    What The??

Didn't know what to expect for an ending for this movie.. but was let down by the lack of ingenuity here. did not laugh or cry or anything during this movie.. basically a 1/2 star from me.

    GREAT MOVIE

Really enjoyed this movie...a "FEEL GOOD" movie!! Hope was brought into what seemed like a hopeless situation. It's amazing what can happen when we allow ourselves to be open and welcome in the "unexplained" things that come our way and into our lives. Would definitely recommend this movie to others.

Finally -- A Good Family Film!

Took our 10-year-old with us -- we all laughed AND cried! A good story about the fleeting blessings of life, but also how what comes and goes can set the stage for something more permanent (a good theological insight). C.J. Adams is downright charming. The film lifts you up while not being "sappy." Something for everybody.

    Sad, Fun and Inspiring

    by pedsarq

A couple that has had trouble to having a child decide to adopt. In order to convince the government officials, they tell this incredible tale of a boy who came to them after they spent a night pretending they had a child and celebrated his achievements. It's really quite depressing at times, but I felt myself uplifted regularly and have fun watching the story unfold.

    Satisfying

You know with Disney at the helm it's going to pull all the right strings. Frankly, the only thing wrong with this movie were the archetype supporting characters: the distant, macho grandfather, the clueless teacher, the driven, type-A, rigid aunt. The entire movie is really about Jim and Cindy Green's neurotic habit/need to judge themselves by triangulating against others in their lives. Isn't having a child just one more way to measure up?

But the fable is very satisfying and CJ Adams is charming and so cute you could get a cavity in the time it takes to watch this movie. Jennifer Garner is always worth watching and Joel Edgerton was understated without vanishing into the scenery behind his onscreen wife, adorable kid and - is there any character actor more reliably good? - odd uncle Bub, played by M. Emmet Walsh. Ron Livingston phones in his role as the bad guy, making me wonder if he really just needed to make a payment on the Malibu house.

Worth seeing - theater or DVD.

    Really liked this one

    by

Timothy Green is a masterfully done character, aided by excellent jobs by mom, dad and a best friend. Enjoyable story with heart-string pulls throughout, especially at the end. Such a neat story that will relate with parents who remember their experience with their first born. Kids can see this one too, but expanations may be necessary for parts - a chance for teaching life messages. Go see it, you'll enjoy.

    Nice Family Movie

    by

Nice story, dialogue was ok. The only reason why I did not rate this movie a must go was because I think they couldve made a better job with the ending.

    Good family film

I really enjoyed this film. It was different, it was clever, it was thought provoking. Although I describe it as a family film, you certainly don't need to have kids to enjoy it. My kids are grown so it was just my husband and I and we both came away with the same "glad we saw that movie" feeling.

    A Warm Moving Film.

Disney still knows how to make a warm family movie that isn't too sappy. It's about a mysterious child that learns about life while teaching society about as well. It's enjoyable for the whole family but there are some scenes that may be too depressing for children.

    Predictable

    by RixB

Way too predictable but it was cute. The actor CJ Adams (Timothy) did an amazing job as did the beautiful Odeya Rush (Joni). This pair really carried the movie for me. I love anything that Jennifer Garner is in and she didn't disappoint in this movie. This is a great movie to take young children to. My 9 year old daughter says "I don't like the way it ended."
