    Great!

    by dk94402

Daniel Day Lewis has a lock on best actor. Great historical story. It's also a relief for once to see a movie that is not all about special effects and violence.

    Thank you Mr. Spielberg!

    by mmommo1

Cried at the end..i cry when its crying over something real.....luved the story of the Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln...nearly cracked under pressure, not him, but her, and how they HAD to be strong....
    Luved Mr. Lincoln's lil' "stories"
talking to the boy in the telegraph room about "engineers" and math...
haven't been to Washington DC yet, I'm 49...but its on my bucket list...
luved how lincoln spoke of the "holy land" on his bucket list...feel good movie for me...luv our forefathers and the best part....HE WAS A GREAT DAD!
I wonder if the father of the Sandy Hook perpetrator had a good dad that really cared about him....

    Lincoln

This was one of the best movies we have seen lately. Michael Day Lewis did a fantastic job and should be nominated for an Academy Award

    Terrific!

I always was a fan of Lincoln, ever since grade school when I first read a book on him in the 4th grade. But this movie was great! The lead really portrayed the character of the man I had read about. What was so inspiring was the process of democracy and the realistic portrayal of the human side of our House of Representatives which reminded me a lot of what is going on in the House right now . But most of all, it showed a man of character and strong values.

This movie is for all ages. The overall setting, I thought was very reaistic.

    BEST MOVIE of 2012~

    by

Daniel Day-Lewis gives a performance for the ages. He IS Abe Lincioln in this movie. Several other amazing performances, including Tommy Lee Jones as Thaddeus Stevens. Well-directed movie, with a subtle pace.

    Lincoln

This movie is a must see. Daniel Day Lewis did a remarkable portrayal of one of my all-time favorite presidents. With a multi-talented, all star, veteran cast to back him; it is a masterpiece that will mesmorize anyone that is lucky enough to see it.

    A must see!

The acting is superb! The story was well written, and factual. Lincoln was the only living President to visit an active battlefield-a fact that will be lost to some viewers. Daniel Day Lewis is a shoe in for an academy award! Sally Field nailed the anguish felt by the loss of her beloved son Tad. I loved it and have been waiting for it to show!

    No LIE!

Lincoln is the best movie I've seen in a long time. I could feel the tremendous burden this great President carried on his shoulders. It made me proud to be an American!

    Lincoln

Excellent movie. Does much to portray the real horror of the Civil War and the unbelievable toll of human life. It struck me that in 150 years, not much has changed in politics, but at least we still live in a free country where so much "behind the scenes" behavior is still possible.

    Superb acting

Spielberg crafts a great movie about the wrangling and complicated dynamics of politics. The acting is superb. Day Lewis is not present int he movie; you only see Lincoln brought back to life.

Although the movie is excellent and every American should see it as a well-needed history lesson, some may find the extensive dialogue and political discourse less interesting than the bangs and booms of Skyfall.

    Gripping Historical Movie

My husband and I both loved this movie. The 2 1/2 hours flew by and I'm not sure how many breaths I took. Daniel Day Lewis MAKES this movie. He really seems to be Lincoln. It illustrates the historical perspective of deal-making in Washington and hightlights a different perspective, rather than his assassination, Gettysburg, etc. Really well made and for those who love history or poliics, this movie is a MUST SEE! Also, Tommy Lee Jones was ncredible as well and provided some appopriate sardonic comic relief in the middle of a serious subject.

Lincoln is a principaled and complex man

Excellent portral of the agony of the Civil War. One observes the character of Lincoln and of those fighting within congress to end both the slavery issue and the war. It is probably a surprise to most as to how much the Democrats oppose the abolition of slavery and how much Lincoln and the Republicans are militant in putting an end to slavery. If this movie had come out in September or October it might have changed some votes this year.

    lincoln

If you like political history you must see this movie, looks like some things will never change. The infighting and maneuvering were unreal, this has not changed still today, look at the cliff we almost went over. and the push and pull. It was the same then. Interesting .Lincoln was a master at this. Good thing. Got a 2$ off ticket for candy from using fandango, three kinds to pick from, one bite and through the rest away. Could be fandango should upgrade to something else.

    Fantastic!

    by Jans368

Daniel Day Lewis is compelling as Lincoln as we've never seen our beloved president before. The film is a glimpse into history and one cannot help but compare the events in history to the current political process.

Wiswell Finally saw Lincoln. Interesting movie – plodding, pensive and emotive, the kind of movie Spielberg was once accused of killing.
