The Odd Life of Timothy Green

A very sweet, moving and yes, ODD story. People around me brought out the tissues, but I only sniffed a little. There were some lessons in there, Ten year old Timothy showed how to win friends and influence people...he listened, he joked, he told the truth, he turned the other cheek, he saw the best in everyone, and every happening. His new "parents" demonstrated lots of mistakes that parents can make through loving their child, and learned eventually to "make better mistakes."

No violence, sex, bad language, . Refreshing.

    A feel good movie

    by

Took my 8 & 9 year old last night to see this movie. While it is an hour and forty minutes the kids enjoyed the entire movie and I think it taught them a lesson or two about growing up and the challenges parents face..

Warning: Not a dry eye in the house at the end of the movie.

    The most predictable movie ever

The actors are sound in this tear jerker but the story is so canned it is almost like you are watching a parady of a 'message' movie.

    Great movie.

As other reviewers have pointed out this may not be for kids - the emotional depth, complexity of the situations. Yes, it is a tear jerker. A sweet movie.

    Entertaining

Entertaining film for all ages with a combination of happy moments and some sad ones. Will bring some tears inn the last 10 - 15 minutes, but good ending.

    Parent trap

The movie seemed very short, and the plot was a little thin, so I have to think that the purpose of the movie was just to jerk every tear possible out of every parent in the audience. My wife's eyes were swollen for an hour after the show. My own were pretty wet when we left. All in all it was a good movie. My 9 yr old boy and 11 yr old girl both loved it.

    Very endearing........

I found this movie charming and endearing. The little boy who played Timothy was great. His movements, facial expressions, gestures....he played a child "new to the world" wonderfully. Many lessons learned from this movie. My 13-year-old daughter loved it as well.

    Such an endearing movie!

The story was fanciful but you were really able to fall into it and love all the characters. The little boy that played Timothy Green was too adorable and really made you love him and how he made everyone's life around him better. It was quirky, funny, and even had so many nuggets of inspiration. Definitely made me cry and I heard lots of other people sniffling as well. Go see this movie!!

    Yes I liked it

Very heartwarming and it did bring the tears. After the movie though I tried to figure out what audiences this would appeal to....I thinks the concepts are too mature for little ones and teens would be bored. The characters were borderline stereotypes and the ending was something they just stuck on to make everybody happy. With all that being said I enjoyed the movie.

    Sweet but incomplete

A charming film, beautifully photographed and special... until they gave up. The resolution was completely unsatisfying and unoriginal. It was an emotional film that, strangely, left us totally flat. Warning to parents: This could be upsetting to children. My 9-year-old was bothered by what happened to Timothy at the film's end.

    Great family friendly movie

I took my two daughters, 10 and 7, to see this movie, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Jennifer Garner did a fantastic job, once again. For those who are quite emotional, make sure you bring a tissue or two.

    Fabulous

This movie was wonderful. I think the last movie that I got into this much and was touched by was Remember The Titans. We took the whole family. We laughed, we cried, and thoroughly enjoyed it. This movie could be too raw though for anyone who has struggled with fertility issues or losing a child. Although very short, they deal with some really raw issues that are very real about couples with infertility issues and then later, stupid things people say to adoptive parents. Well done. You will love it as long as you have not experienced those issues.

The Odd Life of Timothy Green

This movie was very heartwarming. My daughter and I went to see it and we laughed and cried, and cheered. It is really a good movie for a Mom and daughter to see. I will probably buy it when it becomes available.

"Timothy Green is breathtaking, hertbreaking, and feel good all wrapped into one"

    by mrrobm

Timothy Green is a great family film. I'm 34 and my parents are in their 60's and we thoroughly enjoyed this movie through and through. It's breathtaking, heartbreaking, and feel good all wrapped into one fantastic package. CJ Adams gives an Oscar worthy performance of Timothy Green, a young boy who comes from the garden. His parents, played by Jennifer Garner & Joel Edgerton also do a fantastic job of playing his parents. The last scenes with Timothy are some of the most emotional scenes as is Timothy's last scene with Joni (Odeya Rush) the girl he's fallen in love with. I wish the film could have ended differently BUT a fantastic movie nonetheless.
