    Wait for REDBOX

Look I will start by saying I am a Brad Pitt fan and enjoy movies with substance just as much as I enjoy The Avengers....BUT WTF was this. The scenes with Mr. Pitt were decent and James Gandolfini was ok. The violence was very brutal (when they got to it) but the constant political crap playing throughout and the other performances KILLED ME and not softly either. If you must see this... wait for REDBOX which shouldn't be to far away.

    This is not the avengers.

    by

The style of this film places all of it's focus on the acting with a little support from violence and mood changing scenery. That said it delivers it's story the same way Drive did a few months back. People that thrashed this film are just dumb 20 second thrill seekers. I especially can't stand the folks that say oh no. Really, then you do better jack holes...anyways this movie will not be a commercial success and that just fine by me. Pitt and the cast did a great job. See it once and never see it again.

    Killing them softly

This is a total stinker, even Pitt could not pull it out of the toilet. In fact Brad must really be strapped for money to sink low enough to do this garbage.

    Just a waste...

I thought that with Brad Pitt starring in the movie, the reviews might have been written by haters. This movie was possibly one of the worst that it has been my misfortune to have watched from beginning to end. Much of the violence was very graphic and was carried well beyond what I felt was called for. Unfulfilled potential is how I would catagorize this film.

    Killing ME softly

    by

After reading the mixed reviews between the fans and the critics, I wanted to decide for myself if this movie was good. I went into this movie with low expectations, hoping to be pleasantly surprised, but that never happened. The movie started out with promise, but fell apart somewhere in the middle. Aren't movies suppose to have a climax and a resolution? I do like Brad Pitt, but I can't believe he decided to do this movie. I found some of the dialogue to be entertaining, but it wasn't enough to make the rest of the movie good. I'm rating this a NO instead of an Oh NO because I think it could have been better. How do you rate a movie that's good in the beginning and crap at the end?

    Horrible, Horrible, Horrible

    by

I am a huge movie fan including movies not from main stream. This movie was horrible. It could in fact be the most horrible movie I have ever seen. People got up and left during the movie and never came back. Do Not waste your money. I wouldn't even suggest renting it from Red Box or borrowing it from a friend.

Gritty, Ugly, Bordering On Gruesome, Not Exactly Fun Entertainment.

I suppose some people require this sort of stimulation as entertainment in order to fill a void they feel in their lives. I don't. I wish I could say I enjoyed this movie because I really do admire the work of Liotta, Pitt and that Sopranos guy....OK, maybe not that last guy so much. Anyway, you'd probably like to have your dinner after this feature, since it's going to make you nauseous, provided of course you don't fall asleep first. In fact, I saw a midnight showing with about 12 other people and an infant. In the end, most everyone was snoozing, EXCEPT the baby.....due to the loud noises no doubt. That "Emperor's New Clothes" crowd that follows Pitt around in a gaggle will probably swoon at this farce, as usual. As for the normal people.....well, unless you're INCREDIBLY bored, I'd advise waiting for the DVD or stream. For all the expensive talent and 'artsy fartsiness," this movie is just plain dull. Skip it. You'll be glad you did.

    Killing Them Softly

People began walking out on this film about 15 minutes into it. The actors and make-up are very real for the peolpe they are trying to portray, but the script is laborious at best. How long can you watch someone down drinks and rant? As increasingly more people continued to exit the theatre, the answer is about 30 minutes. We were a little more patient and lasted 45 minutes. We were hoping for some redeaming value, but it never came. Watching bullets exit a skull in slow motion does not a movie make. If it wasn't for the stars that are in this movie it would have never been released to theatres.

    Great acting but basically boring

    by JimJabu

Here's a film with great acting and photography, but it falls flat due to the script and the deadly dull direction. Essentially the film is a series of one on one talks between various crooks - two hit men (Brad Pitt and James Gandolfini) reminisce, a hit man (Pitt) and his boss (Richard Jenkins) come to terms, two low level crims (Trevor Long and Max Casella) get high together, etc. etc. Ray Liotta and Sam Shepard are completely wasted, though you might get some pleasure watching Liotta get a beating since he usually has been on the other side. Too bad. There is some really good acting here.

    Terrible movie!

Shocking graphic violence, pointless dialogue, and a movie that you will want to forget you ever saw. My husband walked out early on, sadly, I did not and so wish I had!!

no political message to speak of...just boring!

    by SCAZ

contrary to those that see some extra plot line there's no real political message to be seen here... the TV views and messages serve very little purpose and in at least one seen are just fluff with no connection, no meaning at all.... as if they had to fill the time so used an errant camera shot to do it... .its a boring movie. Period.
