    Too Much Backstory

    by ecfl

Half the movie is spent listening to CIA officers explain what's going on and tieing it back to Bourne, and observing the training of the new subject. Confusing and boring.

    Mostly excellent

    by

Jeremy Renner had large expectations to live up to, and he did a very good job. Strong support from Rachel Weisz as well. The movie is set concurrent to events in The Bourne Supremacy, so it might no make total sense if you haven't seen the other three films first.

There was one part that was a little hard to follow if you aren't paying attention, but overal, it was a solid, slick, smart movie with very few questions unanswered. I'd be pleased to see Renner make another Bourne movie if they can keep the story tight.

Bourne Legacy or Bourne get on with it already...

Movie as good, but trailers were more exciting than the movie itself. Ya, it explained more about the Bourne series, but come on already. Movie was good, but could have been better. Go if you are into super agent gets normal.

Not a Movie, a First Episode

This isn't really a fully self-contained movie. It's the first episode of something clearly designed to keep going for a long time. I left the theater thinking "I know what I'm going to be doing every 12 to 18 months for quite a long while".

The story and acting are decent, but the movie ends abruptly at the end of what seems like the prolog of a much, much longer story. It's not a good closure and the story is clearly just gearing up. Nothing at all is resolved. Maybe this is designed to be a trilogy - but much more likely it is designed to go on far longer than that.

Over all, intriguing but with too many unexplained bits, references to other things, other plot lines touched on but either not resolved or not even fully explored. The chase scene is too long and doesn't resolve anything. And then >-* Poof *-This isn't really a fully self-contained movie. Very Disappointing

I loved all the previous Bourne movies, but this one left me very disappointed as I walked out of the theater. I think Jeremy Renner is an amazing actor, but whoever directed this movie ruined it. Several scenes where way too drawn out and made no sense, to the point of......"I was thinking to myself, is this really happening?" I mean come on now, this is a Bourne movie and I'm thinking in my head, how could it really be this stupid and senseless. But it was! Most of you will have to just go and see it for yourself, but I assure you......everyone on here that has said "GO" or "Must GO" are sorely mistaken. It was a disappointment.

    Disapointment

    by

Despite the Fact that Matt Damon doesn't return as the famous Jason Bourne, The Bourne Legacy just makes the series look dumb. It has a great cast don't get me wrong but the film is a waste. Not really action, it's more drama and very confusing plot.

    Legacy is very... "eh"

    by

I decided to watch the trilogy right before going to the midnight premiere of Legacy. I saw it and it was a bit disappointing. Disappointing in the sense that the movie began, hit the climax and then cut off. Everything that was supposed to happen happened and there was no resolution. It was so obvious that the ending was rushed and it makes way for a part 2. Lots of storytelling with very little suspense or thrill. Tons of politics, too. In short, it lacked the edge of your seat action that the trilogy gave you, when it seemed to pick up, that was it. I'll give it a so-so because it leaves tons of room for improvement. Brilliant storytelling, but way too rushed. Jeremy Renner did a good job.

    Great action...lacking much story.

I did enjoy the movie but if I think back to see how much dialog there actually was I am sure I would be shocked. It was an interesting take on the other movies but I don't really understand the title and how it relates to the actual storyline. I will be interested to see the next since I am sure there will be another one.

    Utter Disappointment

    by astew04

I thought this was the most depressing continuation of the Bourne trilogy. The action scene...wait...what action scene?? I wasn't impressed by the plot and it honestly felt like it was a separate movie in and of itself. The other Bourne movies were actual sequals, but this movie didn't flow with the others. No wonder why Matt Damon didn't return. Sure, they say it was because of the dinero, but it was probably because he saw this weak script and decided to pass.

Great movie in a good series

Movie fit in the series well. I feel te story is about the other operational functions and agents that fit in the jigsaw puzzle of the Bourne series and presented a different perspective. Enjoyed the high intensity Jeremy Renner brought to the screen and liked the girl next door look and feel of Rachal Weiz.

Always like a Good vs Bad movie.

    The Bourne Legacy

    by tomblu

Extremely well done. Follows in the path of the previous Bourne films. Takes a little of the start of the film to catch up on what is happening and then evolves into how it connects with the previous films. The only setback is that "it doesn't end". When is the next? If you are a fan of the Bourne movis then I rate it a "Must Go"

    The Bourne Legacy

    by RGshow

This one is my favorite so far...I say so far, because we could have a lot of different characters coming out of the wood work so to speak and all the while getting a better understanding of Treadstone ect...for many years to come.
    Loved it.

    Worthy of the series

It was a bit more on the story and drama side than it's predecessors. This meant that there was less "Bourne" action. This did not take away from the movie. For me, this made it more believable.

The main character's fight scenes were great, and I don't remember ever thinking "that was so unrealistic". And needing to take multiple shots in the beginning of the movie at a certain target, only added more realism.

The love interest wasn't a real "love story", it was a great buildup for one though. And I found myself enjoying the process/story.

The main character has a kind of realist's perspective on things; which lead to some great relief moments. I actually felt more connected to the main character because of it.

It's not the same as the first three, but it was definitely a worthy sequel of the Bourne movies.

Maybe the best of the Bourne Movies

The Bourne Legacy may be the best of the Bourne Movies. Matt Damon was excellent as Jason Bourne. Jeremy Renner may, if anything, be even better in his role. Matt Damon was sort of John Wayne to Jeremy Renner?s, Paul Newman. But Jeremy Renner has the acting support of two fantastic actors, Rachel Weisz, looking as gorgeous as ever, playing a bio-scientist and Edward Norton as the government?s clean up man for projects gone wrong. Both Weisz and Norton are as convincing in their roles as Renner. The chemistry between Renner and Weisz is great and it develops in a way that is totally believable. There is no need for old hat sex scenes. It?s actually more fun watching them become a thing as they pass through the caldron of hell together. And then there is Oscar Isaac who plays the role of the other bio-enhanced soldier with Bourne in the opening. It seems clear to me that Isaac is going to be a player in future movies.
