    Guilt Trip

Awh! This is a mood movie for those who are close to their mother and mother's who want to spend more tme with their child(ren) when the child is grown and really doesn't interact much. It will make you smile a bit and touch your heart when you see how each sacrificed for the other. All I can say is kisses!

    Streisand Comedy Redux

Very under-rated comedic actress, and with Seth Rogen as the much-browbeaten only son, Streisand shines.

Quite funny, with some squirmy mother-son revelatory moments that made a man of fifty-plus blush with embarrassment.

    I Relate

After a slow start the movie takes off... triggering smiles and outright laughter. Excellent script, great performances. But as a mother of two grown single sons who live far away, I must admit that much of the joy of this movie for me was that I "related" so much to the story. My daughter easily communicates her love for me, but over the years it as been different with my unmarried sons. This movie is a wry take on the complex communication problems between mothers and sons. While it is fun for everyone, it resonates particularly for single mothers who have reared an independent, loving, but sometimes confounding son.

My advice to anyone interested in "grown-up" movies that touch your heart and your funny bone: Don't miss "The Guilt Trip."

    The Guilt Trip

This is a pleasant movie. It will make you smile a lot, not guffaw, and you'll leave the theater in a good mood. Not a bad way to spend time at the movies.

    Yay for Barbra!

I absolutely love Barbra Streisand, and I have seen every one of her movies.

This was so very enjoyable, and believable ~ she makes a wonderful Mother :) And Seth Rogen fit amazingly well as her son.

This movie was very touching in parts and also hilarious in parts, as it explored the dimensions of the Mother-Son relationship.

Barbra is always fantastic and beautiful, and she still looks great! Thank you for bringing her back to the movies!

    "Guilt" Pleasure

I enjoyed THE GUILT TRIP a lot. It is a very sweet film. Don't let the trailers fool you into believing it's a raucous FOCKERS-like comedy. There's no dirty jokes or special effects or explosions in The Guilt Trip?just some great Streisand/Rogen chemistry ... and a big heart.

It's a small movie about a mother and a son.

And what a pleasure to see Barbra back on the big screen! As Joyce, she hits all the right notes. Barbra is so relaxed and natural in the movie. Rogen plays "embarrassed son" well, and his character does some growing up over the coarse of the movie.

Bring your mom, a date, or a friend. The end is touching and might bring a tear to your eye.

A Funny comedy that is great to watch anytime

I was looking foward to this movie ever since I saw the trailer at Taken 2, but I wasn't excepting this at all. A perfect mother/son movie that will make everyone in the theater, if there wasn't just 4 people in the audience including me and my mom.Seth Rogen tries his best with his character and for PG-13 rated humor but also fails half the time with his jokes. Barbra Striesand is the movies big star and will always be a great comedy to me. Don't be fooled by the trailers great sense of hilarity because it also has some dramatic parts. All and all a great comedy that will be great for anyone over the age of 12. See it or buy it on DVD

    Not bad for a Chick-Flick

    by djk01

Pretty good movie to pass a rainy afternoon with your girl. Didn't like the sound in the theatre (AMC) - way too loud, and at times, painful (Sony Digital Sound).

The Guilt Trip is guilty of trying to be a comedy

    by ebng448

The best laughs were in the TV advertisements. Barbra Steisand is excellent as the neurotic Mother. Seth Rogen is good at being the continuously anxious, socially uncomfortable and unaware son who is trying to pitch a product with no idea how to accomplish his goal. Interesting trip across country with some expected outcomes. Not what I would recommend for a good set of laughs, more moments of anxiousness watching people stumble round each other. Would wait till on pay per view of NetFlix

    The Guilt Trip

I thought this movie was a big snore. The writing wasn't clever and the story was unbelievable. The actors didn't have a chance. As Shakespeare said it was, "Much Ado About Nothing".

    Sooo silly

This movie was one of the worst I've seen in years. Don't waste your time. The only funny lines (of which there were few) were all shown in the coming attractions.

    I Feel Guilty

This movie was a "guilt trip" to me as well. It is so boooooooring! Those that claim the movie is funny are probably the type that laughs at funerals. I should have realized something was wrong when my wife and children did not want to see it and I was sitting in the theatre with just one elderly couple. One of the two began to snore within 20 minutes of the picture starting.

Watching the grass grow would have been time better spent. At least I would not feel so guilty for spending $12. However, I'm grateful that my family decided to skip it and save me an additional $60 (with concessions).

Skip this one. No doubt it will be on DVD very soon and you will be able to get it for free at the library. Even then it will not be worth your time.
