Wasted money

I love this type of movie, but this one was horrible! Haven't been so disappointed in a movie in a long time. Can't believe they actually made this movie. It could have been great, but sadly it was a flop! Wait until its released on TV for free.

Gemma Arterton!!

hot outfit great graphics with the witches " a lot of 1 liners" i would wait till it comes out on netflix or on demand. not to stay it wasn't good but if you see it 3D is the way to go. other then that short movie sets up for a second

Not very realistic....LOL

It certainly was different than your typical shoot them up, blow them away movie. As long as you know what you're going to, and don't have too high of expectations, it was a great break from reality!

Definitely NOT Your Childhood Fairy Tale!

Great storyline and visual effects. Healthy amount of gore and swearing with a peppering of nudity. Nice action flick, but DO NOT bring the kids! I thought the costuming and makeup could have been done a little better and there might have been a plothole or two, but overall a really well-done movie.

Not the Fairy Tale your Mother told to you, IT's BETTER!!!!!!! This movie is the perfect combination of Action and Drama with a sprinkle of Comedy to create a Magical Mystical nightmare world for adults.The storyline draws you in and the acting keeps you waiting for the next twist of terror. The cinematography in 3D is of stellar quality.This movie makes me hope for a sequel.

Witches and trolls and blood, oh my!

It's a fun movie if you have a slightly morbid sense of humor. Beware though, when Hansel and Gretel kill a witch, the movie doesn't leave it to your imagination. You see all the blood and gore involved. So if you're squeamish when it comes to that kind of thing, you probably don't want to see this movie. However, if you grew up watching horror movies in all their bloody gory glory like I did, you'll likely find some of the kill scenes amusing. (Of course, this isn't a horror movie though.)

I thought the make-up on the evil witches was excellent and the troll was pretty cool. I loved the Grand Witch's costume as well. There's lots of action in the movie and it is indeed worth watching it in 3-D.

Good movie with a good story line. Good action movie with good effects and fight scenes. How can the critics say don't go when it is the #1 movie in the country. Guess they got that one wrong.

Fun but inconsistant. 3-D helps but doesnt amaze.

The only reason to see it in theater is to see 3-D, it does help but there's just not enough of it for me to make it worth it, there are a few really good uses though. Cant hurt to wait for Blu-Ray.
Its fun but overall they the mix matched accents and light tone just take me out of the movie a bit, not to mention the machine guns. The gore is present but nowhere near what I thought from reading reviews. For me it was really hard to concentrate on anything but Gemma Arteron, she's so amazing.

Great effects but redictable

The special effects were great. The story was a bit too easy to figure out. It seemed to take too long to show that Gretel was in line to become a white witch.
I loved the brooms and the effects showing how the witches cast spells on their victims.

Love Jeremy Renner in this movie!

Seeing this movie in 3D really made it work! Dont know if it was really a good story line - don't care b/c Jeremy Renner was the star! He is who I wanted to see. But it turned out to be awesome in the way of being an action movie -great affects. Everyone in theatre was jumping during several 3D shots. Jeremy Renner has a great way of making anything bad look good & anything good just bad***! Will go again!

Unexpectedly good movie

I had my doubts when my daughter asked me to go but it was funny,exciting and a new twist to an old tale. This movie is fun but not for the young ones with the very adult humor and brief nudity, all around great movie though.

dissapointed

I was disappointed in this movie. I'm tired of the main character of movies today being the graphics. I want more story development, more acting. I want to see a movie!
Too much shooting, cutting, gore, scene of nudity ruined the story I feel.
But, they did have some interesting takes on the tale I won't spill.
And I'm confused as to how they could have guns of this kind in that era.

Great Action Movie, had all of the right twists. And Yes, I even jumped when the object looked like it was flying out of the screen at me.

Meh

This movie was as silly as I thought it would be, so I wasn't disappointed when I got what I was expecting. The reason I went to see it was because I wanted to see something in 3D that my girlfriends and I could agree on, and no one was interested in The Hobbit or a kids movie. It was the first 3D movie I'd seen in 25 years and ZOMG, has the tech come a long way! Even the 3D previews were amazing. I enjoyed the effect so much, I sat through the credits. The tickets cost a little more but were well worth the price for the experience. I can't wait to see another 3D film!
