    This is Horrible

    The lead characters are so vapid and narcissistic that it's painful to watch. Add to that the hateful and demeaning manner in which they talk to and treat each other, this movie is a horrible waste of time.

    One of the worst movies I have ever seen!

    It is very seldom that I have walked out of a movie, but I came very close to doing just that after watching this HORRIBLE film. I expected it to be light-hearted and funny. Instead it was boring and depressing with a non-existent story line that made no sense and went no where. The best part of the whole movie was about 2 minutes that were dedicated to a small role that Melissa McCarthy had. She was hysterical, the rest was just DUMB! Save your $10 and spend it on a decent movie!

    40 is anger.

    If you're in a troubled relationship, then this movie might be just what you need to end it. The movie is basically 2 hours of awkward arguments with 15 minutes of laughs sprinkled in. Somehow the director found a way to make Jason Segel's scenes not funny...

    This is 40! Take your best friend or take your boyfriend!

    I thoroughly enjoyed this movie! Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd have great realistic chemistry on screen, they are my favorite on screen married couple. Judd Apatow never fails me and always brings comedic relief into real life situations. This movie doesn't sugarcoat married life and all the things that come along with it. I can only hope that I will be as hot and hilarious as Leslie Mann when I'm forty. Love, love, love how Judd Apatow casts him and Leslie's daughters in his movies. Go see this if you're single or if you've been married for twenty years, I guarantee you will identify with the situations while laughing at the sarcastic intelligent story line.

    This is 40

    Very cute movie. A little too crude in some parts that didn't need to be there. Also, about 15 minutes too long. Other than that - very entertaining.

    Good movie but long

    This was a funny movie, at times, but I feel like it was dragged out WAY too long. I'd recommend waiting until it is available to rent rather than spending money at the theater.

    Paul Rudd & Leslie Mann were Great but the rest of the Cast includingMegan Fox were awful in This Is 40. I Laughed maybe 5 times; 2 hours and 15 minutes. The scene where Paul Rudd takes a pic of himself with his legs up was one of the only funny scenes for him other than 2 scenes in the beginning.

    Jason Segal isn't that funny like his Character (How I Met your mother, Forgetting Sarah Marshall). But I forgot he was in it and a Special Surprise Melissa McCarthy was in it She made me smile.

    I went to see this movie with my 76 year old mother and her 82 year old boyfriend. They didm;t understand why the nudity & vulgar language. It was too long ago for them to remember the stresses of raising a young family while watching most signs of your youth disappear. It takes a toll as does caring for an older parent financially.The couple try very hard to take care of the entire family but when business is failing, choices must be made. Family is a tender beast that will attack without provocation. Other family members are too busy with their own lives to find a place for an estranged relative because it brings up too much pain within themselves or anger of having been treated so badly. This movie is a fun lesson in compromise, how to adjust & readjust due to life's surprises. I enjoyed the move & enjoyed seeing how the characters had evolved. Good move, but you may consider leaving the older seniors home for this one. LL

    Way funny!

    Great movie! Lots of true to life scenes, situations we all may find ourselves in at times. Plenty of humor to make the most awkward times bearable! Definitely worth seeing! Loved all the characters, especially the children!

    Wait for it to come to DVD or TV

    I was really looking forward to this - thought it would be funny. Looking for a fun movie for New Year's Eve. The funniest parts are in the trailer and those WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE MOVIE! There is a lot of family dialogue that begins and ends with screaming "Shut up" at one another. By the middle of the movie had wished I had gone to see "Guilt Trip" instead.

    ROTFL!!

    My husband & I went to see this movie & we thought it was hilarious!! Very realistic on married life with children & In-Laws. I could have done with out the "F" bomb so many times, so wouldn't recommend taking the kids to see it, but still very funny for adults. Melissa McCarthy's part in the movie was awesome! she is a true comedian!

    Not so Funny

    If your insecure and miserable at or over 40 and you want to be wallow in it, go see this. If not get over it and enjoy life. Had a few funny moments the rest was a waste.

    Dissappointed

    Wanted to see this movie so bad, was funny for the first 45 minutes then they fought for the rest of the flick. And to top it all off, there were a few scenes from the preview that didn't seem to make it to the full length film. I'd wait to see it on DVD it you have to.

    Some parts from the trailer didn't make it to the film which is always a little disappointing also my boyfriend found this movie to be depressing and boring but I thought it was pretty good. A few lol moments mostly sad honest real life downer stuff that didn't really make you feel good.

    Save your money

    Very predictable plot. You get a taste of what there life is, a crisis comes and rough times. The next part of the movie is how they work on the crisis. Bleh, so predictable and the laughs were forced as if they had resurrected Seinfeld's writers to produce this.
