    The Bourne Legacy

Really liked how the film connected to The Bourne Ultimatum. I thought Jeremy Renner did a very good job in the lead role as another trainee in the same program as Bourne (Matt Damon). There's no Damon in this film, but it captures the frenetic feeling of those earlier films, without the ever-present shaky camera.

A good, clean, and exciting movie to see.

A good, clean, and exciting movie to see. Clean being the rarity now a days. No practically naked women or constant profanity. Men come out with no tops but not naked either. A good husband and wife type of movie. Nice effects without the being too unrealistic. I enjoyed it enough with my wife to be able to say that I would go again to see it. It seems like a good in-between movie for the next Bourne.

    The Bourne Legacy

The story line was excellant and definately gave us a whole new interesting perspective to the series. However, the fast pace of the scenes and camera movements were hard on the eyes. Things moved way too fast and much is missed because of this. The ending definately left you wanting the next one in the series soon.

    The Bourne Legacy

Of course Bourne wasn't the only operative...we knew that from all the other guys trying to kill him! But now we get to see the beginning of the process, sort of. Lots of action, lots of put-your-sense-of-disbelief-in-your-pocket fighting, some emotional connection, and as we've come to expect by now, the government gets it completely wrong. The timing of this one can make it confusing, because it intercuts some scenes from the original trilogy. Seeing the previous movies isn't imperative, but would be helpful, especially the last two movies. Jeremy Renner is a good substitute for Matt Damon, though not as pretty to look at. Some of the science stuff sounds fishy to me, but then again, I actually work at a lab bench, so I could be a little biased. Fun action-thriller.

    it was ok..

I thought it was ok... I was kinda lost ... but I couldnt tell that lead actor (Aaron Cross) was an enhanced human and neither the participants of the program.

It would have been nice to see some romance or sex. Boobs. Or bare man chests. hehe.

    Fell short

The Bourne Legacy fell short of my expectations. Unfortunately I didn't have high expectations to begin with. Many of the characters in this Bourne(less) movie are new to the series so the small bits of back-story provided by the occasional flashbacks are the only character development you will find. I didn't really find anything likable about the lead characters aside from them being the "good guys." Renner's performance was a little dry. Any emotions he portrayed just seemed forced. The story line was choppy. It felt like certain elements where just tossed in as needed without any buildup or foreshadowing. The action scenes where good. Fighting, shooting, explosions and car chases, that was all there.

So if are looking for a suspenseful movie to make you think and keep you guessing, you may want to pass on this one.

On the other hand if your looking for lots of action and a story that wont leave you lost when you have to make a quick pit stop, you'll probable enjoy this one.

Personal Opinion Review of The Bourne Legacy

    by norreim

I absolutely enjoyed this movie... all three times, and there's no need to even try and compare this movie to the Bourne Trilogy with Matt Damon. Director Tony Gilroy did an excellent job; and Jeremy Renner, Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, and all the others demonstrated their individual talents as superb actors. Overall acting, action, cinematography, directing, and music all came together for a good story, action-packed entertaining movie (with a pleasantly surprising ending.) Even "Extreme Ways" by Moby returned for the end of the movie song . Anxiously waiting for DVD release.

    Why Did They Bother?

Grade C. Very thin plot that was not terribly convincing or compelling. The actors were fine given what they had to work with, Lots of action, But why did they bother?

    The Bourne Legacy

I saw the movie because I am a "Bourne Trilogy" fan. If someone was watching for the first time, they would be lost in the beginning. Fans of the Bourne series such as myself were "wired" into the movie. The Legacy depicts how the agents acquired their special abilities. In the last Bourne movie, Jason is seen floating the water left for dead and is later picked up by a fishing trawler boat and the doctor finds his tracker device and suddenly Jason is awake and have the doctor in a choker hold. Legacy opens with the body in water scene and moves with a fast pace from then on. The thrills and actions were highly intensive. (thanks for not putting in so much visual blood and gut type stuff, that would not be good for kids to watch). The original actors from the "Bourne Trilogy's" seemed to be a little stiff from my point of view. The Aaron (character) is and actor to watch out for. Perfect for the Legacy. Would have been good to see it as "Father to Son Bourne Legacy." What's next?

Wait For Blu-Ray or Dollar Theatre

Very disappointing. This first hour and fifteen minutes sets up the new plot, and the last hour is the movie. They should have charged half price, and I would have rated a little higher.

Jeremy Renner is no Matt Damon. Not a convincing performance. Oscar Isaac was a bright light at the start, but went away much too soon. The chase scene was my favorite, but not on par with previous Bourne installments.

Considering the credits, this should have been much bettter. I won't go to the next one, but I doubt there will be one...

    Eh...

    by TxMyke

This movie was like a hot woman who leaves you saying what the Heck? IT looked good seemed like it was just as good as the others but it left you with...is that it? Renner is a good actor and I like his movies but this movie was probably made in the hopes of making money off of what it was. Maybe they are trying for a Bond theme but this movie just didn't live up to the other Bourne movies.

    Great Act to Follow

    by

I'm sure most everyone seeing this is going because of Matt Damon's "Jason Bourne". While there are a few references to him, I find that it was hard to follow (the act, not the story). It was a great plot and storyline (thanks to Robert Ludlum), but I think the Jason Bourne trilogy had a stronger sense of grounding.

The action I felt wasn't as constant as what was seen in the first series of movies, but when it did happen, it was nothing short of what Bourne defined. Great chases and hand-to-hand combat as usual.

If you recall the Bourne Trilogy and/or have recently watched them, this is a great movie to see, but if you're not familiar with what has happened in the past, it might leave you confused with some of the story that is filtered throughout this movie.

Total Disappointment and a waste of Money

Huge fan of the first 3 movies, but this honestly was a waste of money. The directors should have put their differences aside and kept Matt Damon, this movie was not worth seeing. Acting was so-so, a lot of slow parts, not enough action or good fight scenes to even come close to rival the first 3.

    Great addition to the Series!

The Bourne Legacy is a superb addition to the Bourne films! The action is paced just right and the story is one to keep you interested through out the film.

Intellectual, not fast paced, but excellent!

    by Schpink

I loved this movie. Yes, the beginning doesn't have much action, but it's smart. It's not a remake of the other Bourne movies, which I also loved. They pull you in bit by bit, and then it's wild ride. There's plenty of action to go around.

Jeremy Renner is SO compelling in the last half of this movie that you're totally in love with him by the end.
