One of the worst movies I have ever seen!

It is very seldom that I have walked out of a movie, but I came very close to doing just that after watching this HORRIBLE film. I expected it to be light-hearted and funny. Instead it was boring and depressing with a non-existent story line that made no sense and went no where. The best part of the whole movie was about 2 minutes that were dedicated to a small role that Melissa McCarthy had. She was hysterical, the rest was just DUMB! Save your $10 and spend it on a decent movie!

    Great Lines

A great movie to see just how hypocritical we can be as parents! A riot of a movie and perhaps a bit too close to home in some scenes! Enjoy!

Well how would u title this,

This is a basic film of today's family. If you like watching dis functional family at hand then this is the movie for you, of course they added a basic story line to it basically to keep you interested. Its a very long movie for what it is about and would not recommend it to anyone.

    Dawn

I was so excited to go and see this movie because I love Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann.....
while some parts were very cute, and some parts were funny, the movie was just tooooo
loonnggggg! Over two hours was just too much.On a good note, Melissa McCarthy was her usual funny self, too bad she was only in the movie for a couple of minutes.

    Very down to earth

enjoyed the movie. was very down to earth and realistic in its portrayal of a married couple.the only thing i did not like was the young daughter cussed the entire time. pretty ridiculous for a 15 year old to say F***.

Very refreshing; lots of laughs but some substance to the film, too. I was glad that more than one of the funny scenes shown in the previews were not in the movie (must have been in the out-takes). Sometimes the funny previews are about all the funny lines in a film.

Well cast; well written film both entertaining and thought provoking. Not for children under 14-16.

    This is...AWFUL!!

Too many f-bombs, yelling, whining, complaining, lying and *itching. As if we don't already have enough drama in our own lives, now we pay to watch it??! I feel truly sorry for those who say this is realistic. If it is...I don't ever want to turn 40. Sad, sad movie and it was waaaaaay too long.

    FUNNNNYYYY

I laughed so hard at time I had tears running down my face. It is a great Married Couple movie. Make it a date night and you will be talking about it during the ride home.

This movie is an insult to the industry

This movie is absolutely horrible. Think of the worst script that goes WAY overboard trying to be shockingly hilarious - possibly written by 13 year olds who can't write - Then pay $10 to sit through it....wow - we were thinking it would come together sooner or later, but after about an hour and a half we couldn't take it and walked out. Really a pointless waste of time.....my kudos to whomever put the trailer together and somehow tricked us into seeing this piece of junk.

I thought it was the most terrible movie I have ever been to..
My friend and I walk out..
Truly inappropriate..Not true life at all..
Every word in the film had some sort of sex in it..

Kids we always using fowl language..
Parents where having conversations that showed NO respect for each other and very unrealistic..
    No honesty at all.

A comedy is one thing, but just full out inappropriate in every way..

Terrible movie and a total waste of money.

    Everyone Can Relate

    by Nutt32

This movie was great because everyone can relate to one of the characters in the movie. The problems the married couple encounters make you say "yeah I know how that is". This movie was a feel good and Paul Rudd did an excellent job as always. This is a movie I could see with my mom or dad and both of them could get it and have a good laugh. Wether your married or not you can relate to the couple in this film if you have ever been in a relationship. This film helps you laugh at yourself and how silly we all can be when in relationships. If you want to see a movie that makes you laugh and lets you know that relationships are a little crazy and its just not you go see this film.

I wanted to love this movie but....

I was looking forward to seeing this one, being a big fan of the sort-of-first one. The two characters I thought would be strong enough to make this movie work but for some reason it just didn't come together. If you saw Funny People, you know what I'm talking about. You will be parked in your semi-comfortable theatre seat for 2-plus hours, and about halfway through this movie you find yourself looking at your watch wanting it to end. Maybe it was just a little too much depth into the lives of this family, or maybe it was just the ending which really wasn't an ending as it seemed to make one too many turns as the movie was winding down. Either way, there are some great performances from Chris O'dowd and Jason Segel but they are bit parts that just don't keep it interesting enough. Last note, maybe if you have kids you will find this a little more entertaining but if not you may find yourself just waiting for it to end. Sorry Judd, I'll still see the next one you come out with.

    Blipblop2

The movie was funny because it hit so close to home but it could have used a litttle better editing it was a little long and choppy at times. But overall I gave it three out of five stars.

    Not particularly funny

The writers forgot the rules of successful raunch comedy: 1) SOME characters have to be honorable, and 2) the overall tone should be one of sweetness.

What we have here is just disagreeable characters who yell at each other a lot. If your idea of funny is really inappropriate use of the F-word, like the Mom screaming irrationally and inappropriately at a 13 year old kid, or really little kids swearing, or an overweight woman screaming at a guidance counselor, this could be the movie for you.

Folks 40+ will enjoy it more

I liked this couple from Knocked Up, so I was real happy to see this movie begin to be promoted a month or two ago.

The topper for me was seeing Chris O'Dowd (from The IT Crowd). I think that Apatow missed a huge one-liner opportunity with Chris since there was so much technology/computer-centric things in the film. There were quite a few instances where someone could have had a problem with a laptop/computer and Chris would have said "Have you tried turning it off and then on again?" and it would have had me rolling on the floor! Even if it were just part of the bloopers during the credits at the end.

In any case, there are enough really funny scenes that every couple who's been together awhile and in their 40's can relate to and giggle about.
