Here Comes the Boom

This is a "feel good" comedy and I'd highly recommend it. I took a few hours from work to go and see it with my 9-year old son. I do not normally allow him to watch those fighting sport type of deals. I do not like them. However, I do like Kevin James and love the story line about the commitment of teachers to students. You will certainly have a few tears you fight back. I would also recommend a group of teachers to and see this movie together. It is a tribute to the true passion and commitment teachers have to programs, each other and their students and families.

Boom is the bomb!

When a totally demoralized 42-year-old Biology teacher decides to make his own decision instead of continuing to be a victim of the system, he accomplishes his goal to save his friend's job. Kevin James manages to insert enough humor to keep a rather serious tale light enough for most any audience. He plays the part of the Biology teacher, which is funny in its own right, who goes mixed martial arts, MMA. Some may say this movie is violent, but it is no more violent and no less funny than "Paul Blart Mall Cop". Every grandparent should take every grandchild to see this film where people make their own decisions, think for themselves, and accept the consequences. Boom is a rare movie.

Good All-Around Show

If you like Kevin, its a great show and if you can take him or leave him, you'll still like this movie. Funny as always and enjoyable.

Family Friendly, Inspiring and Funny

We took our 12 year old son to see this movie tonight. Not only was it completely age appropriate but it was just as enjoyable for my husband and me as it was for him. Great movie and a must see! So thankful for the lack of nudity and foul language common in so many films these days. It's hard to find movies, other than cartoons, that are appropriate for tweens/young teens but this is an amazing option!

See this movie!

This is a really great movie, full of good life lessons. It is a bit tense with all the fighting but our 11 and 14 yr olds loved it and so did we.

Great father and son movie!!

Hilarious clean movie. In the line of "school of rock" for likability. I really enjoyed it and my 11 y/o son could not stop laughing even after the movie was over. Great movie for the family to enjoy. It is amazing the disconect between the "critics" and "the real people". I can see that over 5,000 regular reviewers scored it a "must go". There a reason for it. My son is taking my wife (not a fan of martial arts) to the movie again.

This is a fantastic surprise!

I hadn't heard a lot about this movie which is too bad because parents are always looking for a clean, fun movie....this one has something for everyone! My 17 year old even enjoyed this one. I thought this movie had an uplifting story that could appeal and inspire everyone, it sends a message that we all need a little more of these days: when you see someone or a community that needs help....step in and do whatever you can to make things better!

good family fun

Actually went to see this "on accident" had planed on seeing "Flight" with my wife and purchased tickets online. Then I read the reviews and knew my wife would not be interested. We swaped out the tickets for BOOM as it was starting about the same time. It was a good movie. It is a shame that only movies with lots of bad language and sex get good reviews from the pros. No this movie is not "Citizen Cain", but it good clean fun, reasonably funny with a good message. You can take kids of most ages as long as they won't be scared by the fighting.

BEST MOVIE EVER

I just got back from the theater and oh my god, That move was AMAZING!! My best friend and I were so into it and were laughing the whole time. You just cant help but get into it! GO SEE THIS AMAZING MOVIE!!!! This movie is for all ages!

insiting and funny - great combo

This is a great movie that touches on the latest issues of budget cuts and general apathy in the population

it tells us that we - each one of us - CAN make a difference if we just Try - and that it isn't the goal the only thing that matters, but the mere fact of trying - really trying - that makes the difference.

I loved it. We laughed out loud over and over again. I wanted to see it again with my husband but it is no longer running. I plan to buy it. We all need a laugh these days and this fits the bill.

Kevin James is in it? I'm in.

While Kevin James probably has a terrible track record with critics, his movies are pure embodiments of enjoyment. "Here Comes the Boom" starts a tad slow and has you, or it did me, shedding some water weight through your tear ducts at the end. This was one of the more uplifting films that really makes you feel good about things that one person can do. It's not especially well-made, but the characters are the important part and they nail it. James is his usual hilarious self, Henry Winkler continues his revival since being reawakened in "Arrested Development," and Salma Hayek, well, aside from being absolutely beautiful, she puts in a good performance as a spiritually-revived school nurse. There are others that fill in the cracks as well as cameos that MMA enthusiasts will enjoy. At the end of the movie I felt like I was watching Rocky with how invested I was in the fight and I loved it. You will leave this movie glad to have spent the money.

Great Movie

Must go for sure. Me and my wife didn?t want to see it , but there was nothing to watch so we took a chance and it was worth it. Great funny movie, with nice action. (Critics have no life)

Good enough to drop $20 on a ticket and refreshments

Funny with a few more good moments than the trailers give away. Predictable but entertaining nonetheless. Sometimes wish I had rented a movie from Redbox instead of wasting $20 on a ticket and refreshments, but this one I enjoyed seeing on the big screen.

Thru the ceiling...excellent funny clean feel good movie with lots of action too!! Highly recommend, KJ is excellent, as is Selma (and easy on the eyes too) and Henry Winkler. I would give it a 9 out of 10!!!
