    Laughed my butt off

    I though this movie was great, I recommend it to anyone. Funny Movie, had me laughing from begging to end. Plus Great eye candy for the fellas. Probably not suitable for lil ones, but teenagers should be fine to watch, nothing too graphic, mostly lots of adult language.

    Boring!

    What a waste of time! This is not the funny movie you think it is going to be. There is way too much bad lanquage as well.

    Not what I expected, but very entertaining

    My wife and I went to see This is 40 expecting a comedy, and although the movie has many very humorous parts it is actually much more about the issues most married couples face dealing with their relationship, raising kids, and the typical problems they face.

    We both enjoyed it and thought it was a great way to spend a snowy Saturday afternoon.

    This is 40

    I love the actors in the film, especially Leslie Mann, but this movie was overkill on vulgarity. Hollywood seems to think in order for a movie to be funny, it has to overload it with this kind of language. After a while it gets uncomfortable to watch and you start looking at your watch wanting it to get over. It could have been a good movie if they just left more room for the imagination. Both my wife and I walked out before it was over. For a Friday night, theater was less than 20% full, so others must have got the message out. Seemed like at least 10% of the people that were there were playing on their smart phones.

    Funny For 40somethings!

    First, it was date night for my wife and I.
    Second, she just turned 40 last year.
    Third, we have 2 girls who fight ALL the time.
    Fourth, my wife hates my music.
    Fifth, I love LOST.

    Needless to say, I was laughing so hard in the first 5 minutes I almost pee'd my pants. Maybe it was because we fit the "target" audience and find so many things "relatable", but I felt the director Judd Apatow really got it right. Sure there were some "unrealistic" moments, but overall, great cast, hilarious moments...great cameo by Melissa McCarthy! Be sure to stay for after the initial credits.

    I only gave it a "Go" because I'm not sure if you are under 40, if you would get it.

    Took a long time for the plot to develop...never felt like it really ever exposed itself. There are some ridiculously funny (and ridiculous) scenes in the movie, but felt like there was too much use of the F word, just for the sake of using the F word.

    All in all...I wish I would have spent the money to see something else.

    Definitely not for kids!

    Great movie for 40 somethings with kids!! My son went to see it with his girlfriend & said that we HAD to go see it since it was basically US! So we went & my hubby & I laughed our butts off! Great movie! Very entertaining.

    Could've ended after 90 minutes and they would've covered it all

    This was a cute movie, definitely rings true to many couples who after a few years get stuck in a rut and need to find their chemistry again. However, I was fidgeting by the end of the movie. I couldn't wait for it to wrap up. Way too long for the plot. Melissa McCarthy is a freaking riot and be sure to stay for her outtake after the credits...even though you'll probably want to bolt as soon as they start :-)

    too long, no real point to the movie

    I kept waiting for something to happen, which really it never did. Just a drawn out look at a dysfunctional family...seen enough. Would not recommend

    Don't waste your time

    Thought this movie would be a nice light hearted movie. Not so much... Two hours of watching 2 unhappy people bicker about their marraige and their lives wore on my nerves. The only bright spot are the 2 darling girls who play the daughters. I look forward to seeing their bright faces in more movies.

    This must have been the most disappointing Judd Apatow movie I have ever seen. I literally did not laugh one single time and I do not think even if I had been stoned out of my mind I would have laughed at this. You literally have to be 40+ with children for this movie to be funny at all or it is just crap. Rudd and Mann I'm sure are amusing to their target audience, but I don't understand why you would make a movie for such a small audience. So can someone refund the 2+ hours of my life back I wasted watching this junk? It should have come with a disclaimer before buying my ticket.

    Terrible!

    I signed up for this just so that I could state my opinion of this movie. Terrible, not funny, in my opinion unecessarily vulgar! Walked out in the middle of it. I'm not that far past 40, and I have probably only walked out of one or two other movies in my life!

    ROTFL!!

    My husband & I went to see this movie & we thought it was hilarious!! Very realistic on married life with children & In-Laws. I could have done with out the "F" bomb so many times, so wouldn't recommend taking the kids to see it, but still very funny for adults. Melissa McCarthy's part in the movie was awesome! she is a true comedian!

    I have to give 'This is 40' a B+. I really, really enjoyed this film! I was excited to see it since it's kind of a continuation from 'Knocked Up' - which I love. I, however, am not a huge fan of comedies. I don't think a lot of things are funny but this movie was hilarious! I thought it was a great spin-off. Everyone did an excellent job, especially Leslie Mann's daughters. Although, I do wish Seth Rogan and/or Katharine Higel made an appearance. I know many people who saw the movie and thought the same thing so that was disappointing. I would see this movie again and recommend it.

    So unrealistic

    The movie was awful. To be funny, one would need to identify with the situation of at least one of the characters. The movie was so disjointed and out of touch with reality that it was bizarre, not humorous.
