    Guilt Trip

i liked the movie a lot. the suttle humor from the son may have been missed by some but i thought it was very funny.
i felt sorry for the "daughter" who's sole line was basically "hi, i'm Joyce" had such a small part. but, a part that brought the whole movie together and shocked everybody. (i think)

    Great movie!

    Babs makes the trip

B.S. has not lost a beat. She brings her best, but it's not really enough to carry this slow drive. It has some sweet moments, but most of it is just too realistic to be entertainment. Dudes & kids will hate it. I with with my 74 yr. old mother and 65 yr. old friend and they found it 'ok'. I think I was the youngest chick in the audience and I'm 51.

    Cute But a Little Slow

The funny parts on mostly on the trailers. A good Older son -Mother relationship. Both Finding each other. It was just OK for me. I guess the trailers spoiled it a little for me. Expected a little more.

Don't feel guilty if you decide to wait for this to come out on DVD

    by

Overall, the movie was a bit slow and might have made for a better story to be told via book. Though in theory this might have been a good screenplay to read - it played out on-screen a bit slow and tedious. Though I will give props to the positive ending and overall message, which for me was - Things never turn out as you plan them to turn out - they turn out even better!

Go to Guilt Trip with your older son or daughter

This movie was really good! It was so relevant for a mother with a 20 something child. Both of us were in stitches.Seth and Babs had great chemistry! It's also refreshing to see a movie that kept the time to an hour and a half.

    Disappointed

    by

Enjoyed Streisand playing the east coast Jewish mother, a role for which she doesn't need much prep. Rogen was not as convincing and his character was a bit unsaleable, just like the eco-friendly cleaning product he was trying to sell to major retailers across the country.

A good ending to a contrived story.

    For Us Older Folk

Loved this movie and laughed most of the time! You'll only like this if you have grown children, especially boys! Barbara Streisand was wonderful, and she and Seth make a terrific pair.

    Not really a comedy

Listed as a comedy, I did not laugh out loud once. I laughed more at the preview of other movies!!! Entertaining movie about the adventures of a son and his Mom on a long road trip. The mother/son exchanges may make some feel uncomfortable. As always, there's a happy ending (but not the one you expected). Wait to watch this one on TV.

    Guilty pleasure

One of the funniest movies I've seen. Some of the things that happened were things I remember. Not the argument, of course, but I was the mother.

    Streisand Comedy Redux

Very under-rated comedic actress, and with Seth Rogen as the much-browbeaten only son, Streisand shines.

Quite funny, with some squirmy mother-son revelatory moments that made a man of fifty-plus blush with embarrassment.

    All-round good movie

    by sagguy

Showing a relationship between mother and son, sweet, touching, funny, sincere. She always wants the best for him, and him for her, but living with some pre-contrived notions about him as well as herself. They both learn and grow from there week journey across the country; just a nice movie as compared with some of the nonsense out there.

    The Guilt Trip

Bring a pillow, you'll thank me for this advice ten minutes after the movie starts. Barbara Streisand's character is very annoying, this movie would be more enjoyable if it was a silent film.
A slow moving picture, if you must see, wait for the DVD.

    THE GUILT TRIP

I LIKED THE FILM, DIDN'T THINK I WOULD, BUT I DID! MY DARLING WIFE PICKED IT. THE ACTING WAS SUPERB ONE "F" WORD BY BARBARA THAT DIDN'T NEED TO BE IN THE MOVIE, BUT I'M 68 AND IN MY TIME MOVIES NEVER USED THAT WORD, SO BE IT. HEY GODFATHER I THERE WERE HARDLY ANY CURSE WORDS CAPICE?
I RECOMMEND THE MOVIE IF YOU LIKE A GOOD STORY AND AS I MENTIONED VERY GOOD ACTING.

    Go See It!

    by

People may be hesitant to see this movie because it stars Barbra Streisand, but go see it! It's very funny and delivers on what it says it will give. It's a light hearted comedy about a Jewish mother and son, which should make you laugh just thinking about it. Obviously this movie isn't going to win any oscars or awards, but it's very cute and worth seeing.

    Good laughs

While much of the movie was predictable, it was very enjoyable. The two main characters played off each other well & made for a very funny and pleasant movie. With all of the violent movies around of late, it's refreshing to be able to sit back and experience a lighter, comic fare.
