Lincoln
The movie was exceptional on many different levels. I was totally engrossed from beginning to end. But I have two criticisms. First, I thought the title could have been more creative. I was expecting an epic tale about the Lincoln presidency, but really it was just about his efforts to get the 13th amendment passed -- which covered about 1 month of his presidency. Moreover, getting the 13th amendment passed could not have been done without the herculean efforts of numerous Americans (both inside his cabinet and in congress). So I just think the title should have been one that captured the efforts of others -- it that was bigger than just Lincoln. Second, I wish Hollywood would find American actors to play the roles of great Americans. In this movie, the roles of Abraham Lincoln and Ulysseus Grant were played by British actors. Now I concede that both actors did a stellar job in portraying these men, and I have no criticism of their work, I just prefer americans in these roles.
