Boom is the bomb!

When a totally demoralized 42-year-old Biology teacher decides to make his own decision instead of continuing to be a victim of the system, he accomplishes his goal to save his friend's job. Kevin James manages to insert enough humor to keep a rather serious tale light enough for most any audience. He plays the part of the Biology teacher, which is funny in its own right, who goes mixed martial arts, MMA. Some may say this movie is violent, but it is no more violent and no less funny than "Paul Blart Mall Cop". Every grandparent should take every grandchild to see this film where people make their own decisions, think for themselves, and accept the consequences. Boom is a rare movie.

good message - clean - not as funny as I thought

The movie is has a good message but lacks in the funny category. Definitely a movie to take the boys (kids) too. The ladies really didn't enjoy the movie too much but I'd wait until the DVD and save your money. We laughed maybe 4 times throughout the film.

A GOOD good movie!

You know how when someone tries to fill the good family movie genre how the movie can kind of turn out Cheesy ro lame. "here comes the BOOM" isn't that movie. This season the other movies we've been to are flight..(walked out in the first 5 minutes) and "skyfall 007" which by the end of the movie you just kindof said... Huh!
"Here comes the Boom" was a good GOOD movie. It's great for the whole family. some parts were predictable, but not disappointing. I love the characters... great moral to the story and is definitely going to be added to our home collection.

Kevin James is brilliant

Kevin James never disappoints. His clean, self effacing humor is so refreshing in today's world of vulgarity and "f" bombs. This movie is suited for everyone in the family. Henry Winkler is so classic as the music teacher, so anti-fonzie. You shouldn't miss this movie!

Kevin James is Hair-larious!

We also liked the wrestler, Niko who trained Scott Boss (James). He also carried the movie! It was a funny movie that I shared with my 11-year old grandson. We both laughed hard throughout the movie.

The Must See Movie of the Year!

Once again Kevin James proves his comedic genius with the film, "Here Comes the Boom." The film overall was a laughing fest from beginning to end and didn't stop until the final credits rolled. Kevin James plays a former wrestler turned teacher who finds himself in a political joust between the schools hard lined principle who threatens to undercut the schools music elective. In an effort to save the class, his character decides to enter the dog eat dog realm of professional MMA. His character manages to climb the ranks after a tumultuous start with a few bruises and a dislocated shoulder. It's definitely a movie that packs a punch in terms of the laughing factor while weaving a moral tale that anything is possible.

Definitely brought the Boom

I went to this movie with my husband, and I like Kevin James, but MMA and Movies didn't really mix in my head. It didn't take me very long to change my mind as the main characters are just so awesomely lovable and hilarious. I do not want to give any of this movie away, I think it's just something you need to go see and enjoy for yourself. Even though it wasn't my pick for movie night, I felt like I was enjoying this movie more than my husband was. He loved it just as much as I did, though. Definitely a must go!

Funny

I went to see this because I like Kevin James and Selma is HOT. So I expected to enjoy the movie but when I left the movie i was surprised. This was a nice & funny movie that I would take my kids to see and with a good message about what is missing in our school system today and also not to give up when things get tough. Go see it!

Not Just an MMA Movie

Considering this was Happy Madison I wasn't expecting much. However, I was very entertained. It was as much an underdog/sacrifice story as it was a commentary on modern education. Well done by Kevin James.

Feel-good sports movie

Okay, so this movie is entertaining for the most part because the characters (and actors) are easy to like. Kevin James plays a good guy who masquerades as a tough guy in the job of a biology teacher. For example, he drives a matte black Triumph motorcycle to work with a leather jacket and a 50s style helmet. He's also good friends with a music teacher, played by Henry Winkler (yes, The Fonz), who is about to get laid off because the school doesn't have the money to continue to support the music program. James's character gets the idea to become a UFC fighter to make enough money to save his friends job. Let the pummeling begin!

here comes the boom

I loved this movie! I went by myself to see it because my poopie family wouldn't go. Their loss. I am a huge Kevin James fan. His agility in some of the stunts he does always amazes me for a bigger guy. He looks so good with his new slimmer self. It looked to me that he had to learn a few skills for this film. I will admit I had to look away during some of the fighting scenes. Loved the messages most of all. Please go see this movie, even if you have to go solo!

If you have anything to say bad about this movie! Well you must be the nose in the air holier then thou hollywood types! Not a huge Kevin James fan, but he was great as was the rest of the cast!

The Boom inspiration!

So I watch a ton of movies and I've for the most part like Kevin's acting and comical roles. He's a normal guy that has normal guy challenges, which makes me like him even more. However, there this movie although some what funny didn't have the "hold your gut" laughter that I was hoping for, not saying that there wasn't funny parts. They were just so so ! I laughed, but didn't laugh. Henry was good, but I go way back to the Fonz days so I always like seeing him in movies. I think my kids will enjoy it ... oh yeah that's right I took them with me and they really liked it. Enough to ask me to buy it for our collection... we have a HUGE collection.
