    Excellent

    by takarus

Not your typical Disney movie. Very sentimental and very philosophical. A real tear jerker but happy ending. People who expected a slapstick romp or a comedy left 2/3rds of the way through. Timothy is designed to be the kid every parent could love---a kid with a huge heart. Timothy is an accurate portrayal of a gifted child: some big talents yet some big flaws. Beautiful art, able to engage and motivate adults yet ignorant of some knowledge people presume all kids know---honest to a fault yet inspirational. A sharp contrast to the social climbing relatives who drill their kids mercilessly, brag about a gifted program at a school like it is a social badge and are basically dead inside. The agenda of the movie comes through pretty clear: to clearly show how the heart, soul, and talent of a truly gifted child comes from within and is not beat into them by pushy parents.

If you want an extremely heartwarming movie this is it. Shallow romp, look elsewhere.

    the is a line

My kids enjoyed it. But I am spoiled by the Pixar and Dreamworks movies that can make a cross adult/kid filled gap movie. I can say with hardly a hesitation that this could have possibly been the worst movie ever. I even asked my wife just for a sanity check, same feeling. Be that as it may, there was a woman actually weeping during it, but I boldly say that it has little to do as a compliment to the movie as much as the instability of said parent. I have seen 100s if not 1000s of movies, and this one is striving for pole position (I also disliked Jack Black's Gulliver's Travels pretty hard too).

    Thanks.
    PS: I cried during ET.

Bit on The Hallmark Hall of Fame Side (ugh)!

The movie is family friendly, but I thought it was missing something. The sub-plots (parental insecurity and the town factory going under) were a bit of a distraction. This was not one of Peter Hedges best efforts. I thought Dan in Real Life and Pieces of April were far superior!

The Odd Life Of Timothy Green review

    "Is he for us?"

    "I'm getting that feeling..."

The Odd Life Of Timothy Green tells the story of a couple who wish for a child, and something magical happens. Some people don't really like different changes. But that's before everyone met Timothy.

So get out there and watch The Odd Life Of Timothy Green right now!

I saw this movie on August 24, 2012, and updated this the same date. I hope this helps... ;)

    awesome!!

My 6 year old daughter (and myself) was completely involved throughout this movie. After the movie she said, "that movie was so short." I think that says a lot for a 1 hour 44 minute movie. Great for the entire family!!!

Must see -- adults and tweens/teens

    by mrs073

I took my 12 yr old daughter to see this movie. It's not a "kids" movie even though there were a lot of families there. The story line is mature but not too mature for tweens/teens. I think I cried at least 4 times .. laughed at way more parts. It was funny, touching, moving, heartbreaking, thought-provoking ... just wonderful.

    Good family film

I really enjoyed this film. It was different, it was clever, it was thought provoking. Although I describe it as a family film, you certainly don't need to have kids to enjoy it. My kids are grown so it was just my husband and I and we both came away with the same "glad we saw that movie" feeling.

My husband and I saw The Odd Life of Timothy Green yesterday. It was the best and
most enjoyable movie we have seen in some time. We phoned our children and grand-
children when we arrived home to encourage them to see this movie. We intend to
suggest to our friends at church service tomorrow to be sure and see this film. It was
great not to have to endure foul language, nudity, etc. We plan to purchase this movie
when it comes out on DVD.

very touchy, nice movie! makes you think and appreciate what God has given you in this life:) love the message of the movie about embracing our differences rather than trying to be like everyone else. Each has excellence in their own gifts.

    Predictable

    by RixB

Way too predictable but it was cute. The actor CJ Adams (Timothy) did an amazing job as did the beautiful Odeya Rush (Joni). This pair really carried the movie for me. I love anything that Jennifer Garner is in and she didn't disappoint in this movie. This is a great movie to take young children to. My 9 year old daughter says "I don't like the way it ended."

    The Odd Life is bittersweet

This was a sweet film that I enjoyed. The actors all played their roles rather well, and there were no obvious flaws that I could find in the movie overall. This movie is geared toward people of all ages, I'd say, with nothing that would prevent someone of a certain age from enjoying it. It is truly a bittersweet movie about taking the good with the bad and learning to enjoy things as they last. There was a happy ending, and I loved to see the characters change from their different interactions with Timothy Green. There were some cute, funny parts that I might've watched again, but it wasn't much of a comedy. The story unfolds well and I would definitely recommend seeing this movie.

    GREAT MOVIE

Really enjoyed this movie...a "FEEL GOOD" movie!! Hope was brought into what seemed like a hopeless situation. It's amazing what can happen when we allow ourselves to be open and welcome in the "unexplained" things that come our way and into our lives. Would definitely recommend this movie to others.

    meh

Took my nine year old sister. We both thought it was s-l-o-w. The parents seemed high strung which made the home situation just weird. I wouldn't want them for parents.

Ok Movie - Life of Timothy Green

Kids liked it. I thought it was ok. Didn't know what to expect. This movie is like the old "Sunday night Disney Movie" from when I was a kid. No need to pay 12 / ticket to see this.
