A Great End to a Wonderful Legend, The Dark Knight Rises

    by Mar22

I have seen this movie twice and I was amazed both times I've seen the movie. You have see it more than once because you can miss something the first time you watch it, but next time you'll be like, 'Okay, that does make sense and now I see the connect between all 3 movies.' I believe Christopher Nolan hit the nail on the head with his ending and I am happy with the ending. I recommend this movie to anyone who is a Batman fan or even if you're not, it's good entertainment. But I do recommend watching the other 2 movies, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, before seeing this movie or you'll miss the connection of all 3 movies.

Everything I wanetd it to be and more!

I'm not one to go to premiere shows but my lil brother visited me in NYC so I took him. We got to the theatre at 9:40pm for the 12:20am showing. I never thought I'd say this but it was so worth the wait. It was action-packed obviously with twists and turns...an emotional roller coaster, which was unexpected...and just a solid movie overall. Ever actor was great...Bane was terrifyingly awesome. I can go on and on. GREAT movie.

Masterful End to Nolan's Batman Franchise

In short, one of the best movies I have seen in a long time.

Stays true to the darker and grittier universe Nolan created for Batman.

    Gordon-Levitt almost steals the show.

Bane is one of the most awesomely evil characters I have seen on film.

    A must see!

The Dark Knight Rises...The Legend Ends In IMAX

I enjoyed the dark knight rises. The director tried to much to top off the dark knight, the acting by Tom Hardy as bane was great but not as great as Heath Ledger playing the joker. The music was awesome especially "The Fire Rises" number. The surround sounds and picture were amazing...for now on I'm seeing all my favorite movies that will be releasing in theaters in IMAX. The story was good...good enough for a good ending...? This movie is good enough to see it twice or even three times. Well my opinion...any age is acceptable as long as the parents or guardians allow there teens or children to watch this movie...and of coarse any underage teen or child must be with a parent/guardian, family member or even an older friend.

    The Dark Knight Rises

    by glodys

First of all, I have seen each of Chris Nolan's films and I've come to expect great things from him. The Dark Knight Rises is a real triumph of movie making. Resisting the gimmicky 3-D garbage and overdone CGI, Nolan once again brings the question "How'd they DO that?" to the viewers' minds.

I predicted a few of the plot twists, but that doesn't mean that they were "predictable". A fellow movie buff that I saw the film with was not so keen on what was going to happen next.

Also, if there was complaint I heard over and over about The Dark Knight (#2 in the series) it was that Batman voice. In Rises, they seemed to have learned from their past, not giving Batman much to say. (You may complain about Bane's voice, however...starting now!)

Over all, it was a great movie and a perfect finale to Nolan's contribution to the Batman saga. Just don't make the mistake I made. Do your research and find out if you have a true IMAX screen nearby, and then go there. You'll thank me.

    Hot Batman Motorcycle...

I loved this movie.I went on Saturday July 21, 2012, Sheepshead Bay. The theatre was great, the movie was great, and there was an abundance of security. Cops, also the Manager of the movie theatre, and the movie attendants were all there screening ticket holders. They made sure everyone was safe and could concentrate on the movie.

P.S. At the end, a round of applause from the Batman Fanatics. Had a geat time !!!

Epic! But not the best of the three

It really was amazing and worth the money to see it in IMAX. I'm glad they did not go for the 3D crap. I loved it, not as much as the second, but still. So far movie of the year for me. I like the Nolan reality based story and no catch-phrase dialogs. Makes the characters even more believable.
And we can all stop with the best superhero movie ever, because the Nolan trilogy goes beyond that cliche generalization. It is simply a great movie.

    ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!

This was an absolutely phenomenal film. The Dark knight was great because the sadistic and sociopathic nature of The Joker made it a really dark movie. Rises is a story of the destruction of the soul of humanity and then redemption. It is a story of triumph that literally makes you want to fist pump and scream in the theater. Please don't be a nerd about it and say that it doesn't follow the comic book storyline. Good lord you people need to get a life. Enjoy the movie because it is great in scope, emotion, and story. I absolutely loved it. You gotta see it!

It was a satisfying conclusion to the Trilogy

    by

Lots of good to say - don't want to spoil it. Beautiful movie, great action, good plot, well acted. It summed up the saga very well.

    The Dark Knight Rises

Best movie I've seen in years! Of course, the cinematography, as expected was great, as was the sound - must see in IMAX, but the story had a unique twist which begged for sequels...

The Dark Knight Rises FAR above my expectations.. MUST GO

Easily the best "final sequel" that has ever been put to the screen. OK, you're saying "that's not saying much", I get it, the movie can't stand on it's own because it is the culmination of character development which means that all movies in the series must be considered.
The film was phenomenal, there wasn't a single scene included that didn't need to be, and there wasn't a need for further explanation. I saw the movie in IMAX (which I highly recommend) and plan on going again this weekend to see in in a standard format. Every actor and actress in the film rose to the challenge of Noland's Opus, and there wasn't a single disappointment.

    MUST SEE..

    Very good but predictable

If you haven't seen this third installment of the Nolan trilogy then you are missing out! It's full of action packed scenes. It will even give you chills when Batman shows up for the first time. The music went along great with the movie and increased the intensity of some of the scenes.

The only thing that made me feel indifferent to it was the way Bane was portrayed and how predictable the storyline was. Somehow, I knew what was going to happen next unlike I did with The Dark Knight. But maybe that's because I'm a huge Batman and Christopher Nolan fan.

Bane's voice was hard to decipher at times through his mask and weird voice. You'll see what I mean when you watch the movie. There were a few words that I actually had to repeat in my head to make sure I heard him correctly.

But don't let that stop you from seeing the summer's biggest blockbuster. It's all that you would hope it to be, especially if you're a Batman nerd!

    Long but enjoyable

    by jhs39

Definitely worth seeing. The 2 hour 46 minute running time seems excessive on paper but goes by quickly in the theater. This one lacks a villain as memorable as the last film's Joker--Bane is certainly imposing, but he doesn't have much personality. Anne Hathaway was maybe supposed to make up for that partly with her snarky take on Batman frenemeny Catwoman, and she is surprisingly good--certainly a huge improvement over Halle Berry in the dreadful Catwoman flick. I'm looking forward to seeing this again. Maybe Catwoman deserves another shot at her own movie if Hathaway comes back and DC can be prevented from making past mistakes (like greenlighting the previous Catwoman flick or firing Joss Whedon from Wonder Woman). The Dark Knight Rises probably isn't a classic but it's solidly entertaining and concludes the trilogy (which everyone seems to forget at this point didn't start out with such a fantastic film) in a highly satisfying manner.

    DARK KNIGHT RULES

    by

Without giving anything away for those who havent seen it (WTF are you waiting for?? Theyre playing it all night!! No excuses!!) I will say this: You will be hypnotized by the characters, left to right, especially Bane (most menacing voice ever, esp. on IMAX) There are some moments that drag, but for nearly 3 hours, (Dont complain if youre seeing this at midnight knowing that you have to go to work in a few hours. Your fault.) this film flies by the storylines and the action around it. You wont be disappointed. Batman Rules!!!
