    You did it Tyler Perry!

This movie has it all, it will make you laugh, cry and scream. Tyler Perry was fantastic as Alex Cross and Mathew Fox as the villian!
People need to go in and see this movie with an open mind and not compare it to the one's Morgan Freeman did. Don't you think that's the reason there is so much time between the last Alex Cross and this one? Morgan was great and so is Tyler and I hope he makes many more movies as Alex Cross!

    engaging exciting drama thriller

    by nng

this was definitely a good movie- the story was solid and it was like a CSI type movie, but with a better plot and more intriguing storyline. Every minute kept you glued to the screen really. The acting was so-so and semi sub par with some actors/actresses- it just seemed too forced or out there but overall was good. matthew fox as the sociopath was of course surprising going from party of five to freak but still really well done and he I feel did the best job in his role. I had no idea what alex cross was about but it did leave you wanting for another episode of it and cross's adventures. the concept of the 'evil villain' crossing cross and him being the nemesis type was a little too stereotypical straight from the book unoriginal done many times but still overall the movie was very engaging and kept you interested the whole time and wanting to know what happens next. I would recommend to go for sure...

    Alex Cross

Loved this movie!!! My husband, my son and I went to see this movie with two other people and we loved it. Can't wait to see what Tyler does next. I couldn't wait to see the movie then especially after I heard the interview done by Tyler Perry on the radio and that the Starring Actor was Tyler Perry and that the director was Rob Cohen and the whole story was based on the Cross novels by James Patterson. Loved it!

Tyler Perry is not Alex Cross!

This movie was definitely out of Tyler's element. He was playing an unbelievable role in my opinion. The Villain in the movie, don't ask me who that was, but his character wasn't believable as well. Every time he was about to kill or do something sinister there was this effect that used in the film as if he was about to flash back to something but then it just cuts back to him with this half assed crazy look on his face before he killed. It was pathetic. Sicily Tyson had no business playing the role she played. Overall the casting for this movie sucked. The director was even worse. The Movie had the makings for a box office hit but this was a tragedy. Let me be clear, I'm a huge Tyler Perry fan and was really looking forward to seeing him outside of his element a little. In hindsight I feel that TPS is where all his work should come from, from here on out!

One again Tyler Perry amazes and keeps me glued to the screen. I'm usually a big Madea fan but when this movie came out I decided I had to see it. There is a couple scenes where a Madea's personality trickles out, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did it for fun. The movie was a little dark, the bad guy did some things that made me cringe and look away. But all in all it was a great movie.

Hard to visualize anyone but Morgan Freeman as Alex Cross. Tyler Perry did a remarkable job. Hard to look at him and see any other character except Medea, but was pleasantly surprised. Looked like he captured the character like James Patterson meant for him to be betrayed. Matthew Fox was excellent as the bad guy, another surprise protrayal.

    Awesome Movie

If you love Sniper Movies, this is one to watch. Alex Cross was definately a great movie. Tyler Perry plays the title Character "Alex Cross". Matthew Fox plays the Sniper and Villian "Picasso"....Matthew Fox definately deserves a nomination for Best Villian of the year for his role in this movie. A little twist toward the end. Great supporting cast as well. Definately go see this if you like action and if you like sniper movies. You will Not Be Disappointed.

    such a let down.

I am a HUGE, die hard James Patterson fan. Especially the novels featuring Alex Cross as the lead character. I was extremely disapointed in this movie. I think Tyler Perry was a sad sad choice to play Alex Cross-especially when you have Morgan Freemans' shoes to fill as the original Alex Cross. the acting was mediocre at best-although Matthew Fox is shockingly believable as a psychopath.

    Alex Cross- CSI Meets

In the hit new film of the fall season, Tyler Perry stars as Alex Cross a criminal investigator on the hunt for a deranged madman (Mathew Fox). After the untimely death of his wife. Alex Cross decides to take the law into his own hands to inflict vengeance upon the individual responsible. But Alex discovers he is not up against the usual run-of-the-mill culprit, but a devious ex-militant who is both lethal and strategic. To find the man, he must break ties and confront a criminal mastermind who derives pleasure from pain even if that 'meeting him at the gates of hell.' The film is an action packed roller coaster full of impressive fight sequences and explosions. Its an thrill ride worth the admission.

This was an excellent action movie. Both Tyler Perry and Matthew Fox were excellent in their portrayals of their characters. It took some time to discover who the real villian was however he did get his reward in the end. This is not a movie for the kids.

    What a waste of money

    by

I took a chance on this movie and I lost out. I hated this movie, and almost left the theater, but decided to stay and see it it would get better over time. It did not. This is the most fake action movie, I've ever seen, and I've see most of them, as I have a 25 year old son, who dragged me to every action movie ever made.

Tyler Perry's hubris is overwhelming. Can't he see there is more to being a believable action hero than carrying a shotgun and running too and fro trying to look tough.
An action hero usually makes you believe the story, makes you believe what is happening and makes the story real. Why didn't he use any of the many talented black actors in Hollywood, i.e.Terence Howard, Michael Ealy or Denzel Washington.
Tyler, take acting lessons or stick with Medea.
I just read, while perusing the reviews, that the great actor Idris Elba was talked about do the movie. What happened? Tyler/Madea never make that mistake again.

Tyler Perry Failed...A definate C rated movie...shame it should have been better

This was bad camera work, plot lines were too staggered, the glaring cadillac product placement was way too overdone, this was lacking in every way.

Tyler Perry just didnt fit, Don Cheedle, Jamie Foxx or any number of african american actors wouldhave done better, it felt like cussing was taken out, reality of cop jobs removed and it just didnt feel like Perry had it down.

This was a waste of a great series of books and i hope they change him out for another harder hitting actor.

Mathew fox had a great badie roll and could have played it even better but the plot lines, the shaking head, the lack of gore or evil nature to him shamed the best his character could have offered...i was even hoping hed survive to get an offshoot film..he was one of those likable baddied like hannibal...you wanted him to get away.

Its sad when you want the baddie to survive more then the goodie

Grade:- C (it had so much hope and so litle delivered)

    Alex Cross

This film kept my attention, but the script was rather weak. Dialogue was very predictable throughout most of the movie. I also felt the film lacked good character development.

I couldn't help but think "The Butcher" character was a cross between the cat burglar from the 1986 "Shadow in the Dark" episode of Miami Vice and Mitch Leary from the 1993 film "In the Line of Fire" with all of the bizarre expressions and the phone conversations with Cross.

I enjoy seeing Tyler Perry in roles that don't require him to wear a wig and a dress. (I love Madea but I think she's run her course on the big screen.) He continues to demonstrate some decent acting skills beyond his well-known comedy-in-drag routine.

I hated the super shaky action scenes. The use of hand-held cameras left me craving Alka Seltzer and Extra Strength Tylenol. I also found John C. McGinley unbelievable as the chief of a major city police department.

    Overall, just so-so.

    Bad actors....

The storyline wasn't all bad, but the actors are pretty terrible. It's hard to see Tyler acting outside of the grandma. It's entertaining, but missing explosive acting.

GREAT movie! If you're a James Patterson fan or a fan of action thrillers this is a MUST SEE movie. I was very impressed with Tyler Perry's replication of my favorite detective Dr. Alex Cross and Matthew Fox was an extremely convincing psychopath! I had read about the making of the film before going and it said that the two actors had been kept apart for the entire filming (between scenes) so that the animosity would be convincing and it WAS! I hope that they make more James Patterson books into movies. I would go and see each and every one! I wouldn't recommend taking young children to see this movie.
