. I did not know what was happening next and only one director is capable of reinventing the franchise and not killing it. The new roles that each individual character contributed was sheer brilliance. Even though Nolan said no more films are going to be made he open up so many unique story lines. For example, Bane's unique story is worth making a film out of because of his realistic traits instead of some overdosed venom dimwit. Also opened new path for a special character in the film. Don't want to spoil the film but lets see if you can guess who it is.

but overall I will go see this film another 3 more times .yeaa

    Anxious

I saw the movie in an IMax theater. I took my 8-year old nephew. Having seen Spiderman and loving it, I expected the same from Batman. Not sure if it was bc of what happened in Colorado, but bc of the loud music always in the background, I felt constantly nervous. The loud music in the background, made it diffcult to sometimes hear or understand the dialogue. I also did not expect so much shooting, which made me even more nervous. and anxious I did not like Batman's voice; it sounded very android like, I exptected Darth Vader to jump out any second. I loved Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway and the main actor who was a police officer and became a detective. I am still processing the movie and have mixed feelings about the ending too. But again, that may be bc of what happened in Colorado. Unlike Spiderman, I am not sure I would take an 8-year old to see this movie.

Weakest of the three recent Batman movies

    by MichalT

The first two Batman movies set a very high bar; they both had solid, coherent plots along with incredible special effects and performances by all the leads. In Batman Rises... the performances were fine, and the special effects were pretty snazzy... but the plot was muddled and unbelievable, plus a large chunk of the movie Batman was on his back recovering from whatever dumb plot device got him beat up in the first place. I'm disappointed that such an incredible series has ended with a whimper instead of the bang that it deserved.

It was a satisfying conclusion to the Trilogy

    by

Lots of good to say - don't want to spoil it. Beautiful movie, great action, good plot, well acted. It summed up the saga very well.

Go but don't believe the hype

Maybe the movie was too hyped up leading me to have high expectations. I was disappointed.
I felt the previous ones in the trilogy were much better then this one.
I loved the cinematography of Gotham. Loved the batman gadgets. Loved the batman suit and love Christian Bale. But I felt that the beginning of the movie had many silly mistakes and ridiculous decision making by some of the characters.
However, the parts after Batman escapes the pit were entertaining. I figure I need to watch this movie again to maybe appreciate it more???

Better than most movies, not better than most Batmans

    by Brus

Compared to the works other works of Christopher Nolan, this one is the weakest of the Batman films, or any of his films. It still looks good, has interesting plot ideas, incredible acting and over all a good film compared to most on the screen -- but compared to the other Nolan offerings, it lacks the thematic consistency he is known for. If Batman Begins was about "fear" and The Dark Knight was about "choices", what is this one about? Dunno.

But that is bad praise only compared to the brilliance of the over films. Go see it. It's fun. You'll like it if you liked the other ones. You just won't like it as much as the other ones.

    The Dark Knight Rises

We loved this movie! It was long, but never slow or boring. The only problem was the speakers for the music were evidently just to our left and we could not hear all the dialog due to the music being too loud. We've already said we'll have to rent the movie when it comes out on DVD so we can hear what was said.

    The Dark Knight Definately Rises

A very fitting end to the Dark Knight Trilogy. Unlike many trilogy enders or sequels that try to do too much in order to go out with a bang, this latest installment is perfectly balanced. The cinematography, acting, costuming, character assignments, and of course the story left me unable to decide whether or not this took the place of the former as my favorite. Christopher Nolan's talent for escalating drama with strong story telling, as can be seen from The Prestige to Inception to his Trilogy masterpiece, has distinguished him from other directors. He is definately amongst the leads in the pack. And he hasn't even revealed his conception and ideas for Superman yet. GIven his ability to write and attract great acting talents (while commanding their best efforts), Nolan delivers wonderfully.

    Dark Knight Rises

I recommend seeing the movie. For Batman fans, it contains the dark lure craved.
Cool new "bat" plane, and Ann Hathaway looks amazing in the cat suit, as well as when she is riding on the batpod motorcycle.
Bane is an evil villian with a terrorist-minded agenda. He and Batman duke it out, but the aged batman with all of his war scars from the past is not all of what he used to be.
The story thickens as more dramatic situations happen making you tense in your seat wondering exactly what is going to be the outcome.
With touching lines from Alfred on Bruce Wayne's future, and great camera work, this Christopher Nolan film is a must-see!

    Terrific

Great action, great cast, tense and emotional at times and thrilling at others. Great pacing to the film despite the length, and a very satisfying ending. Some plot holes or issues but nothing unusual for a big superhero film. I would say Batman Begins: B+, The Dark Knight: A+, The Dark Knight Rises, A-
