Great Idea But Kills Not So Great

I really liked the story line but the kills were not anything to write home about. Some of the 3D effects were as dull as an old chainsaw blade.

Scary movie lived up to it's genre

If you're like me and LOVE scary movies, this one is awesome because it takes advantage of the 3D aspect. Not only does it have a story, but it has stuff coming out at you, unlike some 3D movies like Titanic to say one. This movie made me want to scream (and I could have too, since i was the only one in the theater) because of the things that popped out and how Leatherface kept showing up at very unexpected times and doing what he does best. Althought they showed a typical day int he life of Leatherface in the beginning, they spiced it up for the rest of the movie.

Totally the best 3D scary movie i've ever been to.

    No Bueno

I only saw this movie to see Trey Songz's acting debut. He did just okay but the script as a whole was terrible. The movie didn't have enough of a story line. The beginning was also weird. I almost walked out in the first 5 minutes. I would recommend seeing this movie at your nearest $1 theater in a few weeks. We also laughed more than anything so if you want a real horror flick don't see it. The 3d effect was also low. I gues it's just another way to raise the price.

Texas Chainsaw 3D. I was honestly expecting more gore...but truly this was more about a story than anything else. Heather, the cousin of our beloved Leatherface found her true family and feels for him and understands whats going on in his head. I truly hope there is another one showing their relationship. Fantastic movie. A MUST BUY when it comes out on DVD/Blu-Ray.

    less 3D disappointed

    by

I was really disappointed because this movie suppose to have 3D all the way, it was less 3D than I expected. Kinda went boring, It suppose to scare me like the other Chainsaw massacre I've seen. so far this movie really wasn't that good

    No, no, no.

If you can get passed the terrible acting, you might find the story line at least a little interesting. Of course, since it's a horror film, there has to be the pointless flusey female character that contributes absolutely nothing to the story line. If this movie were to come out in the 80s, then maybe it would've gotten better reviews. But the bar for horror films is a bit higher these days and this movie made a pathetic and failed attempt to reach that bar. They should've dropped this concept after Jessica Biel's version. I actually enjoyed that one. There was no time for character development, just a bunch of screaming. Please save your money.

Terrific 3D visuals and a ridiculous last half hour make for a not bad TC3D.

I wasn't expecting much going into the film, but the prologue was quite striking with it's 3D transfer of highlights from the 1974 original (sometimes I thought I was looking at original footage, sometimes modern reenactments--I wasn't really sure). There's an hour of pretty gory, lifeless storytelling about four people travelling to Newt, Texas to reclaim the legacy of the heroine, but the last hour is the stuff of cult movie legend. Some opportunities for spectacular 3D effects are missed, but overall, the 3D is pretty good and worth the extra cash. Overall, it's an inconsistent film of highs and lows: at it's worst, it's mind-numbingly dull; at it's best it's very everything you want from a horror film.

    Waste of my time

To many inconsistencies, like who was that dead woman in the house? What happened to the cop son at the end of movie? And why was that creep killer a victim? Movie all over the place.....hated it

DONT GO SEE IT! I walked out its def. not worth the $

    Seriously?

I'm a HUGE horror fan who likes all types of movies in the genre. But seriously, come on! Anyone who liked this is just ridiculous. I don't get how it beat out movies like Django (which is AMAZEBALLS by the way). The fact that it made that much money to prompt the studio to think about a sequel is laughable. Awful plot, awful acting, the 3D was not at all impressive. I think there was one or two times it looked like the chainsaw was coming at your face, but that's it. Without ruining it, they totally forgot about a character at the end. Never said what happened to the character, and not in an on purpose sort of way either. Please save your money, this movie is just plain awful. Everyone said this was so gory too. Did I see the wrong movie? There was more blood in the other reboots of the film, and realistic looking blood at that. There wasn't any sort of torture like in the other versions either. Not scary or gory at all!

    Fun and Entertaining

Of course this movie has its share of problems but it brings back Leatherface to the big screen, offers a continuation of the original TCM story, has good kills, gore, hot women and a lot of LOL moments. This was a great ride, I give it an 8/10

I loved this movie and I loved how they kept it to the original story. This was the first time I used Fandango on my smart phone. I will be using this app every time I go to the movies from now on.
