    Great Movie

This was a really good movie! It was my husbands first 3D movie so we were excited to go and we weren't disappointed with it. I would definitely watch it again,

This movie was gory and had a lot of curse words in it, but in the same hand it was funny and had a lot of action in it. If you like action, this is the movie to see.

    Good fun!

3D was perfect for this flick. I enjoyed the simple plot and one liners. It was PG-13 The ONLY problem was the cursing. I'm no prude and I've slung my share of F-bombs but it didn't enhance the humor. It made the one liner oddly out of place.

    Otherwise: Great fun!

    Wasted money

    by

I love this type of movie, but this one was horrible! Haven't been so disappointed in a movie in a long time. Can't believe they actually made this movie. It could have been great, but sadly it was a flop! Wait until its released on TV for free.

    Great 3D and Special Effects

I really enjoyed the movie overall; however, the updated language used was a little too colorful at times. Actors did a great job! The Special and 3D effects, and cinematography were extremely good; best 3D movie I've seen in years. It is an adult movie, especially with the colorful language, and the high amount of killings/blood splashed throughout. All in all, I really liked the movie and recommend it to all that like great special effects, 3D and an updated take on an old time fairy tale.

    Solid twist on classic tale

    by D-Nutz

This film is what it is...a fun, action-packed adventure flick with mild frights mixed in. Jeremy Renner (as Hansel) did an admirable job, however, Gemma Arterton (Gretel) was less than believable and downright wooden to be quite honest. The 3D visuals were pretty decent but sparingly on display in my opinion. All in all, solid if not spectacular flick, probably not worth the trip to the movie theater on its own accord but worth the rent when released on Bluray/DVD.

Great except for the silly anachronisms....

Good acting, story, effects, and very good 3D. Only annoying thing was the use of 20th century slang in a 19th century story taking place, for the most part, in the area of Augsburg, Germany. Other anachronisms, such as an apparent use of insulin injections (seriously!) had nothing much to do with the story until the---well, you'll see why they contrived that whole thing without really needing to...

You'll see some Van Helsing-influenced gadgetry and, as you would expect, some Brothers Grimm imagery, but it's great. Well worth the money and the 85 minutes watching. Beware that the shortness of the film means that you're going to suffer twenty minutes worth of previews, etc., before the movie starts...

    Good Saturday Night

The movie was funny with a lot of good action scenes. I was entertained for a couple of hours which is what you want in a movie. Critics don't like things that don't make us contemplate our existence. Its not that. Its a fun way to spend a Saturday.

    Not very realistic....LOL

    by jsikey

It certainly was different than your typical shoot them up, blow them away movie. As long as you know what you're going to, and don't have too high of expectations, it was a great break from reality!

    H&G Kick Ass

This is a fun, albeit gory version of two kids wronged, now PO'd and payback has been happening for a long long time. Its fun to combine old time settings with modern day language.

Hansel and Gretel kick 3D Butt !!!

This was not the story from my childhood, no . It was way better!!!
The 3D actually had me flinch a few times and the storyline was pretty well written. The witches and their broomsticks were awesome.
If you want a fun entertaining evening. While this movie is definately not for children, due to the violence and language. You got to go and it doesn't matter if it's a date or with friends or even by yourself. You won't be disappointed for this was one Cool Flick !!!

    Hansel and Gretel Lifepath

    by

The film ?Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters? centers around the close knit duo of Hansel (played effortlessly by Jeremy Renner) and Gretel (played in an incredible way by Gemma Arterton). Both Hansel and Gretel are pretty much forced into a life of being witch hunters after they dare to eat from a secluded candy house in the forest. I enjoyed the fact that Hansel and Gretel were created as characters of a brother and sister who stand by each other through good and challenging times. Hansel and Gretel?s character evolutions are indirectly shaped by a discreet white witch named Mina (played in a heartfelt way by Pihla Viitala) and a troll named Edward. In all fairness, Famke Janssen also played her witch character in a convincing fashion and in a way that also helped strengthen the tight bond that Hansel and Gretel have. ?Hansel and Gretel? is fine for those who are ok with watching films that mash fantasy and dark comedy in the plots.

SO SO movie but worth a look

    by cacarat

This movie had curses, gore and was campy. Not bad for today's horror fans. Plenty of action with a weak plot but remember, this was originally a fairy tale. Go see it if you like real witches and light horror. 3 stars out of 5

    Hansel and Gretel

pretty good if you like supernatural, buffy, angel, etc. While there was blood and guts, it wasn't gory or gruesome, quickly off the screen, as well.

    Pleasantly surprised

    by prfun

From seeing the trailer I thought this movie would miss the mark but thanks to some great killing scenes it was worth watching. I'm not a fan of too much CGI but this movie worked despite some bad acting. Not for the little ones and I'm glad to see that. It's about time Hollywood started thinking about the parents a little as there's been a sharp shift in making kid movies recently
