    Alex Cross w/Tyler Perry

    by

I throughly enjoyed Alex Cross (Tyler Perry). I got to see him portray a different character as himself (a man), and really enjoyed all actors/actresses. I didn't expect the ending to change up on me. Mr. Perry is constantly evolving and I'm quite pleased with his abilities. I absoultely enjoyed the entire movie & look forward to seeing more movies with all actors/actresses in the future. Good luck to all characters in their future endeavors this is a very well written movie with plenty of twist and turns and it keeps u guessing. Thanks again & I look forward to seeing you all on the big screen again. This is a keeper on dvd.

Tyler Perry Rocked the role of 'Alex Cross - the beginning days".

I've been an avid Patterson reader since I was quite young and continue to read his and books (co-written by new talent). Of course you cannot beat Morgan Freeman as the Optimum Choice for the character Alex Cross as well as having Morgan narrate the Audio Books for his own character. This movie takes us back to Alex's first wife and his life in Detroit before the move to D.C. that to me sets an important background to introduce Perry to this role without actually replacing Freeman. Not that Freeman is not capable but this allows an open mind to accept Perry into a role that he Clearly had no problem melding into. I rate this movie very High as I have read great books and have seen how they become slaughtered once made into a Movie. Patterson 'Holds to the Story' not loosing sight of the original Plot of the book - Huge Success in my eyes. I look forward to more Cross Movies with Tyler Perry to carry on the Heat!!! Kudos Mr. Patterson.

If you MUST see it...Wait for Cable!!

I haven't read any Alex Cross books, but I imagine that anybody who has would be even more disappointed with this movie than I. Though it WAS strange to see Tyler Perry in this "anti-Madea" role, I didn't find him completely unbelievable. Unfortunately, the movie just lacked SUBSTANCE. I wasn't really engaged emotionally, and the ending was especially lack-luster. It was just an OK way to spend a couple of hours of a vacation day.

    Good but not Great

    by tonimc

Tyler Perry did a really great job of acting, especially since he is usually seen in a comedic role. The rest of the acting was good too. The story line was a bit weak, but all in all, if you don't expext an "amazing" plot and movie, an enjoyable night out, but not with the kits, it's a bit too intense in places.

    New Alex Cross

    by JCPass

I did enjoy the movie....seemed a little strange without Morgan Freeman, but I know he can't play this role anymore. That's why I couldn't rate it must go. I'm not sure Tyler Perry is right for the part either

    Alex Cross

As an avid reader of Pattersons's Alex Cross books, I thought this was a very good movie. I did think some of the violence was unnessecary and It lost some of the family story lines which humanize Patterson's books.

But, if they make another one, I would go.

This is an entertaining movie if you are interested in a little suspense and the always irresistable appeal of a psycho bad guy! It is not going to win any awards but is not a bad way to spend a couple of hours. Tyler Perry was better than I expected and the Psycho was very good. However, the climactic fight scene gave me a headache - it appeared that they attached the camera to a jackhammer while the scene was filmed. There was so much motion in the picture, it was truly painful.

Alex Cross Is Entertaining and Definitely Worth Seeing

I really enjoyed the movie. Lot's of action and a good story line--will definitely keep you engaged. Having read many of James Patterson's Alex Cross books, the movie definitely seemed authentic. Surprisingly, Tyler Perry played the roll of Alex Cross very well. I would definitely recommend the film to others.

Tears swelled up in my eyes. Suspenseful and heart wrenching at the same time. It's so nice to see Tyler Perry spreading his wings, branching out to show us his full range of capabilities as an actor. He did not disappoint. What surprised me the most is this film allowed a man
to show real emotions. Righteous and down right raw response to a tragedy.

I thought it moved rather rapidly, sometimes leaving us with more questions than answers,
which then required us to mull over how the perp. was able to do some of his
    masterful feats.

I enjoyed it. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give it a 7. Worth the trip to see it.

    Wait for the DVD

    by

Saw Alex Cross last night, first of all the bad guy Sinister was so bland, and during the main fight scene they tried to show it both Alex Cross and Sinisters POV which made the majority of the scene blurry and you couldn't tell what was going on and that was really the only action scene. Basically a dull movie although I will give Tyler Perry credit because prior to this I couldn't picture him as anything other than Madea let alone an action hero.

Hard to visualize anyone but Morgan Freeman as Alex Cross. Tyler Perry did a remarkable job. Hard to look at him and see any other character except Medea, but was pleasantly surprised. Looked like he captured the character like James Patterson meant for him to be betrayed. Matthew Fox was excellent as the bad guy, another surprise protrayal.

Good movie. Too much blowing up of things. Tyler Perry did a commendable job but I just do not see him carrying that role. Cicely Tyson added some class and believability to the movie.
