    Great gruesome adult movie

    by

I love this adaption of Hansel and Gretel, it has a lot of adult humor in it and LOTS of gruesome killing/fighting. I definitely recommend everyone go see it at least once.

all you expect, action, average acting and a naked chick

This movie is all it promises to be, an decent fantasy action movie. The dialogue was nothing of substance, but if you're looking at going to this movie that's not really what you'd care about anyhow. It wasn't the Grimm story of Hansel & Gretel that we all know, but I thought it was connected well enough that it could keep the name.

    Classic Tale!

This was a fun movie and added a nice twist to the "Hansel and Gretel" story we have all heard and read. We have a brother and a sister who are on a mission to take down every witch there is in the area who are taking the children from the local town. They have seen it all, they have witnessed it, and now they must band together with the locals to stop the evil from spreading. You have blood, guts, action, and romance!! It is set in a town in the 1700's and has beautiful scenery. If you want a fun story, go check out this new flick. The acting isn't the best, but that shouldn't stop you from buying a ticket. I enjoyed it and will buy it once it comes out in DVD. Go see it in 3-D! Everybody loves guts and bullets coming at you on screen. Keep the kiddies at home, there is nudity and way too much violence. Fun movie!

    This movie was terrible!

While this movie was an interesting take on the fairy tale (which I like) and full of action (which I love), it kind of fell flat. I don't expect a fairy tale movie to be anything even remotely resembling historically accurate, but this one took anachronism to the extreme. The liberal sprinkling of the F-bomb only made it worse. I love the actors in this and the story was decent, but the overall impression was awful. I had to go watch another movie just to get this one out of my head.

    Horrible movie

    by

The acting is horrible, the dialogue is something to be desired, and the story is not what I thought it was going to be. It just didnt fit the movie.......and it didnt add up at the end.

Lots of gruesome violence and the occasional curse word.

Don't bother..... not even on when it comes out to HBO

This movie SUCKED. Tacky, full of poor one-liners, completely lame, and pathetic. We thought it would be more like a Snow White and The Huntsman vibe. Just a weak B movie. Save your money and more importantly, your time.

    Fun Movie

I enjoyed Hansel and Gretel, I thought it was full of action, visually entertaining and it had quite a few funny moments in it as well.

Should have been left in the woods

    by MedRed

Even with low expectations, Hansel & Gretel is corny, simple, predictable, and poorly acted.

A few good one liners and action scenes are overridden by bad one liners, repetitive fight scenes, and really, really bad CGI. I also don't think thigh thick branches of wood are supposed to flop as if they are made of rubber.

The only redeeming quality of this movie is the R rating that keeps it from being a total snore fest. Pass on this one.

If you like my reviews, add me as a fan. I'll add you back!

A good way to pass the evening

    by

I give this movie a C+ rating. Overall. this movie isn't for children, and is rather violent. I especially loved the opening credit graphics. The overall sound, visuals, and soundtrack were above average, as well as the amusing story plot. Go and see this!

Not worth the price of admission.

    by

I like Fantasy, I like Famke Janssen; one would think combining these would make for a movie I would like... it did not. I felt like it had a lot of interesting concepts that were poorly executed. Intriguing costume choices failed to hit the mark because the lighting (while expensive looking) didn't set the proper mood. A Dark Fantasy movie with an "R" rating really should've been, well... a lot darker.

This movie was covered with a thin layer of cheese, and not one of those "This movie is SO bad it's good" (a la Army of Darkness) it was just plain bad. The plot and acting left much to be desired, during the *SPOILER* 2 deaths, I found myself completely emotionless because frankly, so were they. The trailers for the new "Star Trek" and "Warm Bodies" stirred more emotion in me than this entire movie.

Ultimately, might've been a fun movie to catch on cable one night... but it's certainly not worth the exorbitant theater ticket prices.

Skeptical on the shortness but well worth it.

If you are looking for an action packed movie with some comical relief here and there, well Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters is for you. It is not for the feint of heart. There are some instances where the Witches can be a gruesome looking. The gore is not too bad. You see a lot of blood splatter here and there so if you've got a weak stomach, be wary.

They did a good job in the short amount of time they had. The story wasn't too compacted and it just gave the right amount of information for viewers to know what was happening.

There isn't much character development. Actually, I don't think there are at all. You just get what you get out of the characters, but they are easy to like. Well there's one character that develops but I don't want to spoil it. The character becomes a lovable thing and you end up cheering in the end.

    Eh.

Fun movie. Nothing else, think Van Helsing with more gore and cursing. Weak plot, Jeremy Renner was the only actor that I saw on the screen who was acting, and a very short film. Remember when seeing it, silly humor and close up action, hard to see whats going on, its an MTV movie after all.

    Fairy tale or Nightmare?

What could have been a fun, interesting twist on the fairy tale became a graphic gore-fest a la Freddie Kruger. There is no point in talking about acting, plots or anything else. I am not particularly squeamish and I found it hard to watch. If movie making has come to this people will stay home and rent something, anything, better.
