    Tyler Perry as Alex Cross

I think TP did a good job in Alex Cross. He challenged himself to do more than the comedy we are used to him being associated with as Madea. He pulled it off. I would love to see him doing more movies as himself. I believe that with his work ethic, he's only gonna get better!

    Wait for the DVD

Saw Alex Cross last night, first of all the bad guy Sinister was so bland, and during the main fight scene they tried to show it both Alex Cross and Sinisters POV which made the majority of the scene blurry and you couldn't tell what was going on and that was really the only action scene. Basically a dull movie although I will give Tyler Perry credit because prior to this I couldn't picture him as anything other than Madea let alone an action hero. Edit

    Tyler portrayed Alex well

It was good to see Tyler Perry in a movie that would give him the opportunity to show his diversity. He portrayed Alex unlike Morgan Freeman, but it was believable and enjoyable.

The movie had great action scenes, although somewhat predictable in most action.

    Love Tyler Perry

I am a huge fan of Tyler Perry so I may be a little partial when writing this review. I thought it was a good movie. Would it be one you just absolutely have to see at the theater, no. But I am always willing to support Tyler Perry's productions and I have no regrets going to the theater to see it. He played an action roll and I thought it was well put together.

    Alex Cross

Although not a Tyler Perry "Madea" enthusiast, I enjoyed this movie. Tyler's acting skills were commendable, and his character was believable. I did notice a "Madea" moment in the dialogue, when it seem that Madea was channeling through. Very good Tyler!!

Tyler Perry Rocked the role of 'Alex Cross - the beginning days".

I've been an avid Patterson reader since I was quite young and continue to read his and books (co-written by new talent). Of course you cannot beat Morgan Freeman as the Optimum Choice for the character Alex Cross as well as having Morgan narrate the Audio Books for his own character. This movie takes us back to Alex's first wife and his life in Detroit before the move to D.C. that to me sets an important background to introduce Perry to this role without actually replacing Freeman. Not that Freeman is not capable but this allows an open mind to accept Perry into a role that he Clearly had no problem melding into. I rate this movie very High as I have read great books and have seen how they become slaughtered once made into a Movie. Patterson 'Holds to the Story' not loosing sight of the original Plot of the book - Huge Success in my eyes. I look forward to more Cross Movies with Tyler Perry to carry on the Heat!!! Kudos Mr. Patterson.

Well Done & Even James Patterson will like it!

    by

They did a great job creating the angst & power of James Patterson's writing. Great acting & a wonderful balance between love & violence that the story is all about... Even a great twist at the end!

    Alex Cross Movie

My husband and I enjoyed the movie alot. I thought Tyler did a wonderful job playing a character as an educated detective something a little different than Madea. I think Tyler will be the upcoming Denzel Washington. Tyler Perry has proven he is capable of being more than just Madea although Madea is loved by many, I think Tyler's fans will embrace his mor serious roles. God Bless you Tyler.......

    ALEX CROSS

This film has some intense moments and some suspense throughout. I thought that the director moved the story along well and the screenwriter did an excellent job making the flow of the film. The bad guy in the film is great as well as Tyson (Cross's mother). If I had to pick on something in the film it would be the overall cast. I think that Mark Walberg or Denzel Washington would have given the main character much more believability. It was different seeing Tyler Perry in this type of role. He did a good job; but not a rememberable one. The police Captain is from the SCRUBS tv show and it was hard to accept him as a gritty and tough policeman. The film is still worth your time and money, even though I think with the right people and more action it could have been a super action packed film.

    Good movie!

    by

i thought Tyler Perry was really good in this part; Alex Cross is very intellectual, very much a family man, and Tyler did it well. It was exciting and kept you on the edge of your seat. I thought Matthew Fox was a little over the top myself. I'm not sure how the story didn't make sense, it was not disjointed and the dialogue was not stilted. I think all these reviewers just want don't want to see Tyler Perry in anything different than Madea! Negative Nancys I say.

This movie was one of the greatest movie and it was so true to life. Yes it was an adventure throughout the entire movie. There was not a dull moment. There were some sad moments and so is life. It was good to see Tyler Perry play a total different role from the Madea role. He is just a very good actor and I think he got his point across playing another role. I hope he continues to make other movies and play other roles. I think this movie is a Must Go!
