    Linconln

Great movie. Showed the human side of Lincoln. He was a complex man who truly cared about his country and family. The movie showed how turn he was having to make difficult decisions that were not always, and more times than not, contrary to may strong beliefs of others. All of the cast did amazing job with their roles.

Yep... it was the Republicans under Lincoln who abolished slavery

    by

Fabulous movie personalizing Lincoln's time in the White House, and most importantly his fight against the Democrats of the day that enabled the Republicans to bring to a vote and then pass the 13th Amendment to the Constitution that abolished slavery, while the country fought a civil war. Must see.

    Brilliant

This movie is rich in dialogue; not action. I do not want to include any spoilers, but what I can say is the Daniel Day Lewis is brilliant, as is Sally Field. LIncoln's motivation to serve as President was seemingly so pure, and that sentiment was so
well expressed in the script and the acting. He was a gifted
politician, and quite possibly a genius given that he was primarily self educated.
GO and be proud of our American history and be thankful for the moral compass of Abraham Lincoln.
Steven Spielberg's ability to tackle and translate almost any subject blows my mind; he is a national treasure. Without him there would be a BIG gaping hole in
cinema, not just in America but Worldwide. BRAVO Spielberg: U DID IT AGAIN.

    good movie

    by

i saw a bunch of stuff on the history channel, a couple years back about him and his family, which made the movie all the more interesting.

Not many war scenes, but there still was the civil war gruesomeness.

Everybody did a good job...it had tommy lee jones in it, so you know it had to be good.

They didn't show too much of Gettysburg, which I thought sucked, but they did mention it obviously.

Definite must go! Story is slow but you will not be bored. Daniel Day Lewis sure to be nominated and I predict will win the academy award for best actor.

Must see movie. Should be required for all members of Congress and the Administration. Daniel Day-Lewis does an amazing job of making Lincoln a human and not a legend.

This is a "must see" movie!!

    by rfiete

This movie depicted the situation at the time. The actors did a magnificant job in their roles. I particularly liked Day and Tommy Lee Jones in their respective roles. Everyone should see this movie to better know what Lincoln was all about.

    INCREDIBLE, MOVING AND MUST SEE

This movie has been long in coming..the story is exciting, Daniel Day Lewis delivers his best performance in bringing Lincoln to life.....we left with such a deep appreciation of the historical significance and compassion for this great man who also endured much personal loss adsuffering during his life.

The one film EVERYONE should see, because it MEANS so much. As a Black woman, I was so heartened that Lincoln ingenuously enabled my current fate....and those of all Blacks.

Thank you Steven Spielberg!! Amazing film.....

    Spielberg at his best

One of the best films I've ever seen. Day-Lewis was nothing short of superb! The entire cast was outstanding. The writing, casting, costuming, were all near perfect. This film should sweep the Awards ceremonies.

    Astounding!

There is no way any other movie will contend with this film for best picture, best actor and supporting actor, as well as best actress. Truly a must see!!!

    Lincoln

It was very entertaining. Not only educational but had humor & heartbreak. All of the actors were superb in this movie, especially the touching moments of Sally Field as Mary Lincoln. Daniel Day Lewis and Tommy Lee Jones were phenomenal as always. This is not a movie for small children due to the war scenes that are graffic and true to life.

    Quality from Hollyood

About time there was some real quality out of Hollywood. The art of acting is clear from all parties in this movie. I am not old enough to have known Mr. Lincoln and cannot attest to the accuracy of the portrayal but what was portrayed was excellent. Lincoln was not the god many claim him to be. He was the penultimate politician who used favors and legal deceit to attain a goal. If you only learn this then the movie is worth seeing. Wonderful storytelling.

    Lincoln

This is an impressive movie. I think all of our politicians should be required to see it. The acting is superb. This movie has something for everyone. It's a great story and well told. It is not for young kids (younger than 12).
