The Guilt of not staying at home

While the characters add body to the film. The film lacked interest. Too much lag time between conversations, and too much dialogue that didn't capture excitment. Sentiment was there, but didn't tug at heart strings enough

    Guilt Trip

My husband and I loved this movie with Barbara Streisand! She is a great singer and comedian. She makes the whole movie worth while. Enjoyed all of it!
A fun movie to see compared to the junk and violence of other movies to be seen. Thank you for an entertaining evening!

    Babs makes the trip

B.S. has not lost a beat. She brings her best, but it's not really enough to carry this slow drive. It has some sweet moments, but most of it is just too realistic to be entertainment. Dudes & kids will hate it. I with with my 74 yr. old mother and 65 yr. old friend and they found it 'ok'. I think I was the youngest chick in the audience and I'm 51.

    Not for everybody

If you want a feel good movie that doesn't come together until the last four minutes, then this is fir you. Sen.t,h is a little underplayed, but Streisand does not go over the top showing restraint. A great diversion if you like Babs who can show more acting ability with a look, or an eyebrow arch, than most modern "actors"

A wacky dramedy about family that's worth a trip to the movies

It's hard to believe Seth Rogen can be consistent for all these years considering how much weed he smokes. I hit up the vaporizer once a week or so and I find it hard to do anything other than to drag myself to work monday through saturday. Anyone with an overbearing parent, or at least one that acts that way to make it look good, will appreciate this movie as it explores the typical dysfunctional family. When mom and son hit the road for this trip, each stop along the way is not only funny but provides a deeper look into the relationship and how both are dependent on the other. Barbera Streisand somehow looks like she hasn't aged in some time and Seth Rogen pulls off the perfect awkward only child. When they get to their final destination you get an unexpected surprise which make the ending perfect in my opinion. And get yourself some scio-clean.

Slow Beginning and stays that way....

    by

Not really what i thought it was going to be.... Was a slow start and just stayed that way... Finally had me looking for my phone to see what time it was... It was kinda cute, but dull sappy humor.. All the funny parts were shown in the trailers... Wait for it to come out on tv, don't pay to see it.

    Enjoyable Enough

This movie is just okay. I went with my 23 year old son and he was very bored. I would rather have waited to see this on DVD than spend the money and time going to the movies. My son's comment "It was a typical romantic comedy, but between a mother and a son". As a mother, I got a little teary at the end. I liked it more than he did.

    Guilt Trip

A perfect New Year Eve movie ...easy going ... laughter ... especially if you know or are on either end of mother -son relationship. We enjoyed it and recommend seeing it ... well written, acted and directed.

Streisand and Rogen are a knockout!

    by

A rare treat to see Streisand on the big screen and an even rarer treat to see her play such a unglamorous and relatively unsophisticated character. In The Guilt Trip Streisand puts all her Hollywood flashiness and actor tendencies away in favor of a sincere and genuine performance. The film is wonderfully charming, funny and touching.

    Definate Must Go

Showing my Mom roots--loved this movie and the Mom and son connection. Could feel her pain, her pride and all her love. Felt hope that if the going gets tough my sons would rise to the occasion as hers did. Go see it with your older or adult kids--no harm in dropping a hint. LOL

    For Us Older Folk

Loved this movie and laughed most of the time! You'll only like this if you have grown children, especially boys! Barbara Streisand was wonderful, and she and Seth make a terrific pair.

Just saw it with my son

It was sweet, touching but slow. I really enjoyed Barbara-Seth was rather drab but he is playing a chemist. It really did not have enough content for a full movie and definitely not enough laughs. It would have been perfect to rent as a video.
