Wreck-It Ralph Brings Back Fond Arcade Memories
by
Wreck-It Ralph is a great animated family film about a bad guy character from a video game who wants to be a good guy. The film is an absolute hoot because it uses background characters from some of the most famous arcade games in history, including Pacman, Mortal Kombat, Q-Bert, and even House Of the Dead. The character of Wreck-It Ralph is a likable hulk who has been the bad guy in a video game for over 30 years and wants to know what it is like to be a good guy, and he achieves that through a goofy little girl character from another video game he manages to infiltrate. The whole movie is a lovable homage to arcade video games, populated by memorable characters and great comedic scenes. It is being presented in both 2D and 3D, but either version is just as entertaining as the other. I took my grandson to see it and with him being a video game fanatic, he loved the film. I would highly recommend this movie as a great holiday film to see with the entire family.
