    Save Room for Dessert

    My prediction: Hansel & Gretel will not be nominated for Best Picture. That said, it is and over-the-top, entertaining and action packed good time. This is by far the most interesting and inspiring portrayal of witches since the Wizard of Oz. The fight scenes are fast-paced and incredibly well done. My only complaints are that 1) towards the end it seems a bit rushed, and 2) there could have been more relationship and chemistry established between Hansel (Renner) and Gretel (Arterton). Arterton totally steals the show with by alternating her foul mouth and blunt wit with lilting girliness and vulnerability.

    It's exactly what you think!

    This movie is so fun!! Yes, the premiss is ridiculous, but it is well executed and doesn't take itself to seriously. Honestly, I don't understand why Jeremy Renner is being shoved down our throats in every other movie and role but he does all right in this one! And Gemma Arterton is great!!! And everything is better with Famke Janssen!!! Just wish she was in more of the movie! The story is interesting and fun and the cinematography is very well done!! Yes, the language is extreme for the time period and most of the weapons could not possibly have existed, but are you really looking at this movie as a true period piece?? Get over yourselves, and go see it!! You'll have a good time and we could all use a little more fun right now!!

    Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters

    My Grandson and I loved the movie. The action and the adventure created a world in which we were a part of the movie. Fantastic, Wonderful and Awesome......

    Cool Movie, But The Book...

    This was a newer version of Hansel and Gretel, I liked it and I think you will too. Check out the books if you like it. lol

    Not worth the price of admission.

    I like Fantasy, I like Famke Janssen; one would think combining these would make for a movie I would like... it did not. I felt like it had a lot of interesting concepts that were poorly executed. Intriguing costume choices failed to hit the mark because the lighting (while expensive looking) didn't set the proper mood. A Dark Fantasy movie with an "R" rating really should've been, well... a lot darker.

    This movie was covered with a thin layer of cheese, and not one of those "This movie is SO bad it's good" (a la Army of Darkness) it was just plain bad. The plot and acting left much to be desired, during the *SPOILER* 2 deaths, I found myself completely emotionless because frankly, so were they. The trailers for the new "Star Trek" and "Warm Bodies" stirred more emotion in me than this entire movie.

    Ultimately, might've been a fun movie to catch on cable one night... but it's certainly not worth the exorbitant theater ticket prices.

    Not the worst way to spend a late afternoon

    Snow White and the Huntsman and Red Riding Hood were done better. Still, turn off the brain for 2 hours, enjoy the eye candy and see it at a 2nd run theater if you can.
    Easy paycheck for the cast, normally I fully enjoy the work they do...the performances are bored, phoned-in and cheesy.
    Maybe that's the point. Anyway, the gore scenes were well done.

    Hansel and Gretel creative twist to the story

    Like the movie full of action. I really like the twist from the original story book Hansel and Gretel.
    It is more then candy in a house. Creative characters in the story. I enjoyed the story.

    Very Entertaining

    This film was very entertaining. I enjoyed the plot, the stars of the film did a good job of playing their parts. The special effects were excellent. I would go see it again.

    If you're looking for action and a good plot, this movie certainly has it. I love how everything ties together and seems to wrap itself up by the end.

    "Witch"slapped

    I thought this was an entertaining viewpoint on what happened to Hansel and Gretel when they grew up. Movie uses lots of modern language..no "thees and thous" and some pretty cool weapons. Still is a good vs evil..might be a little intense for younger kids, as the R rating is deserved. The humor also makes it enjoyable, and good does conquer evil.

    Hunsel and Gretel

    Went to see it today and it was awesome! I loved it. It was really good and I think they should do a part 2. Its not for kids, so don't take the kids. ITs adult movie only. Must see movie! Go see it!

    Terribly Disappointing!

    I couldn't wait to see this movie. I absolutely love Jeremy Renner. But just a few minutes into the move it was obvious that it was going to be a bad movie. It was so gruesome in a cheap and cheesy manner. Really Bad plot. Terrible script. And most of the actors and actresses were badly cast. I would have left the movie before it was over but wanted to give the movie the benefit of the doubt and watch all of it before I made a final decision. Well the final decision is I wasted my money and Jeremy Renner's talents were wasted on this film. Don't spend your money on it. You'll feel cheated.

    An action-packed, camp fest of grand proportions.

    If you're a fan of old fashioned camp, over-the-top action sequences, subtle satire and preposterous plots (especially one that with a healthy mix of martial arts, the medieval, and Gatling guns), you'll certainly enjoy this flick that (thankfully) doesn't take itself too seriously.

    Not the H & G I grew up with!

    "Hansel & Gretal: Witch Hunters" was very entertaining. My wife and I enjoyed it. A lot of violence but the dip in the pond scene was great! So if you like heads being popped off and lots of killing, you will enjoy this. But leave you young ones at home!!! It's not the H & G I grew up with, but that's a good thing.
