funny ... no, it really was funny.

    by NWCL123

Okay, I know that the situations have all been done before, but this was very homey and brought you the humor that doesn't get 13 year old boys or 22 year old boys laughing. But, it made me laugh. It was filmed in the Steve Carroll vein of awkwardness and real life feelings. You cant help but laugh. Seth Rogan isn' "actor of the year" but this helped prove that he has made it.

Go see it and enjoy it. Relax and laugh.

    Streisand Comedy Redux

Very under-rated comedic actress, and with Seth Rogen as the much-browbeaten only son, Streisand shines.

Quite funny, with some squirmy mother-son revelatory moments that made a man of fifty-plus blush with embarrassment.

Great movie for mom & daughter day out

This movie was so funny. My mom and I laughed until we couldn't breathe. Barbra & Seth make a great team. You feel like they are mother and son. It's not only funny but a touching story too. Good for the whole family and make sure to stay through the beginning of the credits.

Don't feel guilty if you decide to wait for this to come out on DVD

    by

Overall, the movie was a bit slow and might have made for a better story to be told via book. Though in theory this might have been a good screenplay to read - it played out on-screen a bit slow and tedious. Though I will give props to the positive ending and overall message, which for me was - Things never turn out as you plan them to turn out - they turn out even better!

    Cute But a Little Slow

The funny parts on mostly on the trailers. A good Older son -Mother relationship. Both Finding each other. It was just OK for me. I guess the trailers spoiled it a little for me. Expected a little more.

Streisand and Rogen are a knockout!

    by

A rare treat to see Streisand on the big screen and an even rarer treat to see her play such a unglamorous and relatively unsophisticated character. In The Guilt Trip Streisand puts all her Hollywood flashiness and actor tendencies away in favor of a sincere and genuine performance. The film is wonderfully charming, funny and touching.

    The Guilt Trip

    by bpstump

The only thing good about it was it's length--90 minutes. Don't waste your money. The story plot was weak and the story line quickly got old.

    Laughed so hard

MUST MUST SEE. This movie is so real. Such a real life, real dialog movie. I went with my husband and 22 year old son. They both LOVED it. Especially my son, he kept saying, OH MY GOD, Thats you!!! see, its not just me, its every great mother out there.
Then I cried. I cried because I knew the hurt she felt, I felt that hurt and it felt real. Then I laughed again.
Please, see this movie. Two great actors. Couldnt have been better. Loved the ending, wont say why but it was great.
    Great great great.
If you cant identify with this movie, you are doing something wrong.
Not a kids movie (under 12) , they just wouldnt get it. Finally, an adult movie that is fun and doesnt involve action figures

    Simple and sweet

    by

The Guilt Trip is not a broad over-the-top comedy like the "Fockers" franchise. It's much more simple and sweet - about a Mother and Son who finally come to appreciate their similarities and their differences. Streisand and Rogen have such a natural and fun chemistry together - it was that that really drove this buddy picture. Some of Barbra's best, most natural acting so I do hope people will go see this film in the theatres. She's that good in many of the scenes. Rogen too - very different and honest in this picture. There are many laughs sure but the film felt more like a dramedy to me than a laugh-a-minute holiday romp that was advertised. I've seen it twice and enjoyed it both times.

    guilt trip

With the characters it was funny, but it wasn't as funny as I thought it would be. The movie got boring in some parts. but the characters in the movie did make it funny in certain scenes. I would not go see it again. and I would tell my friends that they should wait to see it when it comes out on video.

It was an okay movie. It wasn't funny enough to brag about.

    Guilt Trip

    by

I was expecting a hilariuos comedy when I went to see the Guilt Trip. What I got instead was a wonderful movie about a relationship between a parent and child. Don't get me wrong there were deffinetly funny moments, but if your looking for a non stop, laugh till you cry funny this isn't the movie. However, if you want a movie that may remind you of your own funny, strained. wondeful relationship with your parent or child, then this is the perfect movie to see. It made me laugh, made me sad, but most of all it made me smile as I left the theatre thinking of my mom.

    Disappointed

    by

Enjoyed Streisand playing the east coast Jewish mother, a role for which she doesn't need much prep. Rogen was not as convincing and his character was a bit unsaleable, just like the eco-friendly cleaning product he was trying to sell to major retailers across the country.

A good ending to a contrived story.
