    Not Worth It

I did not leave the movie with a good feeling... kind of 'meh...' I would have rather watched GI the movie (cartoon version) from the 80s; I definitely would have been excited! Don't waste your money on this movie; rent it...

Gi Joe 2 is totally disappointing

Most Rock movies suck, I was curious to see if he would ruin this franchise as well, answer yes.

The joes have two special gadgets they use in the first 5 minutes of the movie, the rest was totally boring, the new girl is half as cute as the other actress.

Bruce & snake eyes were really cool, everything else about the movie was totally boring, don't waste your money.

    ehhhhhhh

    by

the action was great...the movie was ehhhhh...nothing like the comics and the animated series...if your a GI Joe fan you'll be disappointed in the 1st 15 minutes of the movie...Cobra Comander looks freaking awesome...Bruce Willis is a parady of John McClain from Die Hard...The chick who plays Lady Jaye sexy like a young Eva Mendes...I give it 3 out of 5 the action keeps me from giving it a lower score and i'm a HUGE GI Joe fan...If you are too you will see why I rated it low and why I am disappointed...

    Pretty Good Movie ;)

    by

I like the new GI Joe Reboot movies. I went to see the 2d version, and it was really good. The story line was NOT predictable, and it had plenty of story, action, sexiness, intrigue, for me to stay interested. I especially like the Ninjas!! Also, this version of Cobra Commander was great. I like both his mask and that of Snake Eyes.

    Hail COBRA!!!

    by

That is what this movie should have been titled. I enjoyed G.I. Joe Rise of the Cobra because it was a great way to introduce a new audience to a beloved 80s franchise while still nodding the its existing fan base. Then we have Retaliation. i was excited to see where they would take the Joe team since the first movie was setup so well for its sequel. Then the movie starts and I start wondering what happened to the cast from the first movie. We get a 80s transformers kill spree 20 minutes into the movie leaving us with a new cast of characters. While I would have been okay with that, there was almost no character development with them. A dead dad here, a family at home there but no real substance to draw me in and feel anything for the actors. This movie really focused more on the Cobra team and gave them a bit more character. There was some nice action scenes and a bit of humor but not enough to make my top ten for this years movie list. So I would say Hail cobra and wait for DVD.

    ok...I guess

The movie was fine. I love the actors in this movie, but with any #2 it's never as good as the 1st. My kids enjoyed the movie.

    Lots of Explosions

If I didn't have an 18-year-old grandson, whom I took, I probably wouldn't have seen G.I. Joe. That said, however, I've seen worse movies.

SPOILER ALERT: If I'd known that Duke (Tatum Channing) would get killed off early in, I probably wouldn't have gone at all!

    AWESOME MOVIE!!

    by

Just came back from watching GI Joe: Retaliation.... It was an awesome movie hands down and was 10 times better then the first. Great acting from everyone especially Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson! I loved the new breakout star D.J. Cotrona as Flint. This movie had great Special Effects and a solid plot that just blows your mind! The fight scenes were incredible and my overall favorite scene was the ending showdown between Dwayne Johnson and Ray Stevenson's characters.. The only downside is the waiting a whole extra year for the movie release... Channing Tatum's 10 extra mins was not worth the extra year long wait (yes he dies and no he doesn't come back) I believe this is a movie for all ages and was worth every penny spent! Can't wait for the 3rd one!!

How one event can ruin a movie

    by

Plot: Okay, Acting: Good, Fight Scenes: Good, Characters: Good... but where it failed was, without trying to add spoilers, was fairly near the beginning of the movie. And this one event destroyed the entire movie to me. And from that point on, i wasn't watching the movie anymore. I was just waiting for the writers to fix there mistake. Convincing myself with false hope that there was no way they would be so stupid was to leave the story as it was... but they never fixed it.. I even waited to the end of the credits, to hold on to that last little bit of hope. But alas, there was nothing there. And for that reason alone. This movie failed. Its the type of movie I wish I could go back and un-see. Because now all I am, is depressed.

    GI Go See

    by

If you are like me and just need to see an action movie every now and then, this will work. Is it the best movie of the year . . . no . . . is it a good, keep your interest action flick. YES! The Rock is becoming a darn fine actor. The dynamic between Rock and Tatum was great . . too bad . . .

    Freakin Bad@ass!!!!

Ten times better then the previous one that just sucked all over the place. Much better action and realism. Not totally overboard. The Rock and Willis did an awesome job.

For all you negative Nanny's...you have NO clue what your talking about. If you saw the previews that should have told you it was going to suck and you wouldn't have wasted your money. Morons.

    Entertaining for the subject matter

G.I. Joe retaliation was a good afternoon filler for those who enjoy the comics and toys.
The directing and cinematography felt like something out of the MTV music video, without the music. The acting overall was decent though I found myself wondering why there are so many one-liners that made no sense though the film does try to take itself a little more seriously than people give it credit for.
As for the 3-D elements which is why this film was held back over a year I fail to see the point of holding the film back for what clearly was a dumb and unneeded gimmick.

    G.I. So-so

    by

I went hoping it would at least be better than the first one and I think it was. They improved upon Cobra Commander by giving him a more recent comics look and although he did not have a Chris Latta style voice, this one was much better than the Joseph Gordon Levitt version in the first film. There are some characters that are missing and they should have stayed, but I guess it was the studios choice to swap out some of the characters for new ones. The addition of Bruce Willis's character was nice. The one thing that perturbed me with him, and all the Joes is that there was not once a "Yo Joe!" in the film. It was always "Who Ha!", which is a real military thing, but you think they would put the catch phrase battle cry for G.I. Joe for the past 30 years in the film. There are some nice easter eggs throughout the film, one being a reference to General Hawk in the name of a location that is in the film. There must also be some pre-80s ones too for the over 40 crowd. It was still fun.

Over the top of fiction. The only real believable thing in the movie was the camaraderie of the team. One dimension acting on the part of Johnson. When a combat brother of that closeness is taken ( in any manner ) you do not stay that calm. A little more sentiment on Johnsons part would have been more believable. Willis did a good job for his bit part. I did like the action but some of it was a little too much. Referring to the repelling fight on the cliff face, a bit too much. Been there, done that! Lots of wasted action for me. Unfortunate that I know something about military tactics so it was kind of a turnoff with some of the stuff that occurred. Too unbelievable, but that is what Hollywood is all about. good luck to all who go. Good cinematography. writing was a little corny, think the female lead ( Palicki ) Jaye was more believable than that of the three left after the attack.
