    Good Flick

Generally I refuse to pay what they are asking for a movie without special effects or great cinematic value. Broke that "rule" for Boom to take my son and glad I did. Granted it's not a deep plot by any stretch of the imagination, but if you need a good clean movie to get away from it all for a couple hours it's worth the trip to your area theater.

good goofy movie with pro-american hint (for a change)

    by obbo

went to see with my kids (10-12), simple story, so-so execution but good message for the kids. No US bashing - already plus. I would not take smaller than 9 y to watch it due to some heavy fighting scene from MMA and UFC.

I took my three boys ages ranging 6-13 and they all came out of there so pumped and elated! That to me means this movie is one worth my money. :)

    Giving it a fighting chance

While this movie won't have you falling over from laughter all the way through, it has its moments. A feel good movie that's appropriate for all ages with a great ending and a surprisingly good music score. It follows in some traditional comedy plot devices, but the overall message is great for kids and adults who might have forgotten just how much school impacts and shapes our kids. It's a better movie than most I've watched recently.

    Here comes a Great Story

It was wonderful to see Kevin James as a mature actor, in this story. His low key approach in the movie brought a cinematic reality to the story. I thought the story could have kicked Winkler around more as the aging (pick a type) character. He never ceases to be annoying. And James' character did a great job not to become the bully he needed to be to overcome Winkler and accomplish his goal. To nail the Salma Hyak Character. The kids loved the movie from beginning to end. We cheered, laughed, applauded, through out the film. And something very rare happened. We felt GREAT after seeing it. Usually after the cartoon movies or super hero movies I check the kids reaction to what they just watched. They usually have no interest in talking about what they just saw. But this movie had them talking and laughing, all the way home. They especially like the throw up scene. This really is an all time Great film.

    Great Fun Movie

This was just what we needed to see after a hard ten days of life. Fun, predicable, but thoroughly enjoyable movie. The Boom is sweet natured, a bit too violent, but a laugh-out-loud, constantly movie, perfect escapist entertainment. Kevin is a fabulous physical comic and the Fonz a perfect sidekick.

    Funny

    by cmelo11

I went to see this because I like Kevin James and Selma is HOT. So I expected to enjoy the movie but when I left the movie i was surprised. This was a nice & funny movie that I would take my kids to see and with a good message about what is missing in our school system today and also not to give up when things get tough. Go see it!

    Here Comes The Boom

This movie is a "must see"! Kevin James was amazing! Changing "attitudes" in such a smooth way and gives the audience the momentum for an "expected" ending but in an "unexpected" direction. The screenplay was well written and kudos to Henry Winkler for the quirky but lovable music teacher. A definite keeper! The fellow who played Nikko was also terrific in the role. For the entire family (except really little kids...age 7 and below...the fighting is a little graphic).

Kevin James is in it? I'm in.

    by

While Kevin James probably has a terrible track record with critics, his movies are pure embodiments of enjoyment. "Here Comes the Boom" starts a tad slow and has you, or it did me, shedding some water weight through your tear ducts at the end. This was one of the more uplifting films that really makes you feel good about things that one person can do. It's not especially well-made, but the characters are the important part and they nail it. James is his usual hilarious self, Henry Winkler continues his revival since being reawakened in "Arrested Development," and Salma Hayek, well, aside from being absolutely beautiful, she puts in a good performance as a spiritually-revived school nurse. There are others that fill in the cracks as well as cameos that MMA enthusiasts will enjoy. At the end of the movie I felt like I was watching Rocky with how invested I was in the fight and I loved it. You will leave this movie glad to have spent the money.

Liked the film - would bring older grandkids to it

    by Hatch7

It has been months since I went to a movie. I went under protest with my wife. I was not sure about how MMA or UFC would work with the PG rating (too many Van Dammes movies). However, the mix of MMA/UFC fights did not detract from the movie.

I was LOL from the beginning of the movie. The whole audience was also laughing with me. They were a mix of families, younger couples and baby-boomers like me.

The chemistry between all the characters contributed to my enjoying the movie and made the film's story line believable. I particularly enjoyed watching the interactions between Kevin James and Henry Winkler (always will be the Fonz for me). The message of funding extracurricular activities like music impact on kids came through.

I would take my older grandkids to this movie (8+).

    Fun movie!

I took my 12 year old son and we had a great time...it's a funny & inspiring movie. Probably won't win any awards but still a fun night out.

    Go see it!

    by mcmom1

This was a funny and inspiring movie. I love Kevin James and he was perfect for this part. My husband and 15 year old girl and 12 year old boy all wanted to go see Taken 2, but I already had the tickets for this. They all went in reluctantly, but came out happy to have seen it. They all laughed out loud in several parts. It was a lot of fun.
