    Was not very Thrilling..

    by

I am an avid James Patterson fan and adore all of the Alex Cross novels. I loved the movies "Kiss the Girls" and "Along Came a Spider." They were exciting and offered so much into the world of Cross. I was a little skeptical that Tyler Perry was playing the lead but thought maybe he could pull it off by chance. Over all, the movie has some lackluster acting, bad camera work and no depth to the characters what so ever. There were only two scenes with his children. They are major characters. Also, even though the scenes with his wife were convincing and her death scene made me cry, I could not get into Cross' mind. He is a genius and I was not feeling it at all. When Cross gave his so called profile, it felt as if they just pulled psychological names from a book and stuck them together. I am so disappointed in this movie. I will not recommend it at all.

    Alex Cross is great!!!

I wasn't sure whether or not I was going to be able to differentiate Tyler Perry from the roles that he has played prior to this movie but he did such an amazing job!!! It was a great movie to not really get into the details but he showed his versatility in acting and I look forward to him acting in even more movies like this. If you are looking for a family movie... try and bring teenagers and not the little ones... it is an action movie (violence).

    Wait for the DVD

Saw Alex Cross last night, first of all the bad guy Sinister was so bland, and during the main fight scene they tried to show it both Alex Cross and Sinisters POV which made the majority of the scene blurry and you couldn't tell what was going on and that was really the only action scene. Basically a dull movie although I will give Tyler Perry credit because prior to this I couldn't picture him as anything other than Madea let alone an action hero. Edit

    ALEX CROSS

TYLER SHOWED THAT HE HAS ACTING TALENT THAT FAR SURPASSES ALL HE';S SHOWN IN HIS MOVIES AND HIS ROLE OF "MADEA". THE MOVIE IS SUITABLE FOR TEENS ADULTS.

    See with new eyes.

    by

I heard the critics tear this movie apart. Fortunately I didn't allow them to influence me or my wife from seeing this. I also read fan reviews that weren't impressed with any part of it. This made me wonder--did we see the same movie?

Many critics stated that Tyler Perry should either give up acting or if he continues to go back to wearing a dress and playing a woman. I believe that just like Robin Williams battled hard to break that "Mork" image, Tyler Perry might have this problem. I have never seen him in any of those movies so I guess that it was easier for me to enjoy his abilities without prejudice from other films.

My wife and I enjoyed this film tremendously. The acting was good, believable and the film in general was well done. If you see this movie --just see it for the action picture that it is. The wobbling effect that one critic mentioned was supposed to be a point of view situation --something like the Blair witch movie, thankfully only one scene is like this.

Tyler Perry did a great job. I read Mal Vincents review and I do not think that he and I saw the same movie. I recommend this to all James Patterson fans.

Tyler is the new Alex Cross!!!! The movie was very good. There was a lot of action and drama. And you won't believe how good Tyler Perry is in the role....

    Interesting!

The acting is excellent, casting is great, lots of action, plot was shallow, but for James Patterson's Alex Cross book fans it is a well worthwhile bit of excitement. While it departs greatly from the books, it is every bit as exciting as any of the novels, and fills the adult need for an occasional action film on a cold rainy afternoon.

too sadistic, violent....like Perry, could have lost the full face shot stqre at the end of the flick.

fast moving lot of action, prefer more subtle thrillers.

    Very Plesant Surprise

    by u8005

An excellent mixture of action, drama and comedy. This is not a Madea movie in no stretch of the imagination. The actors did a perfect job of delivering believability. I went in doubtful that Mr. Perry could pull off an action movie but he not only delivered, he over delivered. Only a few scenes fell flat but overall this movie will hold your attention the entire ride.

While the critics said "Don't go," I really enjoyed this movie and was totally surprised
by Tyler Perry's interpretation of Alex. I was afraid I would keep thinking of Morgan Freeman, (or Madea) but I didn't at all. I wasn't too happy that his partner was white only because in the books he is black. However, it was a good thriller. I hope Tyler does some more Alex Cross movies.

    I loved the movie but....

    by trf123

The actors were great. I want to see more them in future movies. The movies was good. The critics should find other work to do. They don't know what they're talking about anymore. I never listen to them. This movie was one of many that had I listened to them, I may not have gone. Having read the books, I was kind of disappointed that changes were made in the plot for the sake of the movie. There were a couple of down times as well that wasted precious minutes. Maybe try a new director next time.

Don't Judge a movie by it's Actors' former Characters... Go see it for yourself!

    by

Although I agree with Liz123 that some important points were left out in regards to Cross' motive to avenge his family and "friends". I believe Tyler broke the "Madea" mold in this film by playing a character outside of the Tyler Perry role call. Micheal Fox's character is well played. Although, I would've like to have seen a little back ground on him and a few of the other characters in the film. I won't leak any details, you should get out and see the movie and judge for yourselves.

I thought the movie overall was ok. It was nice to see Tyler Perry in a more serious roll. The movie had some surprises, a lot of action and always enjoy seeing Ceclie Tyson. Matthew Fox was great as the psyco villian. But the ending was predictable.
