    Schwarzenegger still has it!!

    by

The Last Stand was awesome! A little comedy, a little drama and lots of action! Loved it!!! If you're a fan of action movies and firepower, it's a must see.

    LAST STAND

I was glad to see Arnold's first big starring role back turned out to be a good movie. I liked it a lot. Good story and acting from all the cast. What surprised me was the number of jokes throughout the film during the violent scenes. Yes there are many bad guys disposed of; but all in all I found it to be entertaining and well worth your money. Good action scenes and special effects were fine (not great, but ok).

Really? Should have waited till DVD

    by ariva90

I love Arnold and i really never write bad reviews. I saw so many good reviews and had to write this. First of all, If you recently watched Homeland or any other recently awarded flick, stay away from this! I mean the FBI in this movie could have been run by 10 year olds. If i was the FBI director i would have fired everyone. The movie is like a slow, dumbed down version of an action flick. There were funny parts to it, almost to stupid. It makes americans look so retarded, even though we are lol. I wouldnt recommend this to anyone serious mabey just to old people so they can sleep through it and say it was a good movie.

    Entertaining and fun

I had fun today and was entertained by this movie. It had lots of hot cars, explosions, gun fire and the good guys are the best with the evil guys, very evil. It was truly the good guys shooting the bad guys. Obama should watch this one.

    A bit silly

    by dbjack

Going in you knew this was going to be a shoot 'em up unreal collection of odd things. It was what I was in the mood for so off to the theater I went. The bystanders in the town were an amusing piece but frankly it gave the film a quality that may not have worked. Granny shooting the bad guy in the back was fun, could have done without the after commentary. Johnny Knoxville was funny, a bit lame at times but funny. Arnold. was pretty good, it was great fun to see him in a movie again. All in all it was entertaining. Somehow the combination of elements made the whole better than the parts.

    Action and Funny

This movie was really good. A lot of action, and funny. It was cool, awesome, not boring, Arnold Schwarzenegger, did a good job as deputy, and his crew.. Honor, is worth more than money.

good action, some light humor. only thing i didn't like was the graphic parts of the heads being shot out...but, that is Hollywood these days

    Ignore the critics

    by Filld

This is without a doubt going to become a cult favorite(along the lines of Tremors). Not believable but completing entertaining. A very likable cast , witty dialoge and well staged action scenes. I can guarantee that when you leave the theater you will feel you got your money's worth. It is really a throwback to some old western films with a dash of humor.

"I'll Be Back" and he is.

Yes I went because it was Arnold's first come back headliner in a movie. It was a good mixture of Humor, and action as well as blood and guts. for sure. It's worth the money. It's sad that it didn't do better on it's opening weekend. But then again he was up against some serious great movies. So tell your friends go see it. Way to go Arnold. I look forward to a Terminator sequence in about 20 years where the terminator is in a wheel chair.

    Arnie kicked some ass!! :)

i dont think the critics are real critics. i think they're the children of those critics playing with their parents computer! but i saw this movie this past weekend and it was like country version of The Expendables. it was exciting and had some funny parts that you couldn't help but chuckle! Johnny Knoxville is such a dork in here :)) I LOVED IT and will definitely buy it when it comes out on dvd! 2 thumbs up from me and mine!

    Poor Aw-Nold!

Lightweight and slow to get rolling silly escaped drug-lord yarn (high-tech escape, low-tech Chevy-commercial getaway) which eventually gets to and features the Star of the show: Bullets, Blood-spatter and Explosions (now so lazily relied upon in lieu of genuine creativity I bet the Hollywood fat-cat insiders non-nonchalantly refer to it as "BB&E"), and ends with the now-obligatory final hand-to-hand isolated duel to the finish. Nothing here (plot, screenplay, acting, dialog, pacing, location) to draw one in except the memory of Aw-Nold in his prime. He still has presence and deserves a place, but it should be (hopefully next time will be) in something more worthy than this. Forest Whitaker's character would have been better served if it had been played by an unknown or up-an-comer, as the amped intensity of his tormented acting style overwrought/overacted the role with way too much intensity (which interestingly made him better suited for the weakly played bad-guy leader role).

    Way Better Than Expected

Took my 16 yr. old daughter. We go to movies all the time, more than we should. Neither of us are Shwarzenagger fans perse' but we both were very entertained. This movioe had just the right amount of action humor and seriousness that when I saw an article that cut Arnold up for being all done, I had to write a review. I would be tempted to see this again. I definately will rent the DVD. 4 and a half out of 5 stars for your monies worth. Good for you Arnie!

Arnold Can Still Make Exciting Movies!

I thought this would probably be good since I've always enjoyed Arnold movies, but I was surprised to find out that this is A VERY ENTERTAINING ACTION & SHOOT 'EM UP MOVIE, along with a good dose of humor to boot! Definitely a guy film and thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. Plus there are some amazing action sequences throughout the movie!

Most enjoyable movie I've seen in a while

Don't listen to the critics on this one. The Last Stand is packed with fun, creative action, laugh-out-loud humor, and is both a great ensemble piece and an excellent Schwarzenegger vehicle. His role is realistic for his age, and he gives equal time to his cast-mates while still delivering the satisfying Schwarzenegger kick-assery you're looking for. Obviously not a deep, life-changing piece of film-making, but who the hell was expecting that? Just a great fun evening at the movies.
