    LAST STAND

I was glad to see Arnold's first big starring role back turned out to be a good movie. I liked it a lot. Good story and acting from all the cast. What surprised me was the number of jokes throughout the film during the violent scenes. Yes there are many bad guys disposed of; but all in all I found it to be entertaining and well worth your money. Good action scenes and special effects were fine (not great, but ok).

    I tried...

I rarely say "don't go" to a movie. I usually say, "it depends on what you like"...most movies are attractive to someone.

Not this movie. There are really no redeeming qualities. The persistant reeving of the engine on the "special corvette" as it accelerates down the road is very tiring. There are about 100 of those shots in this movie.

It's not a movie for gun lovers, its not a movie for crime scene lovers, it's not even a movie for fans of arnold and knoxville...of which, I am both.

The story is so elementary though, if you have a 3 year old, they may understand it.

A decent movie, plenty of action. Fun!

    by

Going into this movie, I think many people have a preconceived bias towards Arnold Schwarzenegger. Sure, we're not going to see a terminator-worthy performance here. However, Arnold still manages to maintain his iconic terminator-esque figure, and overall bad***-ness.

The story is simple to follow, very simple to be exact. Film critics will find the story to be mediocre, while regular movie-goers dive deep into their popcorn, finding it easy to become absorbed in the film. The character development is somewhat cliche'. However, the characters are fun, and humorous at times.

Overall, the movie is action-packed, offering high levels of excitement and suspense, as well as plenty of action.

With a roughly 1 hr 45 minute run time, this movie doesn't lull, and has very little dip. Decent flick, if you don't expect to see the best movie of your life, or even the best movie of the year, you will enjoy this film.

Just focus on enjoying the ride.

    The Last Stand

I agree with the last person who saw the movie, she's right, the slapstick humor and the guns just made this movie a lot of fun to watch. You should definitely go see it, it is a lot of fun!!

    Very good movie, enjoyed it!

    by bgalaev

This is really good movie. With Arnold Schwarzenner, rather old, but still impressive. Unfortunately political moment was not for such movie, which is showing how small group (4-5) of american people using their right to collect and wear guns managed to stop international gang on the boundary of USA. It shows FBI and federal authorities corrupted and helping new generation of Mexican drug dealers commit unbelievable crimes and factually rule the world. But small group of americans don't want this happen and opened real war on the Arizona state boundary against international gangsters. Real heroes and Arnold is fantastically good, but now not exactly the right moment in american history to popularize 2nd amendment. That's why not many people coming.

    over-rated

The movie started sl-o-ow, had a good middle and an ending that was predictable and a little stereotypical. The story line itself was interesting. Arnold didn't have any known actors that I recognized. I'm glad there wasn't much money put into this movie, because it wasn't worth much. I spent too much money on it myself between my ticket and popcorn. The upcoming previews were good.

Really? Should have waited till DVD

    by ariva90

I love Arnold and i really never write bad reviews. I saw so many good reviews and had to write this. First of all, If you recently watched Homeland or any other recently awarded flick, stay away from this! I mean the FBI in this movie could have been run by 10 year olds. If i was the FBI director i would have fired everyone. The movie is like a slow, dumbed down version of an action flick. There were funny parts to it, almost to stupid. It makes americans look so retarded, even though we are lol. I wouldnt recommend this to anyone serious mabey just to old people so they can sleep through it and say it was a good movie.

    Way Better Than Expected

Took my 16 yr. old daughter. We go to movies all the time, more than we should. Neither of us are Shwarzenagger fans perse' but we both were very entertained. This movioe had just the right amount of action humor and seriousness that when I saw an article that cut Arnold up for being all done, I had to write a review. I would be tempted to see this again. I definately will rent the DVD. 4 and a half out of 5 stars for your monies worth. Good for you Arnie!

    Poor Aw-Nold!

Lightweight and slow to get rolling silly escaped drug-lord yarn (high-tech escape, low-tech Chevy-commercial getaway) which eventually gets to and features the Star of the show: Bullets, Blood-spatter and Explosions (now so lazily relied upon in lieu of genuine creativity I bet the Hollywood fat-cat insiders non-nonchalantly refer to it as "BB&E"), and ends with the now-obligatory final hand-to-hand isolated duel to the finish. Nothing here (plot, screenplay, acting, dialog, pacing, location) to draw one in except the memory of Aw-Nold in his prime. He still has presence and deserves a place, but it should be (hopefully next time will be) in something more worthy than this. Forest Whitaker's character would have been better served if it had been played by an unknown or up-an-comer, as the amped intensity of his tormented acting style overwrought/overacted the role with way too much intensity (which interestingly made him better suited for the weakly played bad-guy leader role).

Arnold Can Still Make Exciting Movies!

I thought this would probably be good since I've always enjoyed Arnold movies, but I was surprised to find out that this is A VERY ENTERTAINING ACTION & SHOOT 'EM UP MOVIE, along with a good dose of humor to boot! Definitely a guy film and thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. Plus there are some amazing action sequences throughout the movie!

    Arnie kicked some ass!! :)

i dont think the critics are real critics. i think they're the children of those critics playing with their parents computer! but i saw this movie this past weekend and it was like country version of The Expendables. it was exciting and had some funny parts that you couldn't help but chuckle! Johnny Knoxville is such a dork in here :)) I LOVED IT and will definitely buy it when it comes out on dvd! 2 thumbs up from me and mine!

    A bit silly

    by dbjack

Going in you knew this was going to be a shoot 'em up unreal collection of odd things. It was what I was in the mood for so off to the theater I went. The bystanders in the town were an amusing piece but frankly it gave the film a quality that may not have worked. Granny shooting the bad guy in the back was fun, could have done without the after commentary. Johnny Knoxville was funny, a bit lame at times but funny. Arnold. was pretty good, it was great fun to see him in a movie again. All in all it was entertaining. Somehow the combination of elements made the whole better than the parts.

    Action and Funny

This movie was really good. A lot of action, and funny. It was cool, awesome, not boring, Arnold Schwarzenegger, did a good job as deputy, and his crew.. Honor, is worth more than money.

"I'll Be Back" and he is.

Yes I went because it was Arnold's first come back headliner in a movie. It was a good mixture of Humor, and action as well as blood and guts. for sure. It's worth the money. It's sad that it didn't do better on it's opening weekend. But then again he was up against some serious great movies. So tell your friends go see it. Way to go Arnold. I look forward to a Terminator sequence in about 20 years where the terminator is in a wheel chair.
