    Killing them softly

    Three Words, "Hor ri ble"! My wife and I don't get to the movies much. Wanted to see something else but it was no longer playing. Decided to see this, seemed as if it would be good, reviews were positive, and I like Brad Pitt. My wife went to sleep midway through the movie, I had to force myself to stay awake, and the acting was mediocre at best. The ending was very disappointing. Two thumbs down! Descent graphics.

    Just Average

    I wouldn't say that this movie was horrible but then again I really don't have anything positive to say either. It really is just an average film. What you see in the trailers describes the movie in its entirety. There aren't any plot twists, everything is strictly straight forward. Guys perform a robbery and Brad Pitt enforces the retribution for the upper ehelon, that's it. I've enjoyed episodes of Law And Order more than this movie.

    Killing them Softly

    I could go on and on, but I won't for sanity's sake. Wanders lost. DISAPOINTING. It did have a few good moments with Brad Pitt; with out whom this movie would have gone straight to Video.. Kerplunk!

    TERRIBLE MOVIE

    What a waste...This movie could have been great. Instead, it turned into another example of the Hollywood elite making a political statement. I managed to stay for the whole thing but I think a full 1/3 of the audience left before it was over. This was the first time I have EVER truly wanted my money back from a theater. Sad....

    Not as advertised, but still pretty good as a character study

    The trailer for this film makes it look like a free-for-all meltdown of criminal missteps that Brad Pitt comes in to clean-up with very large guns. In reality, this is a talking head movie that has what little action there is capsulized in brief, hyper-violent nuggets compressed between LONG stints of getting to know our notably-predictable rogues gallery, warts and all. It?s the longest (and driest) episode of The Sopranos ever. Fortunately, I generally like talkey films (it?s what I?ve come to appreciate in this era in lieu of actual storytelling). The film also rises above its stereotypes with great acting and a narrative that symbolically ties the capitalism and corporatization that runs - and ruins - our country into the actions of gangsters. This was all pretty cool. Well, until the hammer-driven sermon of the last five minutes. That was just preachy. All in all, a decent start

    Fresh.

    If you want something fresh that makes you think outside of the box go see this. Plain and simple. Don't go into this expecting some shoot-em-up mobster thriller.

    I can not reccomend this film to myy friends. Although the acting was great by all the stars, especially Galdofino, the story was dirty and dismal...save your money.

    welll......this is his 3 movie has a director and maybe i am to old fashion but something is missing ...i waited for the end some poeple dint they got out after 15 minutes ....the actors are good the scenario not to bad ether but something missing...the movie is also slow so wait for the dvd dont spend 11,00 on Brad Pitt...not this time ....

    I like Brad Pitt as an actor but this movie stunk. I give it a half a star.
    The best part of the movie was James Gandolfini.

    Killing Them Softly

    Horrible movie! Didn't understand the purpose of things that continued in the background throughout the movie. A lot of guys sitting around look at each other with no dialogue. Slow and boring . . . several people left in the middle. Unfortunately I stayed to the end thinking that surely there must be more to the story. Sadly, there wasn't. Two hours of my life that I will never get back.

    Killing Them "Harshly"

    I saw this film as the trailers were intriguing and I do admire Pitt, Gandolfini, and Liotta. My date felt the same way! Late afternoon show and the theater was 3/4's full. I'm an average guy looking for action, great plot, cinematography, and directing. I generally don't read critic's reviews as I find they tend to over intellectualize and over compare stories to other movies/films, to a fault. I listen to what viewers think as they are my peers and want to be entertained as I do. This movie dealt with characters who had no redeeming value. Junkies, hit men, criminals, crime bosses, murder, robberies and slow motion scenes geared to emphasize the killing did abound. These are traits I love in a fast paced cops/robbers type story but the over all pace of this movie was slow mo! I actually saw two couples leave the theater. This movie is not for everyone or for many! One redeeming value is the cinematography. Violence eventually arrives and it is "harsh". Very disappointing!

    Don't waste your money!

    My husband and I both didn't like it at all. Would have turned off if watching at home. Good acting but WAY too many unnecessary F bombs.

    Expectations

    I had certain expectations of a Brad Pitt performance. Those expectations were not met. The story line and script were mediocre to just plain terrible. The supporting cast did a fair job but when there isn't much of a script to work with, well, "ya just can't turn lead it to gold" I purchased my ticket from Fandango for $10.75, Off to the cinema and $4.00 in petrol. Popcorn and Reese's Pieces, (I brought my own water) another $10.00. Bottom line? My money would have been better spent on a 30 minute foot massage at Madame Nhu's. I'm now off to recline in my Barcalounger, watch the original cut of Heaven's Gate, knock back a single malt and have my faithful dog Kazan, lick my feet.

    Killing Them Softly Review

    This was the worst movie I've seen in a long time. I didn't get the plot of the movie. Maybe it's didn't me but I didn't understand it at all. I thought there would be more action and more of a story line. Sorry, but Brad Pitt has made one of his worst films. I almost fell asleep during it. I thought it was supposed to be more of a mob movie but was really disappointed and should have left after the 1st hour.

    The problem with this movie is not that is bad but that everyone was expecting the next snatch , goodfellas or pulp fiction. The acting was very good but is not a action pack movie .. There's dialogue and there's a message in the core of the movie .. In other words is not for someone who is looking for a simple movie .. This movie was serios, dark violent and not fun to watch . It was movie that sends a very ugly vive .. Bratt Pitt was excellent as always
