    Killing ME softly

    by

After reading the mixed reviews between the fans and the critics, I wanted to decide for myself if this movie was good. I went into this movie with low expectations, hoping to be pleasantly surprised, but that never happened. The movie started out with promise, but fell apart somewhere in the middle. Aren't movies suppose to have a climax and a resolution? I do like Brad Pitt, but I can't believe he decided to do this movie. I found some of the dialogue to be entertaining, but it wasn't enough to make the rest of the movie good. I'm rating this a NO instead of an Oh NO because I think it could have been better. How do you rate a movie that's good in the beginning and crap at the end?

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS MOVIE...

    by petico

This has to be the WORST movie I've seen in as long as I can remember. I'm not one to leave review because of time issues but this one I couldn't pass. How in the world would "Brad Pitt" be in such a awful movie..? Most of it is just people sitting and talking, what a waste of my time....we are movie buffs and some are great, others good and others not so good but this one was AWFUL!!

    Killing Them Softly

This movie should be re-titled "Killing the Audience Slowly"! One of the worst movies (if not the worst) that I have seen in years. My wife and I almost left after the first 15 minutes. The plot was lame, the slow-motion brutality was unnecessary, the continuity between and during scenes poor. i.e. cocktail glasses at the airport bar.

Overall, my suggestion is to stay away from this dog!

    Killing Them softly

Terrible movie - the theater should be embarrassed to charge for this DOG. Thought because Brad Pitt was in it, it would be worth seeing. It was VERY SLOW, VERY BLOODY - truly can't think of ONE redeeming this about this film. If the goal was to show an extremely seedy side of life it succeeded - that's the only thing it succeeded in doing.

    Boring Me slowly

    by windex1

Oh my God, the WORST movie I have seen in a LONG time. I thought with such star power it would be better. I should've left in the first 10 minutes but I kept expecting it to get better. Don't waste your money!

    Funny ****

Love the situational humor that this guy got himself into. The two idiots where a real bore and took away from some good ****. And the close up of their stinky sweaty bodies were a bit much at times. I got it, they didn't need to keep expounding on them being low-lifes'. That was my beef with the rather good movie otherwise

Ugh, hard to sit through to the finish

This movie is horrible. And really weird. Not at all what we were expecting and very disappointing to see Brad Pitt in such a bad flick. Everyone got up and walked out half way through, but we stuck it out thinking it might just be slow and pick up. But it didn't. The only redeeming part of the movie is that it appears to have been filmed in post Katrina Louisiana and we all know that part of the country has been ignored and forgotten. Kudos to Brad for making that part happen. But the rest, ***etaboutit.

    Not good

This was bad. All meaningless dialog, much of with had nothing to do with what little plot there was. Overacted with no feelings ever developed for the characters. I wanted them to shoot me and get this movie over with. DON'T GO, Don't rent..

    Kill ME Now

    by

I wish I could put a Spoiler Alert on here, but there is nothing to spoil. The movie has nothing to talk about and was very hard to keep awake during the movie. Brad Pitt has really moved down a notch in my eyes when picking a movie. I mean when you hear the names like: Samuel Jackson, Morgan Freeman, Jennifer Anniston, or George Clooney, you automatically know the movie is going to be good. I felt that way about Brad Pitt as well. Really bad choice for him to have his name attached to this waste of time. Sad that his name is the ONLY thing that will sale this movie. He will end up paying in the long run, cause you can not trust him to make a good movie. It is not even the role he played, which is very different from his norm, the movie plot, if it had one, was terribly lacking. I would not even pay the $1at Redbox to see this movie again. Don't waste your $12, spend it on something more worth wild, like...buying new erasers for your pencils.

    Killing them softly

This movie was so slow and was not entertaining. I got up to leave 3 times but my friends said what and see may be it will get better. It did not. I went to see the movie because Brad Pitt is always so good in any movie I seen. I don't know how he even accepted this role. Save your money.

Not as advertised, but still pretty good as a character study

The trailer for this film makes it look like a free-for-all meltdown of criminal missteps that Brad Pitt comes in to clean-up with very large guns. In reality, this is a talking head movie that has what little action there is capsulized in brief, hyper-violent nuggets compressed between LONG stints of getting to know our notably-predictable rogues gallery, warts and all. It?s the longest (and driest) episode of The Sopranos ever. Fortunately, I generally like talkey films (it?s what I?ve come to appreciate in this era in lieu of actual storytelling). The film also rises above its stereotypes with great acting and a narrative that symbolically ties the capitalism and corporatization that runs - and ruins - our country into the actions of gangsters. This was all pretty cool. Well, until the hammer-driven sermon of the last five minutes. That was just preachy. All in all, a decent start

    What was Brad Pitt thinking?

A ridiculous series of monologues of drug addicts and drunks. If Pitt did this movie just so he could rant about America being a racket instead of a community then he's the chump he came off as. Give your money back Brad.

It's pretty easy to see which critics are PAID for their reviews.

    Killing Them Softly- SO SO

Was expecting a bit more ?Pananzz? to the film, with all the great actors involved.
I did think the plot was too thin and not much to it.
There was small kids in this audience which I did not feel this film was at all appropriate for a what looked like under 10 years of age. Owing to the language and content.
The directing was great, and the film had a certain comedy aspect when they haggled over the price of killing people in this economy.

To the Castle Rock Management, PLEASE turn up the heating it is always too cold in your movie theatre, I am surprised you get any ?Movie goers? at all. It?s the only place you have to
put on layers to go inside with the draft on your head all the time.
Even in the summer the A/C is at freezing level.

    Trying to sell Brad Pitt

    by Nutt32

"Killing them softly" will have you asking for your money back at the box office. All of the good and exciting parts of the movie are shown in the trailor. I believe they tried to sell this movie by piecing together the trailor in a way that leaves you expecting way more than the movie delivers. The trailor led you to believe that Brad Pitt would be a hired killing and have various contracts to full fill which is far from the truth. Also James Ganfolfini role was well overplayed in the trailor as well because his charcter hardly does anything in the movie and the film could have gone without his role as well. I believe they tried to sell this movie with Brad Pitt and although that might get some to the box office it won't keep them coming back. Please don't waste your time watching this film it leaves you disappointed and wishing you had the time back that you spent watching it. This movie could have and should have been much better.

    Killing Them Softly

Worst movie Brad has appeared in! I was the fifth person who walked out of the movie theatre and actually asked for my money back! I'm giving up hoping that Brad will actually appear in a half decent movie. . .I give up. Boycotting his movies from now on!
