Guilt Trip

The movie had it's moments, but could have been better. It did have humor, but not "gut laughing funny" that we were looking for. We didn't think it was worth the cost of a movie ticket, for the theater, but worthy watching on Nexflix. We liked Parental Guidance far better.....and it was worth seeing on the big screen.

Not for everybody

If you want a feel good movie that doesn't come together until the last four minutes, then this is fir you. Sen.t,h is a little underplayed, but Streisand does not go over the top showing restraint. A great diversion if you like Babs who can show more acting ability with a look, or an eyebrow arch, than most modern "actors"

Film okay. I really didn't like the combination of actors, both of them made me somewhat uncomfortable. I think Seth is a little too unpolished to have "a masters degree in chemistry" and not very refined to be the son of someone represented by B. Streisand. Eventually it seemed like the film dragged--I wished it would end; I was tired of a replay of the same events in different settings. Recommend: Barbra Streisand was better in "The Fockers"; save her talent for a much better, more believeable movie.

i liked the movie a lot. the suttle humor from the son may have been missed by some but i thought it was very funny.
i felt sorry for the "daughter" who's sole line was basically "hi, i'm Joyce" had such a small part. but, a part that brought the whole movie together and shocked everybody. (i think)

The only thing good about it was it's length--90 minutes. Don't waste your money. The story plot was weak and the story line quickly got old.

Guilt Trip

Charming and sweet. Just a nice movie to change the pace from the explosions and split second action of most current fare. Babs is wonderful and I was surprised at how I had forgotten just how good she is at comedy. Recommend to everyone who is tired of being thunderstruck and deafened in a movie theater.

The Guilt Trip

Delightful! Entertaining! At times predictable, but a few little surprises along the way. Most adults could probably relate to the characters on some level. The actors were extremely well cast. Even though there is no nudity, sex, or really offensive language, I doubt that this film would hold as much interest for children. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Intelligent comedy

If your young and you looking for someone to push someone in the pool and laugh or a food fight to laugh, this isnt the movie. this movie is about family. barbara did a great job in playing my mom. geez she reminded me of her. there are no cheap laughs and after about 10 mins its obvious. the movie is a good movie to see and clean. a must see.

While the characters add body to the film. The film lacked interest. Too much lag time between conversations, and too much dialogue that didn't capture excitment. Sentiment was there, but didn't tug at heart strings enough

Guilt Trip

I was expecting a hilariuos comedy when I went to see the Guilt Trip. What I got instead was a wonderful movie about a relationship between a parent and child. Don't get me wrong there were deffinetly funny moments, but if your looking for a non stop, laugh till you cry funny this isn't the movie. However, if you want a movie that may remind you of your own funny, strained. wondeful relationship with your parent or child, then this is the perfect movie to see. It made me laugh, made me sad, but most of all it made me smile as I left the theatre thinking of my mom.

Funny at times, very funny

The characters personalities and quirks were awesome. I could really identify with them and recognize them as people that I know in my life.

The story was weak.
Semi-predictable.

It's a movie for those who want to chill out and enjoy a good time. Thee is no cinematic or artistic scenes in this movie.

I should have rented it.

GUILT TRIP

I was disappointed in this film, it is slow from start to finish. The acting is fine; but nothing great. The storyline is OK yet mundane. There's not much more to say or review. There is no excitement or suspence to remark on. It's simply a slow non eventful film. Sorry I couldn't add to the hype on this film. I would pass on it at the theater and the DVD when released.

Funny, Heartwarming

Barbara Streisand is fantastic in this movie....she is clever, funny and heartwarming.......I would recommend seeing this movie if you are looking for a really good uplifting family movie.

Overbearing and underwhelming

If you didn't grow up with a nagging, overbearing mother and would like to know what it feels like, see this movie. Otherwise, consider yourself warned that this movie is about a mother who means well, but is unbearable to be around. Well, at least her son knows that and feels sorry enough to take her on an 8-day road trip. There?s really no scene in this movie worth seeing. Even Seth Rogan, usually LOL funny, is pathetic to watch. Skip it entirely.
