    A Wonderful Film. Sad and Beautiful.

    The British actors were just wonderful to watch and listen to. The scenes in India were very interesting to say the least. Watching Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy, Tom Wilkenson and Dev Patel are truly a real treat to the eyes and the soul. I loved every minute of the film even the ending.

    Funny and Uplifting

    I had no desire to see this, but thankfully I was outvoted by my friends. It would have been a tragedy to miss it. This movie is hilarious. It leaves you smiling and uplifted. I plan to see it again this week with my sisters and close friends.

    The Wonderful Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

    Wonderful, a bit different from the book, they left out many of the extra characters i.e. the children, but the movie was wonderful. Of course all the acting was superb and even with a bit of change to the story, I so enjoyed the movie, I am ready to see it again. For those of you who want to just keep it simple and enjoy, go see the movie. For those of you who have read the book, expect differences, but the movie still does a superb job on centering around the lives, sorrows and loves of the main characters, the important ones, and their experiences in India at THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL. To see all this actors in one movie is a treasure. Any movie that gives me Maggie Smith and Judy Dench together is my kind of movie! The "ladies" and the "men" in this movie are at the top of the "A" list.

    I really enjoyed this film!

    Upon seeing a trailer for The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, I knew I had to see this one. The film stars so many of my favorite actors, and the storyline piqued my interest. While I am not of the age group/demographic portrayed in this film, I found that the story contained many truths. It is a soul-searching type of film, that makes one think not only about the choices in life, but how to truly live an enjoy life to its fullest.

    A wonderfully heart warming film

    Wife and I attended the 12:20pm matinee with what looked to be 3/4 full house of retired folks. We all seemed to like the film and its message about change. Change has to be dealt with at all ages and not just in ones senior years. Exotic Marigold delivers that message with laughter and pathos. Worth seeing even if paying full price!

    Go Go Go

    I've been waiting for months to see this film. All of the actors' performances are good. However, for me, Maggie Smith is the best. Dev Patel I like as well. You'll remember him from Slumdog Millionaire and from the BBC series Skins. I'll go see this film again.

    A Little frenetic, but rewarding performances by topnotch actors. Probably seen as a "woman's movie" for its theme of redemption and positive life changes but don't we need more of that anyway?

    Overwrought, Overrated

    What a squandering of an excellent cast. Except for Maggie Smith, whose character was overwrought and whose performance was overacted, most of them tried to make the best of a mawkish, cliche studded script. Worst of all, there were three lines that were blatantly stolen--all somewhat well known. "I don't even buy green bananas anymore"--a dog-eared old joke.
    "When I want your opinion, I'll give it to you"--an infamous Goldwynism. "If she dies, she dies"-- plagiarized from George Burns and delivered badly by an actor who should have thrown away the line the way Burns did.

    To top it off, the resolutions of every characters' narrative were uniformly implausible, to say nothing of being painfully corny.

    See it Just for the Cast...

    Sure it's the best cast in a film in years and most of them deliver big time but.....Let's just say I was disappointed. Maybe I expected too much, maybe I should have known the grit, grime and poverty of Mumbai would be a turn-off for me, maybe the story wasn't strong enough or maybe it was all of the above. It just didn't "do it" for me.

    Very enjoyable

    We chose this movie because of the reviews we had read and watching the trailer. It was an enjoyable movie with some twists and turns that were unanticipated.

    The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

    We thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Great actors, great acting, interesting feel-good story.
    Also enjoyed scenes and people of India. Good balance of comedy and serious themes.

    With this many Academy award winners

    It's always interesting to see certain films re-released late in the year to remind the academy that they've been on the screen. If this isn't one of them I'll be extremely surprised. Some folks reach their golden years and decide life isn't over yet. This is such a wonderful tale about people you will really care about you really mustn't miss it.

    Baby Boomers and Seniors

    My wife and I went to this movie and this it is exceptional and should get an Academy Award! The acting is superb. The location is wonderful. The videography is amazing. Everyone should see this movie!! It reminded us to live every moment we are alive, to never stop taking risks.

    Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

    Lovely movie with exquisite verbal script. The actors are all truely great. The stories are expertly intertwined. I enjoyed it very much. It will not have universal appeal. It's for a very adult crowd.

    The BEMH is Engilish gold. a great cast wonderful settings, and pure english tongue in check dialogue. loved it the second time I saw it as well.
