    Bourne sponsored by big pharma

    by JAG1981

I was extremely disappointed by the latest in the Bourne series! While Jeremy Renner and the rest of the crew gamely do their best to live up to the expectations created by the previous movies they fail largely due to the pathetic nature of the writing. Tony Gilroy proves with both his script and his directing that he is completely incompetent without an accomplished series of handholders there to bail him out. When Matt Damon claimed that Gilroy's script for "Ultimatum" was so so horrible if it was seen it would end his career some mistook it as Damon being overly hostile to the new crew but after watching Legacy I whole heartedly believe him. The plot was ridiculous even for an action movie and spent utterly too much time focused on explaining the background and not getting into actual storytelling. More importantly for an action movie their is pitifully little action instead Gilroy focuses his time giving long scenes that show the "bad guys" plotting their moves. Fire Gilroy now!!

    Same as the Old Song

First of all, I liked the movie. Having said that, if you saw the first 3 then this one will be no different. Same plot.....rogue agent can't be apprehended by CIA officials, so they send a super-assasin to take care of Bourne, I mean Renner. A big chase ensues, and somehow they kill the assasin and get away.
I can;t blame the producers, though, if you have a winning formula, people will pay to see it.
Renner is very beleivable, and likable as Bourne's replacement ( I can't think of his on air name).

    The Bourne Legacy

Good action, good premise, fast paced, but not overly impressed. Didn't miss Matt Damon as the lead - 3 times was enough. It was overall pretty predictable. The chase at the end was overdone and overlong. Kinda reminds me of a modern-day Steven Segal (sp?). Anyway, it had Bourne in the title, so I had to see it. Been there, seen it, won't rent it on DVD.

lots of chases and explosions but no plot

    by heybow

The other Bourne movies had a thin plot, this time they eliminated that problem There is absolutly no plot! Why is he in Alaska, why are they trying to kill him, why does the scientist go beserk? Why does it end like it does? The acting is good, Rachel Weiss is good in anything, and the scenery is nice, but I am still trying to figure out a plot?? Lots of good special effects, so if you like car chases and explosions you will enjoy, but watch carefully to see if you can find a plot?

    Enjoyed the movie.

I enjoyed the movie and if you are familiar with the previous Bourne movies or l like have read the books you should it too. It does start slow but then really takes off with lots of action. Go and enjoy it.

Great movie in a good series

Movie fit in the series well. I feel te story is about the other operational functions and agents that fit in the jigsaw puzzle of the Bourne series and presented a different perspective. Enjoyed the high intensity Jeremy Renner brought to the screen and liked the girl next door look and feel of Rachal Weiz.

Always like a Good vs Bad movie.

    not a Bourne

    by jack749

It may carry the Bourne name but it doesn't carry the weight. It's nothing more than a set up for two more episodes. Money should be the secondary motivation for moving making. It had a lot of unfulfilled potential. In the other Bourne movies the characters were well developed. That doesn't happen here. If you like a farcely designed chase scene then you get your money's worth.

    Eh...

    by glyphh

I'm a fan of the Bourne series. This had a similar feel. I thought the acting was good. The story was very lacking though. Overall it felt a bit shallow and insufficient to bear the 'Bourne' title. If they make a second/fifth movie, I will likely see it mostly out of hope they do a better job.

This is rated a GO mostly because it's entertaining, has good acting, and you'll need the knowledge for the next movie.

    The Bourne Legacy

    by wohl62

Although my wife and I, overall, enjoyed it, it was extremely difficult to "pull it all together". The plot eventually worked itself out with retrospectives but, from the beginning, one had to do more than "just watch a movie"; you almost had to write the direction. The chase scenes were excellent but, mostly, overdone. Finally, the ending appeared to have been a "take-off" on a James Bond (or should I say, Ian Fleming) ending.

    Needed a better story.

I'm not a fan of the Bourne series, but I do like Jeremy Remmer. While he and past of the cast were good, this movie really wasn't. Too talky, with too much neo-medical terminology (the Trekspeak of a bourne movie), the story feels disjointed and the ending is far too pat and anti-climactic. Wait for DVD.

    It's "okay."

The action sequences are great, I just wish there was more of them. The story ties in well to the other Bourne movies, but the ending leaves you wondering what happens next. Definitely leads to a sequel. I would catch a matinee, or wait until it comes out on On-Demand/Red Box.

    So So

Good action like previous Bourne movies. I liked the actors. Plot was so-so. Tried to incorporate the previous Bourne movies in the plot but it didn't fit quite right. The ending was poor and that is what the movie goers all noted as we were leaving. I was really anticipating this movie but was disappointed.

    Not very good

Didnt have a story line really. Was lacking a true finish too. Seemed like they recycled a fraction of the plot from previous Bourne movies and ran with it.

    It is a pop fly

    by Raelzan

This movie was a pop fly in the bottom of the 9th inning with the bases loaded. The thing that will make it a hit that scores in the future is its sequel(s) and there had better be a sequel or this movie is a definite OUT. I loved the acting but it was a bit SLOW to start and you almost lost me ZZZ!!! In that first hour just setting things up; action/storyline... The sequel will be that runner on 3rd making it home and the infielder misses that catch that allows the movie to score... This is a 3 ½ star movie... One thing more don't kill off Rachel Weisz in the sequels, she is the star that makes this film click need I said say more than mentioning the bomb of the final Mummy without her CRASH N BURN!!!

So this is a good not great start to the next phase in the Bourne franchise....

    An average action movie

I'm a huge fan of the bourne series and was super excited when this movie came out. By the end of the movie i thought to myself that i should've just waited until this silly action flick comes out on cable TV. The story was lame, action scenes were lame, and the boring car chase was just toooo damn loooooong ughghghgh

Save your money and go watch something else.
