    This is 40: This is Horrible

    "This is 40" has a great cast and lots of one-liners and after 20, then 30, then 40 minutes of no plot development, we had a growing sens of unease that this movie was going nowhere slowly (2:20 of slow). And that is exactly what it did until we walked out. As for friends who went with us but sat elsewhere in the theatre, they were grumpy we didn't tell them we were walking out as they would have joined us ? and demanded their money back. Bottom line: Boring. Plotless. Joyless.

    Director Apatow edited the January Vanity Fair issue (which is brilliant). This is not brilliant. This is an awkward comedy that misses its mark the way a lot of SNL comedies are "amusing" but not actually funny.

    Worth a watch, but not what I expected

    I wasn't too thrilled about this movie. It's actually kind of depressing. While 'Knocked Up' was hilarious throughout, 'This Is 40' had only a few funny moments and I found it difficult to laugh during those because of how sad and depressing the rest of the movie is. I'd watch it again to give it a second chance, but the first impression wasn't great and it's surely related to what I expected of it after seeing 'Knocked Up.'

    Well how would u title this,

    This is a basic film of today's family. If you like watching dis functional family at hand then this is the movie for you, of course they added a basic story line to it basically to keep you interested. Its a very long movie for what it is about and would not recommend it to anyone.

    This is 40. AWESOME.

    Going in, I was a little skeptical. This a sequel no matter how you look at it, but right from the get go Judd Apatow pulls you back into the often comical lives of Deb, Pete, and their two daughters. Yet, this is more of a dramady about the serious moments of being a mother, a father, a kid, and a grand parent that seem like they happen to you and no one else. A true testament to the fact theat life can throw you curve no matter how old you are. Judd Apatow and the whole Apatow clan( his wife and two daughters are three of the main characters) once again hits it out of the park with another relateable story.

    A Must see!

    Movie was hilarious. I layghed all through the movie. They did use lots of strong language and sexual comments not appropriate for children under age 13. It was very realistic of everyday family and parents turning 40 with modern day kids and family issues. I thought it was great. I normally go to early features becasue if movie boring I will fall alsleep. I went at the 9:00pm showing and never dozed off so that means it it's good.
    My daughters friends who are 20 thought it was not funny and said it was boring. But thats because they are young and can't relate to the content of the movie. For couples 40 and over who have families it was very, very funny and true to life and relationships.

    Went to see the movie "This Is 40" Some Pervasive Language, Crude Humor, Sexual Content and Some Drug Filled Cookies.... LoL... Not Something to take the kids to go see when you haven't had the talk about the birds and the bees... This was a very good adult comedy about becoming an old fart and dealing with reality... Oh, Wait I fit that category.... Well worth the trip to the theater for this one my friends...

    This Is 40

    This movie was really really good and I definitely recommend that everyone go and see it. I am approaching 40 in April and I am really having a hard time coming to terms with it, so I really felt myself in this movie. It was an exact portrait of my life with my husband and kids. I have never seen a movie that replicated my life to a T, but this movie did that exactly!!! LOVED IT!!!

    I laughed so hard at time I had tears running down my face. It is a great Married Couple movie. Make it a date night and you will be talking about it during the ride home.

    This is 40

    The movie was very good. A couple of not so real scenes, but overall felt like real life as a married man. It was funny and at the same time had some very good messages.

    WALK OUT!!!! OR BETTER YET SAVE YOUR MONEY

    There are a few movies that deserve to be walked out on and THIS IS 40 is one of those movies, better yet save your money the funny parts are what they show you on the trailer the rest of the movie is just two people turning 40 yelling at each other because their life did not turned out what they wanted to be blah blah blah stupid ******* movie even the fact that the main character Leslie Mann walks around half naked through some of the movie coupled with the fact that Megan Fox is in a bikini most of the movie cannot save this worthless piece of film

    Maybe not for everyone, but we loved it.

    In our early 50's, we can easily look back on the times this movies portrays and laugh. And Laugh and laugh.

    Melissa McCarthy was hilarious (Stay for the outtakes).

    This is 40

    This is 40 was very funny. It was also very realistic and so true ,acting was great and I would see it again.
    Being in my 40's I could relate to alot of this movie and it was so hilariously funny seeing on the big screen with someone else having the same issues.

    Don't waste your money.

    We would have walked out if we weren't there with another couple. When we got outside they said the same thing-lol.
    I honestly cannot understand the good reviews. To each his own I guess.

    Very Real, Very Enjoyable

    I feel this is one of Judd Apatow's best films to date. Although it is not what you come to normally expect from him (a comedy); it is well written, heartfelt, and filled with a cast of characters that I found relatable.

    Long & Boring

    No comparison to Knocked Up at all! All the funny moments were already in the trailer.
    Felt like I was watching a boring reality show about a couple depressed about turning 40 years old.
    Movie was too long. I couldln't wait for the movie to end.
