    Lincoln - A Must Go See

    Saw Lincoln last night. You learn more about the history of our country in 2 hours, 15 minutes, than a semester in school! Daniel Day Lewis is Lincoln in the film. Job well done! Sally Fields and Tommy Lee Jones play great parts as well but Daniel Day steals the show deservingly so. You should take the time to see this with friends or family. You will enjoy it and learn.

    Nice Movie

    A person like me gets more insight why Lincon is called as one of the the america's greatest presidents by watching such movies. My Recommendation is to gooooooooooooooo.

    LINCOLN

    Lincoln is portrayed and a real person and not the bigger than life stuff that was taught in school. The portrayal of the political battle and the behind the scenes battles of trying to get the 13th amendment passed was extremely interesting.

    The genre was dark as was the time of the 3 months before his death and his interaction with Mary was superb.

    All suporting actors should be nominated for Academy Awards.

    Well done film.

    As for the story ... Corruption was evident in the government in the late 1800's just like today ... and they held off a peaceful end to a war just fulfill their own agenda. Amazing that nothing has really changed in government!

    History buffs only

    Great story, well told. Historical accuracy is excellent. The story starts out a bit slow then picks up as the vote on the 13th amendment approaches. I love the insights into Lincoln's personal struggles and the intrigue behind it all. If you love history, this is a must-see. If you buy into the revisionist history bunk about Lincoln being racist and not actually freeing anyone, then this is a must-see.

    Amazing acting

    Loved this movie; superb acting & a reminder of tremendous sacrifice to achieve freedom for ALL. Perhaps if every senator & representative saw this they might be remained of what they've been elected to do. The parallels between the movie & what's taking place right now in government is almost scary! See it, better yet feel it!

    A beautiful testament to humanity

    Lincoln covers a very short period of time in the Lincoln presidency, but every week was important and world-changing. Daniel Day-Lewis, Tommy Lee Jones, James Spader, Sally Field, and countless other A-list actors are brilliant in the film, which re-affirms the horrors and the triumphs of humanity and the spirit that binds us.

    Lincoln

    Great movie. very historical. Steven Speilberg nailed it. Daniel Day-Lewis was excellent as Lincoln. Also, Tommy Lee Jones was dead on as Thaddeus Stevens. He looked so much like him.

    Lincoln

    This movie lived up to its potential. It was an ensemble cast of very good actors doing what they do best, act. Daniel Day-Lewis was superb in the title role. He brought life to Lincoln. He almost dominated every scene he was in. It's a must-see movie.

    Great Movie

    Seen in relation to the election we just had makes it even more important. We could just change the party names and we are fighting the same battle this many years later.

    I think the Religious Right and the Republican Party should be asking them selves not "What would Jesus do?", but "What would Lincoln think was the moral thing to do." Amazinge the coniving that had to be done to get freedom for the slaves. It is a scar that Jim Crow and the current Republican party are remnants of hate and prejudice alive today.

    I only wish we could grow up as a country and heal the wounds, letting all men live free.

    Seems we have not learned hard lessons. The movie is great. First time I used Fandango. Service was easy and quick.

    second most boring movie i have ever seen

    the movie could have been done in 30 minutes instead of 3 hours! no action just debate on passing a bill in congress, thats the whole movie.

    Daniel Day never disappoints, overall film is so-so.

    This was a good look into Lincoln's second term and overall a good film. Daniel Day Lewis is always amazing. Tommy Lee Jones was great. I just don't care for Steven Speilberg productions. I am sure I'm in the minority here. As far as showing modern Americans exactly what it was that made Lincoln great - I think it was very good at that. When you compare our government today to our government then there doesn't seem to be much difference. If anything today's climate is much worse. My favorite scene in the movie is when the man is trying to shoot Mr. Bilbo, but he has to reload his musket - much better than today's debate about how many bullets can be squeezed off in ten seconds.

    Day-Lewis is good, movie is not

    As a fan of DDL & History I thought I'd be really into a movie about one of the most famous presidents of all time, but I was majorly disappointed with this film, it was slow throughout & I just sat there waiting for something to happen & it never did, once I realized this I started to hope they would at least show Lincoln being assassinated but they didn't instead it was anti climatic & I left the theater right away...the end

    Lincoln - Ahead of his time

    Great depiction of the abolishment of slavery initiated by Lincoln. He had a great sense of how the equality for men and women and people of all races would benefit everyone.

    Lincoln Is A powerful Tribute and Testimony to Greatness

    LINCOLN is a remarkable film. At times it almost made me want to believe is was a documentary. The 'realness' of Daniel Day Lewis in the title role, even Sally Field brought compassion, genuine character and heart I would hope for any film. For this one it's even more satisfying. Go see it on the big screen it's worth the historic perspective, brings a more believable view and helps to balance the political trials of today against yesteryear. Kudo's to Tony Kushner for a sensitive yet powerful screenplay adaptation.
